Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!
Angie4b1g replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've been adding a new garden or so every year to my house, too. I'm just about done, I just have 1-2 more areas I'd like to landscape. I figure that means dh will get a new job 5 states away and we'll have to move, just as I get it how I want it. -

This heat is doing a Boom Boom Pow on my runs. Normally I'd go earlier in the morning before it gets too hot, but my daughter is in soccer camp this week so I can't run until I get her dropped off. I was supposed to go 5 miles today, but after about 3.5 my shoes were starting to melt to the ground and when I smelled something burning I had a brief moment of insanity where I thought I might actually be on fire. Figured it was time to quit. LOL -

I check the box for "XL" for the free race shirt you get at the 5ks. Every.single.time. My husband is like YOU DO NOT WEAR AN XL ANYMORE. A men's XL is comically too big for me. So when I registered for the marathon in December, I checked "L" and was all proud of myself. He was like "that's great, except you'll be a medium or smaller by then." -

Was only .2 less than previous low. But I'm a slow loser, so I'll take every ounce I can get. :wink2: -

I've got an annoying overuse injury to my calf (I guess strength class w 150 squats on Friday, 3 mile run Sat morning, 2 soccer games Sat afternoon and a 5 mile run on Sunday was too much for my fat self), so I'm skipping my run today. First time I've done that since starting. Hopefully 4 days off is enough, because that's all it's getting. LOL -

Not sure I really enjoy it DURING, but I sure feel like I accomplished something AFTER. Enough so to make it worth it. :frown: -

Um no definitely not always been athletic. I did the couch to 5k (I started last year, but then got a stress fracture in my leg from either that or soccer or the combination and had to take a couple months off. Then I restarted in Feb of this year.) and just am going from there. My plan at this point is just more and more running. I'm reluctant to add any speed training since I still have a bunch of weight to lose and I'd rather run slow then get injured. We'll see what happens. -

I'll join, but my goal is pretty simple and straight forward. Stick to my training plan. I have a 10k to run on July 4th, and I'd like to be as ready for it as I can. So: 4x runs a week 2x strength training a week Not eat my body weight in ice cream That's about it! -

My time today was 32:08, which is my best so far and I'm happy with it. But I'm sick of coming in almost last of the runners. I need to kick it up a notch. LOL -

Nothing new or different here. Weight not budging, but I think I'm shrinking, so I'm trying to not care. lol I run 4 days a week and do strength training 2, and rest 1. I've got another 5k tomorrow morning. -

This is me about to cross the finish line at my first ever official 5k! Woot! I did the Couch to 5k program, and today was my last day of it. I purposely registered to run a race the last day so that I wouldn't slack off. I was pretty slow but hey look - people are behind me - and I ran the whole time! Then tonight at 6 I played soccer. I think I've had enough exercise for today, eh? -

I'm still here, lurking from time to time. I'll admit it isn't as easy to pop in and out with a 6 page master thread to read. LOL My weight loss has been...erm... slow and not so steady. But I'm getting there. I just updated my blog today if you wanna read all about it: My Lapband / Running Journey -
I just started the Couch to 5k last week and now I have the Nike+ Sport band which I am LOVIN'. I see they have group challenges and stuff you can set up, so I thought it would be fun to do that with my fab febs if anyone wants!

Hell, for $500, I'd let him cop a feel. LOL

We play EQ2. I actually met my husband in EQ1.

I hope my fat ass doesn't demolish it while I'm trying to go down the road. What IS the weight limit for those things? I just got a cheapie at Wal-Mart since I have a history of not following through on stuff. This way I figure I can just give it to my daughter when I either a) admit I never ride it or  ride it so much I decide I need a nicer one. Anyway, it's of course been cold and rainy since I brought it home so I haven't even been on a test run. There's a great bike trail near my house, I can even ride TO it. Heaven knows I need some time away from the house/kids. I really have no good excuse. Do I remember how to ride? Is it... like riding a bike?

As of June 12th, my 4 month Bandiversary, I have lost 40 pounds. I have had 3 fills, for a total of 4.5ccs in a 10 cc band. (I think. I'm not sure how much my last fill was... I am either at 4.5 or 5.)
