1 month Post 8 Op- can i eat A flatbread pizza

If you can stop at 1/2 of the pizza, I think you can. Plus you can plan to exercise a little more on that day to burn it off.
  4. I also get hiccups if I eat something that has hard time going down. Best example is the banana, if I forget to chew it well I get hiccups after 2 bites
  5. Hi, i am 4 weeks postop (20 lbs minus) and had my first victory yesterday. I went to the same zumba class that I used to attend before. Yesterday, to my surprise I was able to touch the floor repeatedly during the dancing exercise!!! Before the LB my hand stopped at knee level and I was just imitating what the others were doing. It is unbelievable, I have never thought that I could ever do this...
  6. You look great! Congratulations!!!

    Running NSV!

Very good! Congratulations!!! Just keep doing it. Next time you check you will sign up for a 10K
  8. Hi, I was a low bmi bander, too. Actually, I had to gain weight to reach 36 (above 35), and I purposefully gained 10 pounds over last Xmas, which was not very difficult During my pre-op screening they found out that I had sleep apnoe, this is how I could qualify for the surgery, otherwise insurance would not have not covered it. It is worth the wait!! Just be patient. You can start exercising, and adjusting to healthier eating, and counting calories et cetera. Good luck!

    JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES

Angelina, it is a good sign!! It means that your wound started to heal. Do not scratch it just tap it would your hand. It will go away in 2-3 days. Later, when your steritrip or bandage is off you can apply coco-butter cream on the scar every day for 2-3 month to make the scar be smooth and heal nicely.

    1 week laterrrr....

Be careful, just stay with liquid or at least with mushy food for a while before you experiment again with chunky meat!

    No stucks.

I am the same way. Only 3 weeks postop, but I have no problem eating bread, chicken, eggs or tortilla chips I even had a whole banana yesterday. Also, my big, vitamin tablet if I break it into 2, goes down fine. It is a pleasant surprise how close to normal I feel (except for the amount I eat, that is much less of course). I have not tried other meat beyond sauteed chicken, just to be careful. I guess after the fill it will be different
  17. 1/ Split pea soup : I just tak 1 cup dry split pea (yellow or green) and add 4x the Water. Cook for 45 min add salt, blend it and ready!! 2/ Creamy potato soup: basically mashed potato + milk (you can add leek if you want and blend it at the end) 3/ Lentil soup: 1 cup dry lentil + 4x the water + 3 bay leaves + salt. Cook for appr 45 min (add water if needed), blend it and add a little vinegar if you like at the end. 4/ Creamy spinach: 1 cup milk + 2 cloves of garlic (chopped) + 1/2 Lb frozen spinach + salt. Cook for 20 min and blend it. I have been living on these all.

If you have already eaten the food there is only one thing you can do. Go and burn it!!! Exercise!

    Not losing

Just wait. When long time ago I started a crazy diet+exercise program, it took 5 weeks for the pounds to start to melt off.
  20. Congratulations, Aviva! Just take it easy. You will feel much better tomorrow morning. Upper GI after surgery was much easier than the first one. Only 2-3 sips of a clear contrast agent, not the white one (at least for me). It took only 3 minutes for me.

    Traveling

I took a 4 hour bus trip on postop day 8 and it was fine.
  22. I had cream of wheat on postop day 11.
  23. Hi, My surgery date is June 27th. I was told that I will stay in the hospital one night. After I go home I will be alone and my neighbor will come and check on me daily. Are there any fellow candidates who has their surgery on the same week or so? I started the pre-op diet 3 days ago. I am getting used to the milk shakes in the morning. They are not so bad, but my pre-op diet is not perfect: unfortuntely I go over the 1000 by ~200 Cals but I hope improve it in a couple of days. I am worried about the pain during the first 2 days after surgery. How much am I going to be incapacitated?? Thanks!
