Who Got Stuck For Thanksgiving?
It wasn't any thing for me, but more the process of grabbing a bite here and there as I cooked the meal. I am coming to understand that the band regulates the process of eating, not just the quantity. To many times I get stuck because I am in a hurry.

Medifast Post Banding
JMHO, but you need to stop thinking diets, you need to start thinking lifestyle. If you are like most of us, you have lost the weight a hundred times, only to gain it back again. Medifast is not going to teach you how to listen to your band, because it is liquid will will not give you the satiety signals that solid food eventually will. Even if you loose weight with Medifast, you won't be any farther along in your changed lifestyle. I know it is hard to hear this, but slow and steady is what will win this race. Learn to use the band, learn to be the band.

Day 6 Post Op Eating Solid Food With No Problems! Is This Ok
So the question is, "Is it Ok to ignore my Dr's orders"? The answer: Only if you know more about the band than the person who installed it. Think it through. The Dr. didn't give you those instructions because he is a killjoy who wants to punish you. He gave you those instructions because they will give you the optimal outcome for your surgery, and reduce the risk of you ending up on his table again to have a slip (or worse) fixed.

Is Pizza Band Friendly.
Like B-52 said, varies from person to person, and in my case day to day. Some days if I go slow enough I can get through a piece or two, other days it is a guaranteed clog. To the point now where it simply isn't worth the trouble.

Jacket Lengths
Same here. I have to roll up the sleeves on my bathrobe now.

Cycling Newbie
If your seat is hitting on your sit bones, then you are doing it right. Too many times people think the more cushioning is the answer and in reality is what is causing the problem. I started on hybrid, had a gel seat and wore biking shorts, no matter how much I would ride my butt would be in agony after 10 miles. I eventually graduated to a true road bike, with a rock hard seat, and after a month of riding that I could easily put 20 - 30 miles on with no discomfort. I just recently picked my my first mountain bike and it has the same type of seat, very little padding. I did a 9 mile circuit yesterday with a 1,000 foot climb and while my sit bones were a little tender from being pounded as I was going over rocks, it was the least of my aches.

New Forum Is (Not) So Sad!
My pet peeve is the exercise forum is not part of the "general" WLS forum and not the LB forum, view new content only show me LB posts which I like, but doesn't show me new exercise posts. I see the value in having a common exercise forum, but I have been posting my exercise threads under differing topics in the LB forum since I am mainly interested in sharing with the friends that I have made in LBT. So to try and put it more clearly, if "new content" showed me LB forums, as well as general, but not forums specific to other surgeries that would be my druthers. Also while you are at it Alex, can you please settle the conflict in the Middle East? I was going to ask for "World Peace", but felt that was just silly.

My surgery was 4 years ago today. Feeling Blessed!
Way to go CF, sometimes I feel that I should have lost more than I have after 10 months, but for me it isn't the scale that is telling, it is my quality of life. (I am jealous of the running though ) But your story puts my mind back on track...

I Only Crashed Once!
It's not you CG, the link keeps changing after I put it in. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/408513215 Ok, it appears to be staying this time. I stopped using the link button and just pasted the URL in. Weird.

I Only Crashed Once!
Nope, I did. I fixed the link.

I Only Crashed Once!
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/408513215 There is a certain sense of exhilaration as you are riding through a series of large boulders when you feel your rear wheel lifting up over your head and you see a rock coming towards your face

Topic Locked Question
Actually there is value, if nothing else it shows how you shouldn't respond to a topic. I know that Alex will delete posts and threads that break the rules. Locking sometimes is just a way of telling people that "enough, is enough" and let's move on.

Time Saving Smoothie Tip.
Like many banders, in the mornings my band is tighter than a "bull's ass at fly time", and I start the day with a protein/fruit/vegetable. Trouble is, that can often be time consuming and messy as I am trying to get out the door to work. I have been trying different things to speed the process up, but haven't been exceptionally happy until this morning. Last night I blended a big batch of strawberries, spinach and Chobani zero fat vanilla yogurt in my ninja and then dumped it into my cusiinart ice-cream maker and then put the resulting green mixture into a tub in the freezer. This morning when I went to make my smoothie, I simply scooped out some green ice cream into my ninja and then dumped in a costco Protein shake, hit the blend button for 30 seconds and was done. Because I had spent extra time with the fruit and vegetables making sure they were the correct consistency, the drink was perfectly smooth with no grittiness or chunks. The only thing I think I am going to do differently is scoop the ice cream mixture into muffin tins and once they are firmly frozen, move them to a plastic bag, so I can just grab a couple and pop them into the blender. http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-Indulgence-2-Quart-Automatic-Frozen/dp/B0009N7O9I/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1384791893&sr=8-6&keywords=cuisinart+ice+cream+maker

Gas! Gas! Gas!
Have you considered a large cork? Seriously, I have been banded for 10 months now and have never found anything that would make a dent in it. Beans make it worse, but it is always there. But I will settle for a little flatulence in exchange for the new life I now have. Besides, it makes me go faster on my road bike!

Lapband Vs Sleeve Vs Bypass Surgery
I am really happy about the foreign objects in my body, aside from my band, I have two artificial knees and would probably be in a wheel chair rather than a mountain bike if it weren't for them. Heck, feeling the port under my skin is very comforting, lets me know that it is real and things are different now.

I'm Done
Hiatal hernias are fairly common with or without the band. My surgeon repaired mine when he put my band in. As for your symptoms, I would definitely check with your Dr. on the pain, it could simply be scar tissue, but your health is too important to risk.

Causes Of Hunger...
I would drink 6-7 diet cokes a day pre-band, now I rarely have anything with artificial sweeteners in it (Even stopped drinking crystal light), while not a scientific study, I personally feel it has made a difference in my hunger levels.
