I called anthem today to check the status and they said I was just approved today now I wait for my surgeons office to get word and I will be schedule in (looking at a 2 week turn around before surgery). It's exciting and what I want, so why am I anxious?? I'm not as excited as I thought I would be....help!

I have not been banded yet. I am type 2 diabetes. I have done my research and seen the good, bad and ugly. I personally have a bad relationship with food. As just like every bad relationship, you can stay and KNOW what you are dealing with and what you will be dealing with for as long as u put up with it or you can take a chance and risk it for the biscuit. I refuse to live my life with fluctuating weight, torturing myself because I'm so frustrated by the scale. I am not living to my fullest right now anyway! I am a prisoner of my own body so why wouldn't I take my chances? I hope you choose the right decision for you, but I know many people on here who will encourage this decision. I see these role models everyday and they just remind me that it's very possible even for me.

Wow what a great story!! I'm glad your hubby came around and is now so super proud of you. You deserve to have the support and he should be very very proud!!!! And there is noooooooo way I would back out this point. I couldn't imagine how I'd feel if I backed out. I owe it to myself!! Idk I'm gonna stay optimistic and maintain communication. I don't think he would ever admit he is insecure and I'm not even 100% sure that's it. Maybe he is just uncertain. Hopefully it will turn around for us after and he sees there is nothing to worry about. I just know this is the absolute right thing for me right now and nothing will keep me from it u look amazing keep it up!!!

Ill try my best to stabilize before hand. Maybe he just needs reassurance right now :/

Has anyone else seen the bumps in their marriage while in this process? I haven't even had the band yet and I'm already seeing some changes...an overwhelming statistic of people end up getting divorced after weight loss surgery . This is supposed to be one of the best experiences in my life and I feel like now it's being overshadowed by me trying to compensate for his insecurity. I love him but, it's hurts me a little that he is acting this way

I'm currently 24 and looked into this procedure when I was 20. I wish I would have done it sooner!!! Encourage her to really consider it! She has a role model and support system right in front of her!!!

Lol tawnya!!! I cooked for my family earlier and was like man I will be so glad to mix my shakes and call it a wrap. I can only imagine, not to pre op diet yet but I'm sure I will see my highly emotional and unstable post once I'm off my main vice! Carbs!

It's tough love, but veggies and Proteins will bring down ur sugars. And Gatorade will definitely make it spike!!! Sooo much sugar lol. How high was it?

I know with me, for at least my primary she is excited for the surgery. My sugar is elevated and im not running into any issues yet. Knock on wood
