    For those who have PCOS

I KNOW exactly what you mean-my husband and I have been doing the same thing for the past 3+ years-just leaving it in the hands of God. Well it sounds like you really love your babies (and DH) and that's all that matters-have a great day!!!!

    Slow Losers Unite!

Weird! So you had to go back under the knife to get it "re-locked"? I'm assuming it wasnt just flapping around but because it wasn't locked it was expanding and causing the lack of fullness??

    Slow Losers Unite!

I've been working out faithfully for months(3-5x a week depending on my mood), I also mow the lawn 1=2X week (thanks to weed/feed it grows fast) , clean my house daily, chase my 3 old daughter all day long, walk the dog several times a day and just dance around alot acting like a total geek so I know I get alot of exercise and guess what? I don't lose very fast at all, but i'm WAY ahead of where i'd be if I hadn't had this surgery so i'm accepting that fact (sometimes I have my days) but overall i'm quite pleased. I see men (and sometimes women) noticing me again and I love the attention and my husband can't keep his paws off of me (lol) I was banded May '07 and have only lost 41 lbs..and hey that last pound took me over two months! (I just weighed in this am and got that result and was sooooo happy) in fact looking back at my history I was only down 15 pounds for most of the first 7-8 months after my surgery-so if it makes you feel any better you're ahead of me in weight loss! It was my November '07 slight unfill that I really started to see some weight loss (I was too tight after the Aug. fill and was miserable and couldn't eat hardly anything) Keep working towards it and make sure and get lots of water in.

Wow, glad the baby scare turned out okay... I can totally relate to the emotions you had regarding letting your DH touch your face, it's something you can't put into words isn't it? congrats on that wonderful stepping stone...

Renewedhope? Any changes? Did it come or did you take another test? Is a baby a good thing or not so good for you? Every month when I show i'm ovulating (now) WHICH I got to tell you still FREAKS me out as this is so NOT how the first 30+ years of my life have worked so far, I think about whether it's a good thing (having another baby) or not -i'm approaching 39 and I can't decide if I want to take that plunge, but for some reason I just cant seem to make the definite "no" really feel right....ya' know?

    For those who have PCOS

Well please be patient, I don't know if it's typical (probably not) but i'm a super slow loser and I eat less than my 3 year old daughter! I just weighed today and I lost a pound but it's been 2 months since my last pound was lost!!!! I completely blame my PCOS and hormone imbalance because I know MOST people doing the same routine as me would show more results. I've been alot more active since summer is here too and I may be putting on more muscle but I thought muscle was supposed to HELP weight loss not JUST add weight gain (not that i've put any weight on) but on the plus side, my waist is smaller and the scale tells me i'm 1% less body fat than I was since May! I've been trying something new these past couple week (I eat a couple of almonds after each meal, only 2-4 nuts - not many as they have alot of calories) I read that the good fat is supposed to help weight loss and apparently it works as I lost a pound!!!!! Lets see if it continues to work....I also am trying to eat more (which for those of you with bands are aware is such a hassle) so what I do is when I feed my 3 year old I try to take a bite of her food and with that and MY meals i'm eating more often.

    For those who have PCOS

I feel you, after I went through my first divorce the thought of dating again and having anyone try to get that close to my stubble was simply horrifying so I went to have laser treatement....OMG...it was like the BEST thing I ever did. After about 2-3 treatments I had NO more of the thick creepy beard type hairs and even to this day I still see some "dark" ones on occasion (I go back 1-2x a year for maintenance) that I just cut off or pluck between treatments (not recommended but hey you got to do what you can live with) but after the hair started disappearing-my complex completely changed-I quit getting those pimples (probably due to not only hair growth, but picking plucking and heavy makeup) and get this, the first time I was kissed again (sigh) he touched my face and it was so intimate (gasp) I felt like I was sixteen again....tee hee-that was several years ago, I'm remarried (happily) now. They started out on Low settings with me as they were worried about burning me but as I progressed they set the laser to a higher setting. I think they are using the Apogee machine? and I go to the NUVO MedSpa in our local mall.

Hey just thought I'd drop a note to let you all know that my periods are back (not that I have EVER had regular ones in my life unless I was on BC pills and even then not always) but the past 5 months they are like clockwork! Still not losing much weight since the first 40# but definitely making some hormonal changes...my OB/GYN is thrilled (glad someone is, I can tell you all I did not miss them)

    May 2007 Banders

I weighed in for the month and guess what? NOTHING changed! I really thought I would see a difference in the scale due to the fact that we were on vacation for a week (yes normally I would gain due to eating out alot etc, but we camped and didn't have access to junk food, snacks etc) and I ate very small portions (mostly salads and tomatoes with skim mozzarella and fresh fruits/veggies) and snacked VERY little and was quite active but nothing changed. I'm really ticked off...to top it all off, now that i'm down 40#'s I'm getting regular periods (have only had about 3-5 in the past 4 years) and guess what came while on vacation? You guessed it, my TOM (while camping nonetheless) it sucked! Okay, i'm done venting and being negative....there is SOME good to this, I dropped another inch off of my waist and the scale states i'm down in % of body fat (previous to weight loss was 50% according to my scale-not sure how correct this is as it's just a digital scale you stand on, but it has always stated this number consistently and then it had dropped to 48% a couple months ago with the majority of my weight loss but this month it dropped to 47%) so I guess even though I haven't lost i'm less "FAT"...whoo hoo (sarcastic and ticked off) thanks for listening ......or er reading ..

I LOVE this thread and always refer back to it each time I go for a fill....it doesn't matter how many times you get one, you feel there's always something you forgot and if you want to get a "refresher" you may want to keep this subscription for future reference ....have a great day!

    May 2007 Banders

Well it's been a year and although i've been really stressing about EVER posting ANY pics of myself online (I mean you never know who may get ahold of them and try to use them in a bad way...right? LOL) anyway, I posted recent ones on the photo thread, but here's a side by side....it makes me happy to see these so this is actually therapeutic as i've been down on myself for only losing 40#, but you know what? I don't look to bad and I FEEL good and i'm noticing people are looking at me again (men and woman) so it's good to be a part of society again and if you've ever been overweight you know EXACTLY what i'm talking about! Love you fellow May Bandsters and keep up the good work...let's make 2008 an even skinnier and healthier year!? First one is last year's summer cruise and the second is me on the train to Seattle last weekend.
  19. Wait here is a picture of me taking the train to Seattle last week (it's only a head shot but you can see alot less cheeks)!!!!!!! yeaaaahhhhh
  20. side view...first is after and second is before 40#'s lost...
  21. These are around March and I've lost a little more since then, but have nothing recent.

    Nurseamy's tummy tuck/Lipo/Mastopexy

I would totally do it if flying down to TX and having it done was as easy as having some dental work, but since aftercare is a BIG issue with PS, I'm going to have to do if from somewhere closer to home...Darnit...

I too was denied by insurance and had made up my mind so I went self pay as well. You'll find if you want it bad enough no one will stand in your way...I would definitely appeal and if you can get your Dr. on your side that would help. Good luck!

Good for you, I too need to stay away from the chocolate and ice cream and popsicles....I haven't been able to eat alot as I irritated my stoma and i've gotten in a bad bad habit again....you inspire me though knowing i'm not the only one who fights this...hello how did all these people get chubby in the first place if they were able to resist such temptations....I feel like such a loser sometimes....
