    I just feel like crying...

Babs I feel for you. I had?? have?? Female Alopecia Areata. About 8 years ago I started losing my hair. It started with a couple small spots. They were very strange round bald spots, they grew and grew within 3 months I had lost almost all my hair. I only had a few patches around my neck and on the sides. When it first started I went to my pcp and he told me that I had Alopecia, and that I could loose all of my body hair. He said there was no way of knowing if I would loose it all or not. That was about all that he said. 4 months later I saw another doctor he told me exactly what it was he said that you can tell by the roundness of the bald areas. He told me to buy a wig and my hair would be back in a year. Well he was right. But I was so devistated I think it was one of the hardest things that I have ever dealt with. I'll never forget going in to get sized for my wig. I cried all day, there was a lady there getting sized for hers. The owner could see that I was pretty upset and so she got me some tea, I told her what the doctor had said and she knew what I was talking about. She was very comforting, later she told me that the lady before me had cancer and wasn't expected to live much longer. She wanted to look her best no matter what. But to me she seemed to be as happy as could be getting a new wig. I felt so bad for being such a blubbering idot when she told me her story. She reasured me that it was ok, that my sadness was very much justified. It is not easy for any woman to loose their hair. Well I got my wig a week or so later, I wore it out one day and that was it, it sat in the closet. I never wore it again. I learned a very good lesson that day, I may loose my hair, but it could always be worse. Again I lost my hair a few years after that but only a few spots, nothing like the first time. I live with knowing that it may happen again at any time. I hope that my story gives you some comfort. I had no one to talk with at that time that could relate to what I was feeling. It is a very strange emotional thing. I really do understand your pain. If you ever want to talk about it, I am here for you.

    Update on my problem port

Lisa awesome job on your weight loss (melting fat) and on keeping a positive outlook. You are a inspiration to all of us. One day at a time is all you can do and you have done it well. Port or no port, look what you have accomplished, I believe with all that you have been through nothing can stop you. I was so glad to read that Lopez is going to step up to the plate. Now maybe you can get to the bottom of all of this. What ever it may be, we are all here for you and I know that you will be fine. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care,

    Anyone need size 22, 24, 26 clothes?

I could probably use the 22's but hopefully not for long. It sucks to be this short. I have lost 2 and 1/2 inches in the last 30yrs. I used to be 5ft 5 and 1/2 now I am lucky to make 5 ft 3. I just bought some sz 20 jeans but they are the stretchy ones.

    Scare to go to solids.

Lisa you live in Sedro Woolley? I think you are pretty close to me. I am in Castle Rock, WA. I had surgery in May 04. I too have a hard time staying off the scales. I think I have just came to accept that I am going to get on them. I know they say it is not good but I don't know about that. I think it keeps me on track. If it is up a day I really watch myself the next. I think it is hard to say if it is good or bad I think for some it is ok and not for others. I think it should be what ever works best for you. Either way best of luck to you. Maybe since we are so close we could meet someday?
  10. Hi Khadija, Welcome, you have found the best site. Best of luck to you!!!

    This one's serious...

Lisa I did the same thing with the pork rinds. I bought some thinking they would be like crackers. Oh no bad mistake. I pb'd twice and then again the next morning. They are sitting in the cupboard untouched since. I have found that the band is very fickle, one day I can eat something and it goes good. The next time it is like no way. So I don't think we can trust our bands they are just to darn fickle. It really is strange the things I can eat, like the whole darn bowl of buttered popcorn, chips, beef jerky.

    Where is YOUR port located?

I feel mine sometimes, sometimes not. Weird feeling but not painful. Below rib cage on the left. It bothers me sometimes to sleep on that side but you get used to it. I thought it was really strange when I had my fill. He hit it right in the center of my tummy above the belly button but he had me almost in a sit up position. It worked cause I definitely have restriction.

    PB Any advise????

I pb'd last night and then I had the burps forever. Usually after I burp quite a bit the uncomfortableness goes away. Not this time, when I drink water or anything cold I have a uncomfortable feeling for a bit. Hot stuff is not to bad but something feels different. Could I have hurt something in there? Do you think I am just sore from the pb'ing. I still felt kinda of uncomfortable this morning and then I pb'd again after drinking some water. I have done liquids all day today and I am afraid to put anything in there. Is it possible to just be sore from the pb'ing that I did. Or could something be stuck? I had my first fill 4 weeks ago and I have pb'd a couple of times but I have never felt like this. I burp so much it is unreal. Anytime I drink or eat anything I burp non stop. Last night it lasted longer than it ever has and now I feel this soreness. Any advise? I have always burped a lot since my surgery but it has gotten worse since my fill. Anyone else had this happen?

    PB Any advise????

Paula thanks so much for posting. I am almost sure that I had exactly what you had. It took about 3 days for it to let up. I am feeling much better, strange things these bands. But I love it, wouldn't want to be without it.

    Got Rumors?

Ditto, ditto and ditto everything said below Margret's post. I am a Lopez patient and called and called and called, no one ever returned my call. My surgery was in June and it is now November. How long does it take to get a return call. Did someone say it has been so much better since June. My surgery was June 21st and I called for months after that. Was there another June in this year that I missed, must have. It would have been really nice to have my records but thank god I found a doctor that would see me without them. Well I have said enough I think I got my point across.

    Sleep Apnea

I have quit using mine the last couple of months. I was doing the same thing taking the mask off and waking up all the time. I tried a couple different mask even the nose pillows one. I seem to be sleeping really good and I don't have headaches but I should probably be rechecked . When I first got the machine it wasn't so bad but I have struggled with it. Before I found out that I had it I would have a headache every morning. Hope it goes well for you and you can get rid of it. Sleep right oh I mean tight. LOL Good luck
