  1. Yay congrats! I am having pain. Are you on any pain meds? They have me on Vicodin and it just doesn't seem to be cuttin it. I had my gallbladder out in June and I was on Percocet then which worked great. I think I will ask if I can switch...

Yes they prescribed me Vicodin as well and it's working fine for me. You should definitely ask your dr to switch everyone reacts different to meds differently and plus you need to be comfortable. Are you having the gas pains?

  2. From everything I have read... It looks like you have to go on a 2 week liquid diet prior to getting band. Why is this? I feel that would be extremely tough. Not to be snarky but I feel that if I was capable of that' date=' I would not need the band.[/quote']

My Dr did require a 2 week liquid diet but I saw it more as a practice for after surgery. Imagine little restrictions then bam only liquids plus you just had surgery and miserable from that. The liquid diet made it easier for me when I was healing from surgery and plus you lose weight to jump start your new life!

  3. B52 as one of those newbies your story is inspirational to me. Sounds like your not missing out on anything and still being able to enjoy a dinner out is awesome. That was one of my fears: "what am I going to do when we go out to eat?" And now I know I can have my healthy meal and not focus on company and not stuff my face like I always do. Thanks!

  4. I was on my 2 week liquid diet (through the holidays I must add) when I was on my last day the Dr office called and said the ins denied me. After suffering missing Christmas dinner and Christmas parties I had to jump through red tape with the ins and do it all over again. Well I finally got the call yesterday I was approved and scheduled for next fri. Jan 18th. I understand about the frustration though but I guess we all have obstacles to overcome. Good luck to you.

  5. Well I finally got the call my surgery has been set for January 18! I'm scared, excited, nervous, and ready all at the same time. The only thing I'm going back and forth with is telling people. My husband, mom, sis, mom-in-law know but really only because I need help taking care of my daughters (my Dr is out if town). But my husband thinks I should tell my friends. I trust my friends but I'm afraid of the judgment. We all have judgement and I don't want them saying things behind my back. Did y'all tell?

  6. I too didn't want to tell a lot of people only my immediate family and husband of course. But with my Dr being out of town people were wondering why I was all of the sudden going to San Antonio every month (I live 2 hrs away) so my husband started telling people which infuriated me. It was my choice who knew and he didn't understand why I would keep this a secret. He was like they're going to notice you're losing weight and what are you going to tell them? I told him that I didn't want all of the questions and judgement. It's a private issue and like everyone on here has said it's no ones business but our own. Just wish I could've controlled who knew more. Good luck to everyone!
