  1. How are you doing? I had those kind of episodes before and I was definitely too tight. Had an unfill and all symptoms stopped! I know we all want to be as tight as possible, I lost 13 pound in 5 days when I was too tight. However, to wake up choking with reflux, and Water coming out of your nose is not worth it. It also can damage your band. I hope you are doing better Soybean.

  2. Hi everyone,

Just wanted to update you that I got my unfill today. I'm so glad I listened to you guys I feel so much better. I could tell right away, even from just drinking Water. The crazy thing is I lost 12 pounds since Monday. The weight loss is great but not at the expense of how I was feeling. Not eating, no nutrients, was barely drinking. So again, thanks! It made me stop waiting and act sooner than I would have. You guys are the best. He had only given me .50cc, and he took out half of what he gave me. It made such a big difference.

  3. Yes' date=' too tight. Ive been there and waited thinking it would get better. Problem is that the band area gets irritated and swollen and then a small fill wont be enough so you end up taking 2 steps back instead of a half step.[/quote']

Thank you for your feedback, will be getting my first unfill tomorrow

  4. Thanks ladies for the hard words, I guess I was waiting because I thought I was too tight when I got my fourth fill. I was scared and scheduled an unfill, but before I could get in to see my surgeon later that week I began to eat more and could keep things down. I was thinking that would happen again but I have a headache this time and the foam thing.

  5. I had my 5th fill this week and I tell you, I'm not hungry but I also can't keep much down. What is this white foam I keep spitting up too? I definitely can't eat or drink much. I'm eating ice because its easier to keep down. I have been trying to finish 8 oz of tea for 2 days. I keep reheating it :-). One friend just said give it a few more days. What do you guys think? I like what the scale says though. I'm down 8 lbs since my fill Monday. My fear is dehydration.

  6. What will I need at my first appointment! What do you need before your surgery? How fast can this process go?

My process went pretty fast, I had my first appointment consult Jan 4th, I was banded March 18th.

I agree it may depend on your insurance. I have PPO, my friend with H.M.O. Took about 8 months to get through all the appointments and referrals and all those types of things to qualify.

  7. My size 22 capri's from Stein Mart are falling off of course better quality of clothing. Tonight I try on my cheap pair of jeans from Walmart size 22 and they fit' date=' woohoo, excited. doin the happy dance.[/quote']

This is great news! I experienced something similar today. I went shopping for a skirt and decided to grab the 16&18 because though the scale hasn't moved in 2 weeks, my size 18 pants were feeling loose. I tried on the size 16 skirt and it fit! That was a great purchase. Made my day, happy, happy, joy, joy! Keep sharing, it motivates others.

  8. This gives me hope! I have had 3 or 4 fills but have barely noticed a difference. I don't eat as much as before but I can definitely eat more than I should. I also get hungry within 4 hours. It's so nice to know that my next fill may be the last!

Hang in there, the way they describe it is so true. It took me 4 fills but I'm definitely green now. It takes some getting use to as well. I can't eat much at all, before this fill I could gulp Water down but those days are over. I don't see myself needing another fill for quite some time. It does make eating easier because as long as you make good choices you definitely don't have to worry about quantity.

  9. I'm enjoying being able to sit on the floor with my legs folded and easily get up

I'm enjoying all the "hey skinny" comments even though I still have a long way to go before I'm truly skinny

Can't wait to cross my legs comfortably

I'm loving trying on clothes I couldn't fit before

I can see my collar bone!

    My husbands glances

The proud looks from my parents

The inspiration I have been to others

The envy I've experienced from some

Giving my larger sized clothes to others

    I'm beginning to enjoy running!

In addition to the numbers going down on the scale, I'm enjoying this journey, and all of the NSVs that come along with it! :-)

  10. So I am officially losing weight were people are starting to see the difference and now I am falling apart. I think I am at the point where I need to kick my own but into learning not to wait until I am hungry to eat and eat smaller bites. I have the hardest time with this. I had to start taking Biotin to help because I am not getting enough Protein and my hair is falling out. Good thing I have tons of it. I feel better in my own body but seem to be feeling run down as I cant seem to get enough Protein. Any suggestions for easy protein other than protein shakes?

Have you tried nuts, Peanut Butter? I like tilapia and tuna

  11. Hi' date=' I had a fill 7/18/13 just .25 and everything was good. I had an upper GI yesterday & now I can't keep anything down. Should I wait to see if I'm just irritated or is the band too tight?[/quote']

Hi, I had my 4th fill Monday 7.22.13 and felt okay at first. The restriction was obvious right away. I could still get liquids down initially but slowly. Tuesday I wasn't keeping anything down. Today I woke up couldn't even get down my chewable Vitamins or crystal light. I made an appointment to get an unfill because I was panicked about dehydration. Then all of a sudden around 10-11 today I started keeping Water down and was able to eat a little. So I guess maybe it just took some time for the swelling from the fill. I've also heard people say they are tight in the mornings. Maybe that's what I am now. I would give you back the advice I received which is take it slow, but if you can't get any liquids down see your doc, you don't want to suffer from dehydration.

  12. Thank you guys for responding. If this is restriction it's definitely going to take some getting use to. With the last 3 fills, I could still eat regular for the most part and still guzzle drinks. The only problematic food has been hard boiled eggs. It seems now I actually have to go slow and practice all those lap band eating rules. I'm still on liquids today, we shall see what happens the next couple days and I definitely am not hungry.

