  1. I had lap band in 2013 but then in 2017 it slipped causing me to have severe reflux and in Nov 2017 I had it removed. My Dr said nothing about any revisions so I thought I could maintain my weight myself. Nope...I was right back to where I started. March 10, 2019 I had a Sleeve done by another Dr in which I was very happy with. I am really looking forward to the journey again in getting back to my happy weight of 170.

  2. I agree, it's hard to think about this being permanent. I have lost and gain all my life and now it's hard to get that ol feeling out of my head, "this is forever for me" I now have no more clothes that fit and I've been hitting the thrift stores and clearance sales. I don't love working out but I go everyday because I know it is what my body needs me to do. I have 10 lbs to go to my first goal and my son's wedding is in 11 weeks so I can do that 10 lbs I know I can. Congrats all your success. You go girl :)

  3. I was banded 1/29 and same thing just within the last 2 weeks holly molly. I pick hairs off me all day and so do my co workers. My Doctor said it's normal and to just take the good with the bad, it will grow back

  4. Having the band is just a tool to help you loose weight. You still have to do all the work to make it work. It's not like it is a Miracle cure. You still have to eat healthy, small portions and exercise. I too wish I woulld of done it years ago. My sister has lost 100 lbs with diet and exercise and I'm proud of her but she was telling people that she did it the "natural" way. I was so offended by that because it's not like we don't still have to work at it. Be proud of what you have done for yourself.

  5. I am so glad I did this. My starting weight was 239. I lost 14 lbs in the liquid diet 2 weeks before, I didn't cheat once on any of the phases. I started working out at the gym at 3 weeks out and I go about 5-6 days a week. I don't "kill it" at the gym I just do 40-45 of cardio and (treadmill, bike, ellipitical) some weights. I eat 3-4 oz meals 3 times a day and that is all I want. I had my first fill at 8 weeks.

I would highly recommend this and I am 100% glad I did it. I have more energy at 48 than I did at 32.

Good luck to you. And Thanks to everyone for the congrats

  6. Today I went to the Dr for my 6 week appointment. He said I don't need a fill because I have done so well without any so far. He was so happy with my success and determination so far that he hugged me and kissed my cheek. I felt so good about myself today and can't wait for the continued weight loss. People are starting to notice and I love it :D

Also...when I sat in the Dr's office and crossed my legs...yes....crossed my legs it didn't take a bunch of effort just to flop the leg over...I actually felt comfortable crossing my legs.

  7. I think it is best to give it up now. After surgery you have so many other restrictions that one more will be even harder. I have it up a month before surgery so that I was over that hurdle. It is all about getting healthy and eating better and Soda definately has no good nutrition in it and can be a Detour for weight loss. I found that those drops you put in Water really helped and Vitamin waters. Good Luck, have fun in Hawaii but realize the more you have to give up after surgery the harder it is to stick to it.

  8. Try to do something to keep your mind off of food. Go for a walk, keep busy doing something. You have invested time and money into this and you don't want to take steps backward this early on. You can do this. Think of how good you will feel when you look good this summer in shorts.

  9. I was banded 1/29/13, I did the 2 week pre op liquid diet and as of today I have lost 26 lbs. I can't seem to get enough calories or Protein in. I am getting around 400 calories a day and maybe 40 grams of protein. I work out 5 days a week. I have plenty of energy and I feel great but I'm worried this isn't enough.

Here is an example of my daily food:

3 oz of eggs in the morning

3 oz of tuna with low cal mayo for lunch

3-4 oz of chicken for dinner

I don't fee like eating much more. Does anyone have suggestions?

  10. My surgery is Tues the 29th. I have been on the liquid diet for a week now. I'm down 7lbs in 6 days. I have gotten really creative with the Protein shakes. I can have some broth, greek yogurt, sf Jello and pudding and I've had some cottage cheese. I feel like I couldn't do this 2 week liquid diet for any other reason but to start my lap band journey. I am excited about my new life ahead of me. I have been waiting for it for 6 months now.

    Good luck to everyone
