Thank you for ur support' date=' I appreciate <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote']
I would try to work out and build some muscle. Muscle, weighs more than fat .
Do resistance training vs cardio. Lift weights. moderate weights. that will build muscle without exertion.
You will be healthier in the long run., and add some weight.

Call the insurance company and ask for their written policy. Get a copy (probably online) print and read it carefully. Call them with any questions to clarify their policy and make sure you know all the "parts/pieces" that you need to have (ie: primary care doctor referral letter' date=' certain medical tests like an echocardiogram, and others, 3 or 6 months of a nutrition class, and more) You can start working on those things and gathering all of that. Keep calling them and getting all of your questions answered so that when you are ready to go to your seminar, you will be more confident of your insurance coverage. As for your BMI, are you worried that you may be too low by the time you start your appointments? They supposedly take the first weight that they take from you at the start. If this is your worry, you need to maintain your weight now until your first weigh in. Or are you worrying for other reasons.
I hope this helps![/quote']
Thank you . That sounds like good advise!

Yes I have broke my bed. Oiy vey that was horrible. Got up in the middle of the night and went to flop back down and the bed broke away from the head board and my ass was stuck and could not get up. I had to put darn cinder blocks under it so I could sleep on it. Now I dont have that problem anymore. I also stepped in a whole and broke my toe and fell at the toyota dealership and not one darn sales man saw me to come help me up. I was more pissed then embarrassed because they have no issue running all over you to sell a darn car. When I was big I have wretched my neck' date=' fell on my ass I dont know how many times and broke a plastic lawn chair. OMG its funny now but was not then.[/quote']As always... Funny now.... Not then.

I am having dinner with the relatives that owned the plastic chair I broke. He is a gastroenterologist. I will be looking for the most sturdy chair when I walk into the room.
I will talk to him about lap band at his hospital.

Help
in The Lounge
welcome to LBT.....sorry I can't answer specifics to your UK questions. Here in the US we have come to associate any individual who is pushy or offering some kind of "CASH NOW" deal with some kind of questionable set up. In general' date=' ALL surgery including WLS requires careful consideration, consultation, and evaluation both of the patient and BY the patient of the facility and surgeon they want to use. I would personally avoid any pushy sales pitches and make absolute sure that any I deal with is reputable and has both qualification and good reputation. Good luck to all.[/quote']I understand you can get it done in Belgium for a bout $ 8000 us ( sorry I do nt know equivenent English pounds or euros)

I live in eastern Mass. I thing there is a bariatic program at UMass Medical in Worcester.
Play their game. They hold all the cards. If you need a recomdation from your PCP. Then get one from your PCP.

True Results charges 9999.00 and that includes 1st year fills. I was a self pay too and they finance you' date=' even if you have marginal credit. Now if you have a hiatal hernia they will repair that at the same time and bill your insurance for that part. Your insurance should cover that and it brought my cost down to 5,000.00Check them out, they are all across the us.
Good luck[/quote']
Thank you

I have been wanting to get the lapband surgery but I just found out today from my insurance but I have to jump through hoops and wait for 6 months before I'm able to get my band.My insurance company has the same requirement ( I Can ChangeProgram)
Frustrating, but I think it is a good thing.
I am in the program at my hospital, but, do not think I am getting enough information as to the lap band life style.

As a matter of fact it happened another time. Always with the most judgmental people in attendance.

I did break a chair at a distant relative's house. The look on their faces was disgusted. Very Embarassed.
At other relatives houses... I arrive early and select a sturdy looking chair. NOT THE 150 year old antique!