  13. Had my 4th fill yesterday, it's hot here and I attempted to guzzle some Water. Quickly realized that was a bad move, felt stuck. It stayed down but I felt uncomfortable. This is the first time I've been unable to drink freely. In addition, I haven't been able to drink too much today. Tried a Naked drink and it was so hard to get it down. Am I finally at good restriction? Or am I too tight? I was able to get down small amounts of ice and water.

  14. OMG I'm out of my head excited!!!!! I had 4 huge boxes of "thin clothes" on my closet and 99% of it now fits!!! I tried them on yesterday. Size 14 and 12 pants' date=' size large and medium tops!!!! I didn't realize I was that small yet, but went to a party Friday night and my friend told me that I looked tiny, and I realized my new size 16 Ann Taylor pants (omg yea, regular clothes!!) were already kinda droopy on me. I just bought them a month ago! Being a size 14 wasn't even on my radar... And the best part is I even missed the boat on a favorite coat which is kinda too big. Hah!!!!!!!!!!! So happy!!![/quote']

Had to go back and find this thread! Tried on some size 18 pants that I've had for years. They had been in the drawer because at a size 26, of course I couldn't fit them. Put them on today and they are too big! Feels great! :-)

  15. Had my 3rd fill on 6/27 and really can't tell much difference. I'm journaling my days now to show my WLS doc and myself what I'm going between meals and I'm measuring my 1/2 cup now. I'm thinking I may need another feel because I'm just not lasting on 1/2 cup. Before I was just counting calories and aiming high for Protein and not really measuring.

I lost 2 pounds between fill 2 and 3 which I'm grateful it wasn't a gain (which it'd been if this was all me and no band)!! My total loss by my wLS docs scale is 22lbs since preop. Also I weighed in the afternoon for #3 when #1 and #2 weigh-ins were in the morning. (If that even matters)

Come on March Bandsters brag a little I need to see how successful all y'all are to spur me on!!

I had my 3rd fill 6/17 and it really made a difference. Before, I just felt like I was dieting because I didn't have any restriction. Since the 3rd fill I've gotten stuck so much because of the restriction, I am now learning to take smaller bites and all that because getting stuck and sliming I hate. I've lost 45lbs since preop but to me it's still going slow. As long as I avoid slider foods I do pretty good. I lost 20lbs preop and 25lbs post op. I keep telling myself this isn't bad for almost 4 months. I sure would not have lost it otherwise. Sounds like you may still need another fill, it takes some people a little longer. Also depends on how aggressive your doc is being with the amounts. I have never measured my food I just feel when to stop. Sometimes, I even hiccup. My big thing is the food choices. As long as I choose the right foods I do pretty good. I'm also exercising now.

  16. I was in bed, lying on my side I began to feel something hard. I sit up and pull the covers back to examine what this is??? Turns out it was just my legs and the bones around my knee and thigh area that I have never felt because they have been buried under so much fat! I've since also felt my upper arm bones as well. Feels great! :-)

  17. Does any one have any good advice about eating out? I do well as long as I am at home and can stick to my routine. Eating out socially is a big problem for me. I went out to an upscale mandarin restaurant and just didnt do well with my food choices. It's not the portions really, it's more the options. Really didnt have anything to go for low calorie. I mean. Egg rolls, chicken fried rice, beef skewers, shrimp toast, general tsao chicken, beef with pea pods, crystal noodles with shrimp and chicken! I'm like really? I know the simple answer is to have self control and say No! It's just not that easy at times. I logged everything I ate in MyFitness pal and I still didnt do too bad for the day with the very small portions I ate. I just still don't feel right about it :-(

  18. I'm proud of your awesome accomplishment! 40 lbs in ten weeks is awesome. You will look back on this and think wow I was doing great! I wish I would have realized it at the time and not been so frustrated. Withou knowing how much you are eating and what you are doing for exercise' date=' it is difficult to offer an appropriate suggestion. I know you know to consider a band adjustment. .. and I wonder if you are eating enough Protein. Also I start working with a personal trainer on Monday and recommend it for you. The gen manager at the gym talked a little about needing to change up exercise routine every so often so your body gets a metabolism boost. Let me know what works for you, and keep up the great work. 40 lbs is awesome in such a short time! Xxoo[/quote']

Thanks so much for the words of encouragement I really appreciate it! I do think I need to change things up a bit as far as eating and exercise. I tend to stick to routine. Thanks to you I started looking at the 40 pound loss differently. I tried on some clothes that I couldn't fit, but now I can. Some other clothes are way too big to wear anymore. I have my 3rd fill scheduled for 6/17. The scale has started to move again, I hope to lose 4 more pounds before then. I have very aggressive goals for myself which I think lends to me being frustrated at times. I think I need to relax those goals somewhat. Like you said, " I'm doing great!" Thanks :)

  19. I'm scheduled for fill #2 on Friday. Weight loss has stopped but holding tight to the 20lbs I have lost thus far. Soooooo wish it would pick up a little bit. I'm happy with 20 but need to be moving down again. Logging everything still and walking some.

    How are y'all?

I'm at a 35lb loss including preop. I was at a 30lb loss before I had my first fill. I felt no restriction or help with my first fill. I could still eat pretty much anything. However, eating an egg too fast definitely let me know I was banded. Being stuck is scary. I'm happy that during that time I didn't gain any weight. I had my 2nd fill last week and have already dropped 5lbs. I definitely feel the restriction now. I eat small portions about a cup of food. I can go about 4 hours or more before I'm hungry again. Your 2nd fill should definitely get things moving again.
