  1. This afternoon:

Took stool softener pill b/c I've been on antibiotics and have barely pooped in a week (and am otherwise a daily BM kinda girl).

Pill (I think) gets stuck in esophagus.

20 min later pill still feels like it's lingering, but I have a perfectly normal BM.

  2. Ugh... feel good and I am SO glad I'm finally done with the gas pains in the shoulder... BUT Protein Shakes or not' date=' I am having huge issues getting in enough food/protein/calories.... it's making me crazy! Thrilled I'm full so quickly 2 1/2 weeks out, but don't want to get stuck in starvation mode either......help![/quote']

Are you able to get in with a nutritionist? S/he may be able to create a meal plan that will work for you specifically.

  3. I am wearing a shirt from Old Navy (xxl) I bought w/o trying on over a year ago. Got home and it fit terribly. All spare tire. Never wore it until today! And the capris (20) I couldn't get into at the start of summer and today after wearing them straight from the dryer for a few hours - are already starting to get a little baggy in places. Yahoooo!

  4. I think this varies by which fruits and veggies you are using but I've read that soaking the produce in cold Water for a bit before use helps remove some of whatever is causing gas. This article mentioned something specific a out broccoli and spinach this year having something in/on them that's been causing gas problems more significant than years passed. I'm having a brain fart on the name of the culprit tho.

  5. I have had no fills and I have exactly the same reaction to food. My clinic had me do a barium swallow and it showed I had quite a bit of restriction from Fluid put in during surgery but that it was not too much and since I lost more than the weight loss target of 5 lbs' date=' they thought my restriction level was fine. But, I told them I was very uncomfortable every time I ate, feeling like the food was stuck in my esophagus. It was not a bad "stuck" episode with sliming or PB'ing but uncomfortable nonetheless. The nurse said exactly what other responders have said, take tiny bites, chew at least 30 seconds and then wait at least 30 seconds to a minute before taking the next bite. There is an app for smart phones that will help you time your bites. I thought I was eating slowly but I was not...the timer really helps slow you down. Good luck![/quote']

What's the name of the app?

  6. Ditto! First fill yesterday. 4cc's. I was all nervous and asked about a numbing agent b/c I'd read here that many get that and my doc assured me I wouldn't really feel anything. He was totally right. His feeling around for the port was uncomfortable but not painful, and I hardly felt the needle at all. The sensation inside was.... Unusual. Can't say I've ever felt anything like it before. Hard to describe but I def knew something was happening in there :)

  7. So I am a week post op and was feeling really good today so I thought I would try a decent walk. I didn't get too far and I started having pain in my port area. I can't walk the gas away if it hurts like it does right now. Any advice?

I had that a week out as well. Walking slower and holding an ice pack over the port area while walking helped me. It took 2-3 weeks before I could really walk at a normal/brisk clip.

  8. So, I had a horrible scare yesterday and trust me, it takes a lot. I opened a new bag or Protein Shake mix, Cookies and cream, not sure why, I don't like cookies and cream but anyway, it was a zip lock type of bag but it was sealed shut so I had to cut the bag open. I make my shake, sit down and take a sip. It burned my throat, like it was acid. I should mention that it smelled odd, like burnt. I took it back to GNC and swapped it out. The girl said straight away that it smelled odd. Back to vanilla and chocolate!

    YIKES! that's awful!

  9. Today Is a not so good day:( can't seem to keep anything down. and when it comes back up there is a lot of Mucus also... Is this typipcal anyone know? im on day 12

Sounds like "sliming". From what I've read on here from ppl reporting similar things it is food or liquid backing back up your esophagus. This happens from eating/drinking too fast or possibly getting something stuck. Your body makes this slimy mucus to try and move the stuff thru the stoma. Might be worth calling your doc it you are concerned/if it continues even if your eating and drinking is at a glacial pace. Hope u feel better soon!

  10. Today in the shower I noticed I was able to shave certain areas with a lot more ease :)

I didn't even realize it until I was halfway done - that I wasn't struggling to reach places. My husband will be thrilled ;)

  11. I'm almost 2 weeks out and my hunger has def increased in the last few days, and I've stopped losing (tho cals in remain the same in a range btwn 650-900). From what I've read on here that seems similar to many others' experience.

Good luck w the fill - let us know how it goes! I've got another cpl weeks before mine and I'm curious abt what it will be like.
