  1. The Doctors have seen it all, nothing you tell them is going to shock them. Your fear is helping to keep you fat. Man up, and go back to see them. I personally feel that the leading cause of lap band failure is lack of follow through by the patient and the Dr. Good luck.
  2. Only if you are from Utah.
  3. http://www.thrillist.com/eat/nation/power-ranking-the-10-best-hot-sauces-on-earth I have bottles of the top 2 both at work and home.
  4. No regrets. The lack of physical hunger makes it easier than I could have imagined. The large role that head hunger plays has made it harder than I thought it would be.
  5. You can strengthen your abs which will help, but spot reducing is a myth (IMHO).
  6. If can lose weight without the lap band, and keep it off. DO IT. Personally I have always been able to lose weight, but have had trouble maintaining that loss for more than a year. What is your history like? Can you live like you have the last six months for the rest of your life?
  7. I'm with Lellow, go back to liquids, but I would also call you Dr.
  8. "O" a word of wisdom? Don't plan too far ahead in your weight loss "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." For many of us, our initial loss is was quite extreme, but your loss will probably slow (and sometimes stop) as your body gets used to the extreme calorie deficient. I am about 6 months ahead of you, and based on my initial loss I expected to be a good 20 - 30 pounds lighter than I am. What I didn't plan for my weight loss to slow after 40 pounds and stop for two months after 55 pounds. Pre-lap band that plateau would have thrown me, but as the Word said I focused on one day at a time, enjoying the gift of freedom that what I had lost had given me. Peace
  9. http://www.tourofutah.com/2013/stages/salt-lake-city-circuit I have a seat in the caravan car that rides right behind the pack, tonight and Sunday.
  10. My LB nurse has said that reflux and night time coughing are a sign of too much restriction. I would head back to the Dr.
  11. I like the flavor of Babybel light better than sting cheese, and yes I can eat sushi, but YMMV
  12. I love your posts B-52, and hope to be where you and Lellow are one day, just got back from a week of vacation where I never opened MFP once and it was great, BUT now that I am back in the real world I'm a grazer, and if I don't log, I don't lose. Yup, my band controls my hunger, it is fantastic, but if I only ate when I was hungry, I wouldn't be fat There are many of us who never learned to listen to our bodies signals when it came to food, I am one of them. I hope to learn that skill, but truthfully if I have to log until the day I die in order to weigh what I want, then I can accept that.
  13. Wise decision. Too many surgeons are in it for the money, the band simply isn't a right fit for everybody. Great news on your loss, keep up the good work.
  14. With or without the peel?
  15. Ummm.... I hate to tell you this, but this isn't very private
  16. Sharpie I won't lie, I got stuck several times the first couple of days. In the end, I had to treat it like a fill, not being able to eat solids in the morning, taking very small bites and waiting. Once I did that I was fine.
  17. I shoot for 1500 a day, but I am 6" and male.
  18. Face it Go, you were just happy to have that hot, young athlete sitting next to you! <HUMOR> I understand what you mean, I recently flew for the first time since surgery and it was really nice to not fill the seat.
  19. I just got back from vacation at Yellowstone and like many banders I was tighter while at the higher altitude, and discovered that I felt better. So since I had a LB fill appointment this morning, I had them tweak my band with a .25 cc fill. But back to liquids for today and soft for tomorrow.
  20. Welcome to the family, no one has ever called this place quiet.
  21. The multiple visits are a plus, I love that as I loose my band is adjustable, I went in this morning for a "tweak", I can adjust it for my lifestyle, my comfort level. I exercise heavily during the summer, I want it looser, but as my activity level declines in the fall and winter I want it tighter. Can't do that with a sleeve or GB As for the port, it is there, and not very obvious now, I have another 40 pounds to loose so it may be more obvious then, but it can always be re-routed later.
