Buy a Wii or XBox for Fun Exercise

I love playing Dance Central on XBox. I keep playing to beat my score. It makes exercising fun. I also, like Hip Hop Abs. [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:2827]

    Dogs

I have two dogs, eight year old Huey, and two year old Chica. Chica is very high-strung. Since I live alone, I left them at the boarding facility that my vet runs for one week following my surgery on 2/19/13. I was worried that Chica would jump on me. It's her usual method of greeting me. But when I picked her and Huey up, she was calm. Upon our return home, the first thing she did was sniff my stomach. Whenever she started to get to energetic, I let her smell my stomach and she'd settle down. I knew I was progressing well when I pulled up my shirt for her to sniff my tummy and she looked at me like I was crazy! [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:2827]

    issues with #2

I use clear soluble Fiber, the generic equivalent of Benefiber. I take one TBS daily in Water. (No added taste to the water and it dissolves well.) It works great! BTW, I have combination Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which means I deal with constipation and diarrhea. The clear soluble fiber helps with both. [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:2827]

Feel like i cant go out.

Anxiety issues aren't logical. All of a sudden the things that you've been doing for years can cause you to feel like you are choking, or your heart may feel like it's beating too fast. Or as in your case, you may feel sick to the stomach. Anxiety can manifest in many ways. I was a therapist for years. I've also, had an anxiety disorder for years. In addition, I've dealt with having agoraphobia. While I'm doing a lot better now, there are still times when I have anxiety issues. Talking with your doctor, or a therapist, can help you get a handle on things. It may be that the anxiety you are experiencing is a temporary emotional reaction to learning to live with your band. Or, it may be an anxiety disorder. The only way to know for sure what it is and how to deal with it is to consult a professional. If it is an anxiety disorder, your symptoms may worsen without help. You sound like a very strong, independent woman. Just remember, even strong women need help from time to time. [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:2827]

    Psych apt

I have an anxiety disorder as well. I did notice an increase in anxiety for a short period after surgery. Oddly, it was at night prior to sleeping and waking from sleep. I didn't have full blown panic attacks, just some anxiety. [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:2827]

    Preop/5 hour energy?

5 Hour Energy has the caffeine of two cups of coffee. It's my guess that if you are not allowed coffee or Monster that 5 Hour Energy isn't allowed either. Sorry... [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:2827]

    Anxiety Attacks????

I have an anxiety disorder. I did notice an increase in anxiety for a week or so following surgery. It was a major life change. So, I expected that there would be more anxiety following it. I am on Buspar for anxiety and just made sure I took my medication regularly. Is it possible that you had an undiagnosed anxiety issue prior to surgery? I haven't had a full blown attack in a while. However, I know the symptoms and take measures to relax when those symptoms appear. [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:2827]

To weigh or not to weigh?

I guess I'm one of the odd ones. I weigh weekly so I don't get frustrated. And, I have worked hard to accept whatever it says, gain or loss. I have to remind myself that the fit of my clothing means just as much as those numbers on the scale.

    repeat

So sorry to hear about your loss. Great job getting back to the gym. I think a lot of us are used to dealing with stress by eating. You turned to exercise to alleviate your stress today. That's a great turnaround! I want to be like you when I grow up!
  11. Week three post-op and I've just completed my first week of exercise. Love Dance Central!

    What are/were your goals?

While I want to wear a size 12 again, my goals are to get rid of my Bi-Pap machine (Hate the mask), having more energy, and being able to take my dogs for long walks. I already have more energy than I had prior to my surgery on 2/19. I'm looking forward to the rest. [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:2827]

    Day 17 after

This is day 13 post-op for me. I have 4 - 6 small meals each day. From the beginning, I tried to make sure I never went over one cup. So far, that has worked for me. I haven't had a fill and don't anticipate having one until next month. i think the lapband works. I just think it takes a lot of work on your own until you hit the green zone.

    reflux

You may already know all of this... What time of day do you take Nexium? And, do you take it daily? When I was having episodes at night, my doc told me to make sure I took the medication at bedtime. In addition, the medication should be taken daily, even when there are no symptoms. Protein...

Gout is a "medical condition usually characterized by recurrent attacks of acute inflammatory arthritis—a red, tender, hot, swollen joints."

    Protein...

According to the nutritionist I saw earlier today, too much protein can cause gout.
  21. I had surgery on 2/19. I felt light-headed usually upon waking in the morning. Later in the day, I felt tired and week. It didn't last very long, just the first week. Hang in there!

    Unjury protein powder

So far, the cheapest place I've found is to order it directly from their website http://www.unjury.com/store/protein. Even with shipping, it's still cheaper than the home health care stores that sell it locally.
