  1. Appreciate the responses. I guess I should have posted how I felt before I did what I did. I just spend a couple minutes reading about damage I could have done and I didn't realize I could cause complications now nor later as band slippage. Ya not only is this scarry but I could loose my band. I didn't realize that a small amount of food could ruin what I have wanted all my life...to b thin. Wow I feel like crying now. I'm gonna call by docs tomorrow n have a confession session with him.

  2. So I'm on day 13 post-op n have been having more n more BLT'S. I should b having mushy food only. I want someone to scare me cause I'm not sure what type of damage I could b doing. Overall I'm doing well on my mushys but for instance last night I made some chicken n had a couple bites n today I had 1 teriyaki chicken wing. I feel like I have no restrictions. I have been following the 1 cup 3-4 Times a day n my doc said he tightened my band a little at surgery. I won't see him till another week.

  3. This post is so helpful. Have been battling in my mind. Any Spirit filled Christians out there?

Sure are!!! I knew God was on my side because I was so comfortable n went to surgery at peace. I had no worries. About a week before surgery, I too almost called it off but decided to go on with my decision. Good luck to you. Will keep u in my prayers n ALL JANUARY BANDSTERS as well!!

  4. Hello' date='

Day 1 of the 14 day diet is winding down. I do have a slight headache, but all else seems good, I have had two bariatic advantage shakes, and 1 bar so far. It all seemed fine until I came home and turned on the TV. The fast food commercials are killing me. I am craving something warm. I am permitted to have broth, but of course do not have any. Does anyone know if

bullion cubes are ok? I keep telling myself why I am doing this, and that helps alot,

    Thanks, Daron[/quote']

How bout some warm tea with splenda

  6. Hi all...thanks for all the good wishes out there. Glad to have heard from you Moses...was getting concerned. Had the surgery yesterday' date=' stayed overnight and got home today. So glad to be on the other side. Not as bad as I had feared. Lots of belly soreness, but no gas pain and the pain killers have worked on my knee so I am waling and moving around much better than I had expected. Some nausea upon awakening in recovery, but got a shot and have been OK since. Have been drinking Water and crystal lite...and a little Jello. Not very motivated to drink so much but I know I have to. Not truly hungry but am wondering how I'll be in a couple more days once the pain decreases. Have a post op appointment at the doctor next Wednesday. Have to get an esophagram to check that everything is working correctly. Very glad that I am able to work from home so no need to rush back to the office.[/quote']

I got my appetite back on day 6. Day seven I was really hungry. And btw I was nauseated on days 4-5. The nutritionist said its normal just try to get the Protein in. I couldn't even do that day 4&5

  7. I was confused too. Everyone kept talking about the liquid diet before sugery but my doc only has me on an "atkins type" diet for 2 weeks pre-op. I'm on a 1' date='200 calorie no sugar, no bread, no 'white food', no alcohol. 20-50 grams of carbs (mainly from veggies). When I asked my doc he said it was because I didn't have any co-morbidities and in overall good health. Ask your doc before changing your pre-op diet though. Good luck! I'll be going in a week before you so I'll let you know how it is![/quote']

I didn't have any co-minorities either but I had to do a 2 week liquid diet. Docs all have different rules. Maybe cause peeps will go off diet if given a little room to eat or cheat. I just went with it. It wasn't too bad I was overall satisfied. The key is very high Protein. My diet was liquid, 80-100 grams of protein, 800-1000 calories, low carbs n low sugar. Now I'm at 13 days post op n am finding myself having more n more BLT's when I'm supposed b just on mushy foods.

  8. Yes it does..I'm 4 days post op and I can't get comfortable. I can lay down for a little' date=' but then I get real uncomfortable. Then I sit up in bed for awhile and try to get comfortable. I have been ending up going and trying to sleep in my lazy boy, sometimes I can and sometimes I can't. Last night was a bad night, no matter what I did I couldn't get rid of my shoulder pain. I only slept about 2 1/2 hours total last night :([/quote']

I slept on like 4 pillows propped up pretty high.

  9. Hi y'all. I was banded on the 2nd of this month (12 days) and just want to congratulate all the new n soon to bandsters n wanted to talk a little bit of everything that I have been reading on this thread n a little bout what I have been going through. Apparently I'm still in the healing stage but I feel like I'm back to normal. So at the hospital I received lots of pain killers during n before surgery. I also got a patch for nausea that last 72 hrs n it literally did. Up to day 3 I felt okay. Very little gas pain, very little incision pain n no nausea. Once my patch reached its third day I was very nauseated for about 2 days n could barely even drink from the nauseated feeling. Day 6 felt much better n got an appetite. Day 7 I felt hungry bout every 2-3 hours. My doc told me I could have blended foods now n to have lots of blended Protein so it would last.I'm not gonna lie I have been cheating some n have had some food not blended. Hope I haven't done any harm. Bout the whole bathroom thing I was constipated until I started eating blended foods that included veggies n some fruit. N ya going pee was weird once I got home from the hospital. I would go n stop n felt like my bladder was still full but I sat until I finished. So my doc told me I had a small fill at surgery n to come for my first fill 4 weeks after surgery. I really feel no restrictions but I'm trying to teach myself to eat slow. Bout 30 min per meal. I have been eating 1 cup of food 3-4 Times a day n overall feel satisfied. When I'm hungry I eat. I had gained 4 lbs right after surgery n since then have lost 8 making it a total of 17 lbs down since my pre-op diet (almost 4 weeks) Well this has been my journey so far. Good luck n a safe recovery to all of us. My prayers are with each one of you everyday.

  10. So I did just come back from seeing the surgeon. He said it most likely slipped. Since I do live kinda far he decided it would be best to empty it and for me to come back in 4 weeks to start filling it again. There was actually 4.8 cc in. I wasn't aware he put some in during surgery too. I was told usually it can just fix itself. I was told I have been losing about 2 lbs a week since surgery. I still avoid stepping on the scale.

Hi. I'm kinda new but am curious about what you said. The doc said the band may have slipped. So by him unfilling it, will that make your band go back to its place? I thought removal or an adjustment was the answer to that?

  11. 6 weeks post op. I got 4cc and I lost another 9 pounds. So I have lost 22 post and 52 total. Yay me!!

Wow congratulations. I can't wait to b there. I won't get a fill till week 4 post-op but doc said I had a small fill at surgery. Ya I'm starving at times but he said if I'm hungry to eat. Just keep up high Protein to stay satisfied longer n lots of Water. I'm eating bout 3/4 cups about 4-5 Times a day. Hope that's fine.

  12. I'm only seven days banded n am curious. So does this mean you need to go for a fill. N just how much are you ladies eating. I've heard the average amount Is about 1 cup. My doc said I should see him in 3 weeks n that I barely got a fill during surgery. I feel satisfied at about 3/4 cup of food n am trying to keep the high Protein to stay satisfied longer.

  13. Us 5 days seems like along time. Without Protein ya it gonna b starving. I was on creamy Soups n was told to make it with ff milk n I should enrich my milk with nonfat powder for the added protein. I was extremely nauseated but once I started on the soups felt way better. I'm on my 7 day pre op n have been approved to now have blended food. Feels even better, but I do have to eat slow. I barely have any fill n doc said if I'm hungry to eat. I can barely get about 3/4 of a cup in n feel satisfied but if I don't have the protein I'm starving again in just about 2 hours. Total new way of eating.

Cassieb sorry to hear it still in the hospital. Keep in touch with your progress. N I'll say a prayer for you! Feel better!!
