    Banded 4 hours ago...

Yes! I got up every 1-2 hours and did laps around my house. After one minute of walking you will literally feel the gas start moving around.

    Feb 4 Surgeries!!!

Glad to hear you are doing well, Susan! Each day gets exponentially better. I am actually going to my doc today for a check up and looking forward to getting out of the house. I can't believe it's been 4 days already. I don't know how people return to work on Monday though - I am working from home all week.

Good luck to Feb 1 Surgeries!!

Hi ladies. I am feeling a lot better today. The difference from Friday is amazing. I am not going back to work yet since I still need a couple days. I lay on the couch and then get up and do laps around the house. Most of my gas is right in my chest. Have you guys been able to eat? I only had water on Fri, water and maybe 8oz of skim milk yesterday and today I had some water, green tea, and 2 oz of soup. Even though my stomach is growling, I feel so bloated that I don't feel like eating. I am forcing myself to have more soup later. Are you guys getting your 64oz of water in? I can't get anywhere near that right now. By the way, I've never been so happy to need to pass gas! Ok here comes the major tmi, have you ladies had a BM? I haven't and starting to wonder if I should start taking something like MOM - I just don't want worse gas cramps. Let me know and good luck to the ladies going tomorrow!!!! WE CAN DO THIS!

Good luck to Feb 1 Surgeries!!

Hi everyone! I went home yesterday after surgery around 3:00. I had a very hard time with coming off the anesthesia. I also had a hard time going to the bathroom but it all worked out. Yesterday was horrible. I couldn't eat and just drank water. I was so sick to my stomach and I was freezing all evening. My face was pale. I also didn't realize I would have to pee every 45 minutes. Today is so much better! I drank some milk, took liquid Motrin and have been doing laps around the house.
  7. I am going to the hospital in 20 minutes for 7:30am surgery! I appreciate all of the encouragement all of you guys offer. I will see everyone on the other side!! I'm so nervous - I have never had surgery in my life to this is all new to me.

Thank you everyone!!! I'm home and about to take a nap. I was at the hospital a bit longer than expected because I had a hard time urinating (tmi?) but it all worked out. Thank you all again for your kindess

    Pre-Op Diet Support Thread :)

Cynthia, I think you are doing ok. No one is expected to be perfect. My nutritionist even said that often times they give very strict guidelines because they know people bend the rules a bit. I don't even have an official pre-op diet. I think it is 10% shrinking the liver and 90% trying to prepare your MIND for the after surgery and long haul that is living life with the band. This is my take on it but I am sure people will respectfully disagree. I look at it this way: I was going out to lunch and getting fast food on my way home more often than not. It was pretty disgusting when you think about it. Now, I have egg beaters in the am, protein shakes all day and yesterday I had a salad at dinner with just romaine lettuce and no other veggies. Maybe that isn't as strict as some of the diets other people have been put on but it is certainly 180 degrees from what I was doing before. Now why I only lost 3 pounds, that is yet to be determined

    Welcome, Feb Bandsters!

Yes, starting off Feb for the group by having surgery TOMORROW. Oh my goodness. I had an interesting experience yesterday. My doc does not have me on any special preop diet but because everyone else is on one, I figured I would do it too. I have been having mostly shakes and such every day. Yetserday, I went to the store to pick up some green tea, V8 fusion light, and sugar free popsicles for after surgery and had this undeniable craving for FOOD. So, I went and bought one of those light caesar salad kits and ate it for dinner. With that, my total calories for the day was about 800 yet I felt like I was given a treat by eating salad. What an interesting feeling. By the way, I wondered how people could be on this extremely low calorie diet and not lose weight but I must say that I have been under 800 calroies every day drinking protein shakes and drinking tons of water and I only lost 3 pounds. I don't understand!!

    Welcome, Feb Bandsters!

WOW, I was bored today and I remembered that when I lost 90+ pounds on a medically supervised bariatric diet a couple of years ago that my dr. asked me to submit a success story. I have gained a lot of the weight back (but not nearly all of it) but my success story is still up. I am determined to live up to that success story.
