  1. i also quit with ecigs. 40 year smoker and could hardly breathe. it will be 2 years on 5/16 without a cigarette. down to 6mg of nicotine and hopefully one day i will quit altogether. i buy mine from cropduster901 i use echo-e kit. tony is the owner and is very helpful. he also sent me one to try without charging me. great customer service. they gave me breathing treatments after my band surgery because of the years of smoking and it really helped.

  2. Don't get too discouraged. I went through this too. I finally weighed in at 199 and was so so excited but not so fast! For the next 2 1/2 weeks I jumped between 200 and 202 and that 199 evaded me. I was so upset that I went to the movies and ate as much popcorn with lots of butter as I could. I figured this was going to make me feel better since I wasn't losing anyway. Well it tasted so so good but I ended up getting stuck cause ate way too much then was mad at myself. I went immediately back to band eating and stayed off the scale for several days. I knew the pounds had to come off eventually because I was doing all the right things. When I finally got back on the scale it read a cool 195! So don't give up hope. I read somewhere that fat turns to liquid so it can be expelled and the liquid can be retained in your body for a while. I can usually tell when I am up all night in the bathroom that the pounds are coming off. Other nights not so much. I wish you all the best!

  3. Alex, Thank you for your response. I think the greatest concern that I have with what is searchable through google is my activity history. For example, every topic I have ever viewed under my username is returned in Google search results even though I have not made any comments on the topic. I am in no way embarrassed or ashamed of having WLS, quite the contrary. I just don't like the fact that activity history is even captured. There is another weight management site that does the same thing per my recent google search. Funny that I am a member of well into 100's of sites and the only ones that are capturing the activity history and extended to search engines are these 2. I just find that bothersome. It is no one's business what topics I view. Now if I were to make a comment, that is very different because the terms are clear about that.

Having said that, I enjoy the site so no plans to leave it. Just will be more cautious.

  4. I realize posts become public to those that are intentionally on this site, however, I do not expect all my activity history to be searchable via an internet search engine. This is something that can and should be prevented. I think this goes beyond the privacy terms as there is no mention of capturing members' activity that has nothing to do with posting and making it public. Privacy terms: your postings on this public forum will become public. Your text will be available to anyone with an internet connection.

  5. Fellow lapbanders I discovered a problem I want to share with you. I did a google search on my former username and was shocked that google returned my entire history of activity on this site, including my profile and picture, every post I have ever viewed or commented on! I have since changed my username and deleted my picture because I commonly use my old username for a lot of other things and people know me by it. I was under the impression this was a private site! I have contact lapbandtalk about this issue but wanted others to be aware and also ask th at you join me to notify the site owners of this privacy issue

  6. My local doctor is a bariatric doctor who does my fills. People have complications with the newer bands as well. Just sharing my experience and yes I paid what I could afford and hope I don't have any problems. So far I am losing weight and that was my goal.

  7. I was weighing myself every morning but there was a 2 week period where I was gaining and losing the same 2 pounds. I know I was eating the right things and should have been losing. I was getting very discouraged and in the past before the band that was a sign for me to start eating what I wanted because why should I suffer if I am not going to lose. This time I decided to ignore the scale for a week and be strong and stick with it. low and behold I lost 5 pounds. The scale can be your best friend and worst enemy.
