  1. I was banded on 3/20 and am only down about 20lbs. I have 7cc in my 10cc band and I still don't have a lot of restriction. Getting a little nervous because I am running out of fill space in my band.

I was banded 3/19 am down 20... Had my second fill today and have 7.9 in a 12cc band... I don't have restriction either, I know they say it takes time but I am getting impatient!

  2. Just thought I would give an update. I was banded 3-19.. Have lost 26lbs to date, I feel incredible so much more energy! I walked a 5k yesterday I am happy to report my incisions are healed and I no longer have any port pain! Just challenging myself to be better everyday! Ready for a fill...April 29th!

  3. So many people seem to be in better shape than me after a couple of days. I'm better than I was yesterday' date=' but still have a hard time breathing. I feel like I was hit in the stomach with an anvil, so deep breaths are painful. Maybe it's because of the extras I had done on top of the band, but I do feel better today, and trust that each day will improve.[/quote']

You are not alone...today was postop day 9 and I finally left the house alone! I still can't sit for extended periods of time, but it does get much better! I was only going to take 1 week off but ended up taking 2 off! Won't go back til next Tuesday!

  4. I hate to be an "old meany". But you all need to get up off the couch and walk around. I am so glad that your husband made you go to Walmart! smart man. You more than likely' date=' are just healing, but your surgeon's office is your best friend at this time. Make sure to follow surgeon's orders. Welcome to all new lapbanders. You will do fine, but don't just lay there, get up and move! Don't push vacuum cleaners, or tr clean your house, but get off the couch and walk around. best wishes, Karen[/quote']

    Love this! You are right!

  5. I took it easy again today, and my husband insisted I go to wal mart with him if for anything else to get me out of the house and do some walking... Guess what? I sat upright in the car for 10 min there and back, no problems... I came back home and am back on the couch taking it easy... But very optimistic!

  6. Talked to Drs office. They said most people take 1-2 weeks off and everyone is different. That is the incision that people have the most tenderness with nothing to be worried about and to take a few more days to heal. They are going to call me tomorrow to check on me and if its not better by the end of the week they want to see me.

  7. Ok.. Am I just being a baby or is this something to be concerned with... I can lay comfy.. Stand comfy but if I sit like to sit in a car.. I have this pulling at my port that I can't bear...I called my boss to tell her I was going to need more time and she has me freaked! Gonna call my dr in the morning, but some reassurance would help.

  8. I am 6 days post op having the same symptoms, although today is my best day yet. Today I decided to just try ibuprofen and Tylenol for discomfort and so good so far! I too still have port discomfort and can't sit in a chair, reclining or standing up is most comfortable. Heat feels great!

I was to return to work tomorrow but that won't be happening. It's not that I am in so much pain .. And I would do it again, my body needs more time and I am going to give it all that it needs.

  9. Okay I don't want to complain' date=' but I am feeling pretty much back to "normal" today. EXCEPT, when I move the place where my port is just sends sharp pains through me. It's a very localized area so I assume it's my port, but jeez enough already. I took ibuprofen. I hope it's better before I have to work on Monday.[/quote']

This is my issue too! I really thought I would recover faster... But it's ok, just taking it slow and listening to my body. Still have no appetite and finishing a shake a day is all I am getting down as well as a bottle of Water? everyday I feel a tiny bit better, but don't see myself back to work on Monday... Maybe I am a wimp!

  10. Good for you! I cried and had a pity party for myself, then a great friend callled me and we played a game online together and all of the sudden I realized I can get thru this and this is just the test to see how strong I am! I am still flat on my back 3 days after surgery, and not seeing me get out of this recliner to make it back to work MondY!

Keep your chin up! We are in this journey together!
