I have heard a lot of people experience this pain. I hope it goes away!!

Dave here and had surgery on the 19th. Feeling better except for the horrible neck and shoulder pain on one side. Feels like a pinched nerve. Was told it was gas? It's the only thing holding me back. Dlpleasants@fcps.edu

Had surgery on the 19th also. Started feeling hungry today. Made a nice Protein Shake. whey powder, 8 oz. of 1% milk, crushed ice in a blender. Use vanilla, chocolate, strawberry flavored powder. About $18 for a two pound jug of it at Walmart. About 26 grams of Protein per scoop. Filled me up good. My son just made a meat loaf and I want to kill him! Smells so good! Going to bed! Good luck! This is a battle we must win!

I had surgery on the 19th and my stomach is still like a balloon filled with air. Gas is starting to dissipate but I have a big old gut right now! :-)

I had surgery on the 19th. Are you feeling better now? I have had pain in my neck and shoulder like a pinched nerve. Some stomach pain from too much broth at one time. whey Protein Powder, crushed ice, 6 ounces of 1% milk in a blender has been a life saver. I didn't expect to feel this rough, but it is surgery. Dlpleasants@fcps.edu if you want to email. Take care! Dave

Had surgery on the 19th. Came home yesterday. Raging headache and a pinched nerve feeling in my neck and left shoulder area. Can't figure out best way to get my personal mess down. Afraid they will get stuck. Dave

Glad to hear all you brave ladies are doing well after surgery! Take it slow and easy!

They let you go home? Wow, that's great! They told me I will spending one night in the hospital. Maybe because they found a Hiatal Hernia that will be repairing too. How sore are you? Dave

My husband is losing his mind. I just got home from work and he asked me if we were going out for sushi tonite. I reminded him that I started my pre-op diet and that I would go with him' date=' but would not be eating (trying to compromise). He then gets angry and says that just because I am changing my diet it shouldn't affect him and walks out the front door. Half an hour later he comes back home and doesn't say he is sorry, but instead decides to remind me that I am very lucky to have been approved for this surgery and I need to stick to the diet. He then tells me that I need to have more willpower and take this seriously.I literally started laughing from the absurdity of the whole situation, which of course got him upset. I think that maybe he is a little stressed about all of this and does not know what to say or do. On one hand I think he has lost it, and on the other I know I need to try and help him express what he is really feeling about this.
Our families go through the stress and anxiety that we do. I have had the last seven months to digest and work through all of it, whereas he is just being hit with it now.[/quote']
From a man's point of view, he needs to relax, treat you nicer, and hurry up and get on board!!

Sara, the sodas are a no-no because of the carbonation and the gas it creates is what I have read and been told.

Awesome!!! Thank you!!!! I am a high school math teacher and must be very organized ahead of time, just my nature, so early preperation is key for my OCD! :-)

Ok, so I am starting to make a list and/or buy food/drinks that must be in my house when I walk in from the hospital. I bought a bunch of the powdered whey Protein mix. I really like the taste of it and they have 25+ grams of protein in each serving. I have heard if I don't mix it up real well, even a little clumping of the powder could get stuck? That wouldn't be fun. I guess I need low fat yougurt, broth, and what else? I don't want to do anything to make myself throw up! That sounds painful right after surgery!

You can do this!!! I love to eat, but I want my life back!! Spring will be here, we will all be getting healthy, and feeling good again!! I am sick of feeling miserable all day!!! Been battling the bulge over 20+ years. I teach on my feet, but have to sit down at times, unlike in the past. It's getting worse and time to act!!

I am having my surgery Feb. 19 and am ready! I sleep on my left shoulder side and can't on the right side due to pitching a baseball for so many years. Anyway, can I request which side to put the port on? I don't want to be lying on the port at night if I don't have to be. Also, I'm worried about feeling the band and port inside my body. Is it a constant or once in awhile? Thanks for any feedback!

I feel the same way. Lots of negative stories about the band, but lots of positive ones too. Just going in planning on following everything and being successful!! February 19th!!!

Approved and scheduled for the lap band on Feb. 19th. Freaking out reading all these negatives about problems with the band! Second guessing myself. Not a good thoughts!

Banded on 2/19, lost 35 pounds, stuck here for three weeks. Am able to eat anything, which is not good. If I eat too fast, I get ill. Other than that, I could use some more willpower!
