  1. Good luck all and speedy recovery... day 2 of liquid diet..so far soo good..tomorrow clear liquids and Wednesday away I go, I'm really shooting to be out of hospital in 1 day!!!
  2. Anyone else feeling overly emotional...I cried almost all day today....totally exhausted
  3. I told them the truth. I said I have finally made a life altering decision to get the fat monkey off my back forever. I have been very open with everyone...overall very supportive...I think they think it is a drastic step and they have seen me lose weight before..why not do it that way..my mom is totally against it which is tough..
  4. I seem to be the lucky one..I have been able to eat whatever I want on the lean and green diet as long as I Iost the weight I needed to in order to schedule my date. I will do clear liquids the day before surgery and regular liquids with puddings etc. for 2 days before that...sounds like everyone else has a much more structured plan...not looking forward to the bottle of lemon magnesium citrate....ughhhh
  5. Congrats and glad it was nomal, how are you feeling at 4 days out..I'm scheduled for the 6th? I would love to hear about your experience. Lori
  6. thank you for sharing and validating the positives
  7. So...I start liquids on feb 3rd....I'm feeling like I should eat whatever I want until februry 3rd because I may never be able to eat these foods again...does/did anyone else have these feelings, I'd hate to gain any of the weight back I have lost but dam...what about the food funeral? Thoughts? I'm not talking about pigging out. Hubby says lets go out to dinner tonight...I say...I'm going big or not going (meaning to me..no broiled fish..yes nice steak or pasta)...
  8. I bought the "fusion" brand in a wild cherry flavor. I have a terrible time with chewables and shakes and this one wasn't too bad, sort of like a sweetart and at least I didn't gag. The doctors office charged $25 for a bottle of 120 which is appx 40 days but I bet they are cheaper online somewhere.
  9. Never too old, I'm going to be 50 this year...good luck, this is a great place to talk to people and get advice and information. I'm schedule for the 6th and had preop appts. yesterday...12 days to go, I still can't believe I am really doing this.
  10. I haven't had to do shakes. I'm doing lean and green and then liquid diet starting the Sunday prior to surgery. I go for pre op on Thursday and hope to get more information then. Was originally going to do sleeve and then changed it last week to bypass. I'm not nervous at all, I'm just afraid I won't lose all the weight. I finally decided to start exercising and am mall walking during lunch and treadmill at home in the evening...it's a start...terrified of the shakes, haven't heard of a good one yet, also the chewable vitamins....Lori

  14. I was going to get the sleeve too and changed my mind. I am scheduled for the 6th. Mixed emotions here...
  15. I feel your pain. I was scheduled for Sleeve surgery on January 30th and after a long heart to heart with My primary care physician (and myself) she felt it better for me to have bypass, so with mixed emotions I have changed my date to February 6th and having the bypass. I'm scared as hell too!!
  16. Thanks all for being so open, I am scheduled for January 30th and it is great to be able to hear others experiences.
  17. wondering how you are feeling..I hope all went well
  18. Hi, My first formal appointment after the orientation was November 12th and I am scheduled for January 30thBe aware that some insurance companies make you be on a physician monitored 6 month weight loss journey before you can even start the process. Good luck

  21. Hello, I really appreciate being able to read this. I am scheduled for January 30th. How did you feel the 1st couple of days? I have an event 2 days after surgery, and I am wondering if i will be able to ride in the car for an hour and 1/2. It really isn't an event. I need to go my nephews hockey game and it is Sr. night (very important for our family) I know it sounds crazy but if I don't think I can go I will move the surgery out a week..any thoughts?

This whole weight thing is exhausting. I finally made the decision and started my process on November 12th. I had my 2nd weigh in today and have lost enough to schedule...I am having this surgery done on january 30th..I can't believe it...its time to get the monkey off the back once and for all. 40 years is long enough to carry this weight obsession, I'll be 50 in 2013 and my life will be just beginning.its terrifying.....Happy New year, this year really is a new year!!
