Hey everyone... Just wanted to check in and say hello!!
I started my journey over a year ago to research sleeve surgery and had the surgery in March 2013 with Fernando Garcia thru Ready4Achange.com in Mexico which was a very simple, easy and no regrets experience... I owe him a huge thank you for giving me such a gift!
Im down over 50 pounds today and I feel amazing! 50 more to go to my goal but Im happy just to be this far! Some days I am a tiny bit more tired than others but most other days, I have this crazy energy and want to walk for miles....
but all days I have this new passion for life and well being!!
I love sharing my journey with others, especially those who arent even aware of this surgery! It gives me a way to hopefully empower others to get this same fantastic journey started if they so choose because I hope others feel as good as I do.
Not only do I feel and look good in clothing, but I really truly watch what I eat, not only to stay on the thin side but to stay on the healthy side!! This is the best nutrition and health education ever. When I look back on my old diet... What was I thinking?
Id be more than happy to answer any questions, I just wish for everyone the same feeling of independence, self worth and fulfillment of a goal this is givng me. This is not an easy way out, daily it is work, but so fulfilling!!
People who have never had a weight issue will never know the dark places being obese can take you to.... They dont understand us ... But I love seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and will never look back ....but I will also never forget where I once was!!
Happy Sleeving!
Also, attached is my so far before and afters and a little reminder I use daily of how to stay on track!!

He was not my doctor but I actually saw the show where Oprah went to OCC and met with Dr Ortiz with the teen about lap band years ago... He was indeed in the show and it was about him and how safe it was for a teen to do lap band performed by Dr Ortiz.... The episode was about Cassie going to Mexico an they showed all around OCC with Dr Ortiz then she had it done

I work in medical and am on the go most of my day so bringing my lunch isnt always easy... I am hoping to get some new fast food lunch options from those who have ideas!!
Im near a steak and shake and love cottage cheese, grilled chicken breast and even the chili but sometimes that gets old.
Any other options???

Thats too bad... Sorry your experience was not good..
I used Ready4Achange.com and was treated very well, no issues at all, they were first class, good communication and they provided tons of aftercare and supplies

Can someone recommend where to get the Biotin in sublingual form? I also need it in the B complex. My pill crushing is horrible...tastes and smells horrible. However my NUT recommends 100mg of Thiamine in it...the b complex.Puritans Pride website has sublingual Biotin

2 1/2 weeks out... Sleeved March 21... Down 25 lbs and doing great... I do get tired in the afternoons a bit but back to work 9-5, I drink a Protein Shake for Breakfast (esa, nectar or unjury), one for lunch and cottage cheese and pureed chicken or crab for dinner, sugar free Jello or pudding for snacks...

Yes this has been the very best gift I could have ever given myself!! Great ideas guys, thanks!!'

Yes I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!! Easily and it has been a easy process especially when I took the time to educate myself, prepare my family and prepare for it well in advance and know this is not a quick fix but a new lifestyle!!
My marriage is happier and healthier because the healthier ways have been very easily embraced and adapted by my husband and even kids!
The new confidence that I now can control my food, make healthier choices in my lifestyle and destiny of my health and body feels so much better than feeling hopeless, failed and out of control that I used to feel!!
This is my second chance and can still go out to dinner and be social and am having fun choosing different options and new foods.... I have amazing energy, spirit and what a new world this has opened for me... Looking forward to the future...
i know everyones experience will differ for so many different reasons and I feel for those who have not had a pleasant time with it but this has been nothing but pleasant and I have been very lucky to have such support from family, friends & coworkers!
My Cup is always half full!!

Do NOT use the dentist at Mi Hospital... Was a huge mistake, thought it was convenient.. Was barbaric.. and came home to spend a ton to fix it!!

I arrived at 11:15-11:30am pick up time, had surgery 4 hours later.... Got it in and over with and the past 3 days have been much more pleasurable and relaxing...I just told Alma it is what I wanted to do so more time to recooperate after at hospital then hotel, seemed like a waste of a hotel night and not so much back and forth...much after 2 pm was kind of cut off...just need time for tests and paperwork and settling in, they prefer if you show up wearing basic compression garments from your flight but I didn't, forgot! Still did it, no issues.... And no eating or drinking 8 hours prior!!! Important!! (Passed up drinks on plane, even the water!)

I totally understand the point that you are trying to convey about the Amish liking a certain hospital. That was not a determining factor for me to change from MiDoctor. Not that Oasis isn't good but I just haven't seen enough "hard core" proof that MiDoctor is not as good a hospital as Oasis. Maybe I am missing something' date=' or have missed but we all have different opinions on what we like and are all different. I have been talking with SEVERAL ppl that have just left MiDoctor and they didn't have a problem AT ALL with the hospital....same as florence I've heard good things about them too....just trying to find proof that MiDoctor isn't a good hospital, not primarily based on opinion?!?! PLEASE HELP I am having surgery soon and need to decide where I am having my surgery![/quote']
I think it will boil down to what feels right for you....myself and others can only share their experiences personally and take what you will from it, we go into this fairly blind... I have posted pictures in detail from my Mi hospital experience of my surroundings while I was there in another post/thread from earlier a few days ago in the self pay Mexico thread..., I hope you can find enough for both places to Make a sound decision for you.....
You will find good and bad for both, silly enough, even just depending on something as basic as just how someone's day is going...
You need to go with what in your gut feels like a sound decision for you!! God bless and I wish you nothing but the very best! Looking forward to hearing about your outcome! Piece of cake, you got this!!

Thank you Kyeta96. For a couple of weeks now I've been scared & upset I have to take this journey alone. I was very concerned with recovering home alone. I'm prepared & I have everything I will need but it still doesn't remove the fear. I know God is taking this journey with me.
I promise you.... I just did this journey.... Let go and put your trust in god and prepare, expand your knowledge, it's much easier than we expect, especially when you have knowledge on your side!! You will do great!
