    Incisions...

It's weird I find myself thinking, "man my scar is hurting." Then I think about where it's located and realize it's one from my gallbladder and not my band. It's weird

Eek, sry! I doubt any scar reduced will help if its Keloid. Basically a keloid scar is a build up of collagen.

    Any February 2013 Bandsters?

I was banded on 2/6 and have been emotional as well. You are not alone!

    am i stupid or what

You & me both! Tomorrow I will be 2 weeks post op and I have been sooo emotional these past couple days. My problem is not so much my addiction to food as it is my lack of liking most foods. There are just not a lot off foods I like and am a very plain eater. People say, "oh, I am too"...and then we compare notes and they are like, "wow! You are picky" I just can't help it. I have a very plane/bland pallet. Makes life style changes very difficult. The stuff most people eat like: yogurt, oatmeal, etc. I just can't stand :-(

    Struggling

Stay busy! When my family was eating dinner I would be @ the gym. They busier you are the less time you have to think about how hungry you are.

No worries! I still have the gas pain in the shoulder as well. Are you drinking Protein shakes? I was averaging 3/day for about 65-70grams of protein. What are you allowed to eat? Did you not have to do liquids after the surgery? I got moved to puréed foods. He said try that for a couple days then advance to mushies.
  11. I was just banded on 2/6 and I had my first post-op visit with the surgeon today. He said I could move from Liquids to Puréed. Any ideas on good foods/meals? I'm a little confused, I thought my next step was soft foods. I know this was probably a question I should have asked him, but I didn't really think about it much until after. My appointments always seems to be so rushed. They literally last 2 mins tops, at least my time with the surgeon.

I am doing pretty good. Down 9lbs & feeling good. First post-op appointment with the surgeon is today. Hoping to get moved to mushies. How has the experience been for you?

    Finally banded yesterday

Is it weird that I don't know where my port is or even what size band I have. My surgeon never came to see me after.

    Social Stigma and Full Disclosure

I was the same way. I told some people, but not my boss because the one time I did mention I was thinking about it he made a big deal about how he didn't see me as a quitter and he couldn't believe I would just take the easy way out. I also didn't want them to require a doctors note and for me to have to use more than one weeks vacation. However, about day 6 of my liquid diet, which was by far the worse, I let it slip to my boss's boss and it was the best thing that could have happened. He made me feel so much better about it. He had me go sign up for short term disability just incase I needed more than a week off. I told him I didn't think this surgery would qualify since it was elective. He told me I was looking at it all wrong and that granted it was my choice to have the surgery, but the company as well as my insurance were going to benefit because I would would be a healthier version of myself.

    Finally banded yesterday

I feel ya girl! I started my period the night before my surgery, go figure! It hasn't really been a bad one so I guess I really can't complain, but still not something I want to be dealing with.

    Any February 2013 Bandsters?

Yes - I would suggest a recliner or elevated. I was banded Wednesday and have slept in the recliner every night since I've been home. It requires less stomach muscles to get up from a recliner or being elevated. Plus I think it's easier to sleep on you back that way. I am a side & stomach sleeper all the way so this has helped my remain on my back
  18. I seen a YouTube video awhile back where a LapBand patient (woman) who was in her maintenance stage complained of having issues with port pain anytime she tried to be intimate with her husband. I was just curious if this has effected anyone else? If so, how you dealt with it.

  20. I was just banded Wednesday & immediately started having doubts. Is this normal? I was never worries about something going wrong with the band down the road when I was per-op. There was never any doubts that this is what I wanted. So I don't know if its because of all the pain, but now I am worried, I don't want to have to do this again should something go wrong with the band. I'm worried I may have made a mistake. It's all so real now. Anyone else go through this?

    Newly Post Op!

I was banded on Wednesday as well. Chest pain is the worst. When I woke up from the surgery I thought I was being suffocated.
