  1. Ok guys I need help,,,advice,,,whatever it takes to help me get these last 10 lbs off. I had my surgery in dec 12. Lost 75 lbs pretty fast,,but geese the past 2 months are at a stalemate !!! Last week I finally hit the 159 mark. I was in 160s for 2 months or more. This morn right back in 160s. ... I follow the Lapband rules very closely,,so is there anything else I can do??? What r carb busters? Help,, I'm drowning here :(

  2. Nope... Never smoked a day in my life. The first thing out of my surgeons mouth was " did you lie to me? Are you a smoker?" I reassured him I have never smoked. And im not around any smokers. The best we can figure is that some how the blood flow was restricted at a crucial time in those few hours after surgery. I may have slept with my arm pushed up against the incision or maybe the ace wrap bunched around the wound. He said it was rare to have tissue loss in such a healthy person but sometimes it just happens.

Ok thanks,,, I have read a lot on ps gone wrong. I'm a little scared. So glad your doing well,,keep up the good work,,, and I'm glad your not a smoker,,it's bad for ya???³

  3. I guess since the incision lines for the abdominalplasty were so clean and I had very little bruising and since it was considered the more serious of the two surgeries' date=' we were just surprised how black and blue the girls were. They were so swollen and mis-shaped. Now (almost two weeks outs) they are much better. However I did have. Complication of escemea (sorry thats spelled incorrectly) meaning I had poor circulation to the incision and I have had some tissue loss to that breast. Because of that I won't have a neat scar. But he said when it heals, he will go back in and revise the scare. It won't be prefect, but he said it should be fine.[/quote']

I have a question,, r u a smoker? Is that why your breast DIDNT heal right??? I'm having a lift and implants at end of July and my ps told me I had to quit smoking 4 weeks before surg. Now I'm worried I won't heal right.

  4. There won't b any criticism from me :). And every once in a while I have to let it rip too,,, but I don't ever throw up food, ,only slime. And that is instant relief. I can go for weeks and do great,,then I screw up and eat too fast or too much and there I go,,, I'm about 6 months post op,,have lost 71 lbs and still learning. I try but sometimes screw up :)

  5. 65 awesome!!! What are the top 3 things you do to achieve such success?

    Lee

First thing is my determination ,, second is I do and eat exactly what my band ask for,,, third is moderate exercise. I'm not a powerhouse worker-outer lol. I'm in the green zone and loving band life !!!

I have some friends this week visiting from ky,, they were AMAZED on my weight loss. They DIDNT even recognize me at first!!! A million questions was asked about lb,, they were in awe!!!! No one in their city does lb. they would have to go to tenn. or Indiana :)

Anyway I felt great on how they bragged on me,,,first time in many yrs that relieved those kinds of compliments!!! Sure made me happy!!!!

  6. Thank you all for the responses. I ended up feeling more restriction today' date=' thank God! I just don't understand this fickle band sometimes. I will share that there is a little bit more to my issue. I got my call back from my doctor this morning and she tells me that my pouch is bigger that it should be. I seriously stretched my pouch once already and had to be on liquids for 6 weeks - man it was awful, but was effective!!!!! This time my doc tells me that the pouch is not as stretched as last time and to correct it she told me to measure my meals (1 cup and preferably less) and I should be good in 4-5 weeks. She mentioned it at the fill, but, didn't seem to be as concerned.

If I can be of any help to anyone, I know how I stretched my pouch. I know I've posted this many times, but, just one more time if it will help even one person. I keep a loose band because of my severe seasonal allergies. Because of the loose band, I rarely have stuck episodes, which is nice, but, I can also get away with eating bigger bites and not chewing my food well. Chewing your food is one of the critical golden rules for bandsters that can get you in trouble if not compliant. My meal volumes were never larger than a cup, but, my bites were rarely small and I did not chew well enough. Small bites and CHEW, CHEW, CHEW!!! A stretched pouch can be corrected if caught in time, but, trust me it is harder than the 2 week pre-surgery Protein diet. Be careful. Jake[/quote']

Thanks for the reminder. I really need to chew longer too :)
