  1. Good luck! Our thoughts are with you all, NJDanielle27, MandaMom23, FloridaSunshine!
  2. I want to be able to take my dogs for long walks. I want to be able to clean my house without being exhausted. I want to sleep without a restricting mask (sleep apnea). I want to be able to stop taking a gazillion meds. Looking better in my clothes is just an added plus.
  3. I plan to start the pre-op diet 4 days early. My hope is that by time I should "officially" start it I will have worked through any bugs...
  4. Congrats Cheryl! I hope to see your book in stores very soon!
  5. Try using protein powders that contain whey isolate, like Unjury. I'm lactose intolerant as well. I tried Unjury, Not only did I feel good afterward, it tasted good as well.
  6. Girl, you look good! Can't wait until I can wear regular boots again.
  7. I like Unjury Chocolate Splendor.
  8. Typically, your anesthesiologist will talk with you prior to surgery. It was very reassuring for me when I had a hysterectomy. After talking with him, I was given something to relax me in my IV and then, he placed a mask over my nose and mouth with the anesthesia. I quickly went to sleep following that. When I say quickly, I mean a quick ten count or less. Hope this helps...
  9. Barb, let me know if you like the peanut butter and chocolate syrup. I want to buy some as well.
  10. I can behave myself using PB2. It's 'real' peanut butter that gets me into trouble.
  11. I decided to try Unjury because I'm lactose intolerant. It contains whey protein isolate. It was a huge plus that it tastes good! I don't start my pre-op diet until next month. However, I tried it yesterday. I wanted to make sure I liked it before ordering more. I really didn't expect it to taste good.
  12. Peanut butter is a trigger food for me. It's something that I'm trying to cut back on prior to lb surgery. I've tried PB2 and like it. It's what I plan to use to wean myself off of Jiff.
  13. Yum!!! Jif Crunchy Peanut Butter with Fuji apples!!! I had some for lunch.
  14. I don't start my pre-op diet for a while. However, I thought I'd try out the sample of Unjury Chocolate Splendor protein powder I'd ordered today. It was very good, to my surprise. I purchased Unjury because I am lactose intolerant and it had lots of good reviews.
  15. Kate, I guess I have the same concerns as a lot of people. "I've failed in the past. Can I do it with the lb?" While a part of me is very certain I can do it, there's also, a little part of me that's worried. But like Cynthia, this is about getting well for me. I have diabetes, sleep apnea, a low thyroid, etc. I'm exhausted all the time. And, I just don't feel good... I know that losing weight will help me to feel better physically, as well as give me a boost emotionally. For the first time in many years, I'm certain that a very positive change is coming. I'm glad to have others that are going through the same journey!
  16. I have to drink protein shakes and eat low carb for 10 days.
  17. This is me with my nephew at Christmas. This is me last Spring. [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:2925] [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:2827]
  18. I'm Felicia. I live in Michigan. Like Dave, I have surgery tentatively scheduled for February 19. At my heaviest, I was 275. I'm at 244 now. My goal weight is 135. I've struggled with the decision to have wls for years. I'm finally at peace with the decision and can't wait! Like many others, I have concerns about what happens after surgery. However, I know I'm in a much different space than in the past as far as weight loss is concerned. That being said, I also realize that I need the assistance that the lb can offer in my journey. Good luck to everyone! We can do this!!!
  19. I bought an Xbox 360 specifically to play Dance Central. I love it!!! It's the only way to exercise that I find fun. I haven't bought 2 or 3 yet. But, it's on my list.
  20. Kateeryn, I attend a local support group once a month. (I've attended twice and one of the first time was their Christmas party.) However, my family isn't close by and I don't have friends nearby. That's why I joined the forum. I want the support, and to offer support to others going through this journey. It's difficult going through something like this alone.
