  1. I've been thinking the same thing. Got my 3rd fill last Tuesday (added 1.5 cc) & now if I have more than just a tiny swallow of Water I feel the tightness in my chest and back. I'm going to call my Dr tomorrow because I've started getting sick even with just liquid... But I have lost 8lbs since the last fill... But I'd like to still be able to eat something! :-/

  2. Help!!!

I need help not sure why or how this is happening to me but all I want to do is eat !! I eat but no where as near as before .its just I can eat more then what I thought ?? But the answer am asking is WHY??? Did my band stretch???;(

I was banded on 1/28/13 and my first fill was 3/1/13 my NP. Filled my band to 2 1/2 cc it wouldn't take any more ! Not sure why but that's how it went I was 256 starting and now I'm 229 I keep ranging from 231-227 lbs not sure why but it is what it is ;(..... So help anyone that might kno what I should do? Thank you ..

Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

I kinda have the same problem. I've had 2 fills now and I'm still hungry... I get full faster and with less food, but then I'm hungry1-2 hrs later. My Dr said that it can take up to 8 fills before you hit the green zone. I'm hoping it doesn't take that long!!! And I keep losing and gaining the same 5lbs for the last 2 wks... If you feel like something is wrong, call your Dr! Good luck!!!

  3. Msseven MIssy' date=' Foridays & everyone else here are right. Vomiting is not normal with the band. I don't vomit & if I did I would be calling my doctor.

As for eating with others, Yes I went through an adjustment period. It was more facing my fears than anything. I was afraid people would be staring at me, afraid I would eat too fast and have problems. One tool that helps me when I'm eating out or with a group of people that don't know about my band is a free app I have on my phone called Eat Slower. Basically it's a continuous timer that can be on sound, vibrate or both. So I set it for 1 minute on vibrate & put my phone on my leg under the table. I feel it vibrate & I know it's safe to take another bit.

Hope this helps. Good luck to you.[/quote']

I downloaded this app. Great idea!!! Can't wait till I'm back on solid foods so I can test is out!!!

    I'm a Texas girl too!

  4. Ditto for me. Way more sore in my port area today...gas seems to be moving but can feel it settle in my back and chest too. I doubt I am getting enough liquids in. Drank maybe a 1/2 cup of Water and 1/2 cup of apple juice. Sipping on chicken broth right now. I am taking my pain killers religiously. Congrats on your LB. :)

I've been eating Sonic ice most of the day so I hope I'm getting enough liquid. I've been using an ice pack on my port area, that seems to help but I still don't feel like I can stand up completely straight. I'm just hoping I can sleep in bed tonight instead of ending up on the couch... Congrats to you as well!!!

  5. I was just banded yesterday @ 8 and back home by noon. I slept for a few hours but woke up with gas pains. I use Gas-X strips that dissolve on the tongue, they really help! And I've found that when I get nauseous it's because I need to burp, so I walk around the backyard till I burp a few times and it makes me feel much better!!!

I have a question: How have you guys been sleeping? I tried laying in bed last night but couldn't get comfortable so I laid on the couch but that made my back hurt...and I don't have a recliner. Any advise?

  6. I was banded 2/1 and have lost 11 lbs this week! I know of course that this pace will REALLY slow down but I have a question for those more experienced.

A dear friend who I confided in about my surgery related that several of her friends had "surgery" and were initially very happy with the results. However' date=' over time they all reverted back to their original way of eating and "stretched out their stomachs", returning to pre-surgical weight.

I am confused as to how this is even possible? I certainly understand if you exist on high calorie "slider food" and deliberately try to eat around the restriction the band provides, but this just seems so willful and possibly painful that I can't imagine it. Is this as prevalent as my friend portrayed it? I thought this was more of an issue with gastric bypass (Carnie Wilson) but that the adjustability of the band would prevent much of this. Am I wrong?[/quote']

I've had 5 friends who have had the band (I just got banded yesterday) and only 1 of my friends have lost and then gained it back. It's all about self control and discipline and communicating with your Dr. If you find yourself getting hungry you may need to get a fill. If you get a fill and find that you can't eat solid food then your band is too tight. This seems to be the main cause for people to start gaining. You can't eat ice cream for every meal and expect to keep losing...

  8. I am officially banded!!! I am sore, but not as bad as I thought I would be. I knew I had a hernia, but the Dr said it was much bigger than he thought it would be, so it may take a little longer to heal...My ice pack has been my best friend! Gas pains haven't been too bad. I took a gas-x as soon as I got home & when my neck/back start to hurt I get up and start walking, it really does help!!!
