  1. I know this is supposed to be a positive board. I just need to know if there is anyone else out there with fibro or rheumatoid arthritis. I recently found out I have arthritis in my knees and degenerative joint disease in my back. The weight loss surgery will hopefully postpone knee replacements and take weight off my back but I am only 44 3/4 years old. I take nsaids for pain and steroids for flare ups. 3 more months of weigh in then I can submit for a surgery date. I'm going RNY all the way! Going to a pain doctor to get off of nsaids. Ok pitty party over. Anyone in my boat?

Hopefully your heart rate isn't fast and you don't have any other symptoms than fatigue as if that's not bad enough!

    "I can't wait to/until..."

I can't wait To shop for cheap cute little clothes Swim without fearing of other trying to push me back into the water (whale ) For the seatbelt not to squish me To ride rides without fear of not fitting My list is long but most of all I hope the surgery lowers my pain on my joint affected with rheumatoid arthritis.

    Drain Tubes?

I agree toothdoc a JP drain is not worse than a cathater. I had breast reduction and I had a tube on each breast. It didn't hurt just felt weird when they came out.

    Drain Tubes?

Bebulz Check with your doctor first to see if he does do one. Remember it is a tool to make sure your not leaking fluid into your abdomen. Not all doctors do them. If he does then it just becomes something that you say ok I want a healthy life, a drain tube for a week, doable. To me this is a small thing to endure for the long term of my health and having a kick a*s body! ~Missy~

When will i feel normal again.

To celebrate me If you aren't feeling better or not getting fluids in you should call the doctors. I am still pre-op but maybe you have a stricture. Or just need iv fluids. Its better catch it early than be really really sick.

    Let the journey begin...

Getting up and moving is the best thing to do. Take your pain medicine don't wait till its out of control. Try to take as your doctor for a few days. Like if its every six hours then take it every six hours to stay on top of your pain. Make sure you take medicine so you can poop lol pain medicine can cause major constipation.
