  1. Question: I got my first fill today and was told to only have liquids today and tomorrow and soft foods like yogurt and cottage cheese for the next 2-3 days before returning to solid food. Has anyone else been told to do this? I am ok with it but just curious what other doctors are doing. Other than that, I love my band and have been feeling great and losing weight. Am down about 28 lbs since surgery on 1/16.

  2. I was banded on 1/16. I am an emotional mess today. I am feeling physically good and started the full liquid diet of my phase, my gas in my shoulder is still an issue but not unbearable. I am just hating this idle feeling. I normally start my day full speed ahead and do not sit down until dinner time. I am not really good at resting or sitting still. Feeling like I have ants in my pants. Anyone else feel that way in the beginning too?

  3. Hey everyone.. i got the band yesterday as well. So lets all keep in touch and share this.. I'm in pain. feeling nausea.. sipping my water.. feeling the gas..the gas bloating is the worst. When that goes away I will feel much better. Just tried to eat some Jello and ended up hacking up phlem. Not sure what that is about or if that is normal. Maybe i ate it to fast. I'm hating this so far. I hope I start feeling better sooner rather then later!

  4. Thank you all so much for the thoughtful and informative replies. It is hard to decide what to do because of the lack of information out there regarding plication. My surgeon has been doing it for only about 9 months. I am concerned about the lack of information/research but am also like the thought that it isn't a cutting of the stomach and it helps some to feel full.

I am still not 100% sure what I will do. My LapBand surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday (1/16). I am nervous and excited. I know that this is only a tool and am ready for the challenges ahead.
