    What would you do?

Yep, get soup and if they ask, just say you had a late lunch.
  2. I have the Mirena IUD and have had it for about 2 years before the surgery.

    I keep dreaming about food.

I dreamed I "forgot" and ate a 12" BMT at Subway and then was like OMG THAT IS GOING TO HURT. lol

Boy do I wish I could....

OMG it was like a week. I wasn't uncomfortable, but I was freaking out. I guess I just didn't have any food in there to expel.

    Ok, Train me!

I'm headed to the gym for the first time on Friday. I didn't work out before surgery, other than walking to and from the refrigerator. :blushing: I'm not sure what I should do my first time out. I don't want to be dying the next day. LOL. My surgery was 2 weeks ago, do I need to start off slow? I prefer the elliptical over the treadmill (clearly, as I have a treadmill that hasn't seen my booty in years). Should I do any of the machines, or just cardio? Or just walking? Or just sit in the hottub and then say "oh yeah, great workout!"? Help!

    Waiting for sex...

It makes me feel sad that you are with someone so selfish and superficial.
  8. Since my operation 17 days ago, I'm down 11lbs.

    29Feb - losingjusme's plastics day

Ohhh I can't wait to see pics and find out how many pounds they cut off. It's going to be a brand new you! I'm so excited for you!
  10. It's been a couple few weeks for some of us, so I think it's time for an update from everyone! I'm just over 2 weeks out and SO happy I did this. I still have quite a bit of restriction, but not enough to make eating uncomfortable, so I'm having a pretty easy time of it. I can eat more than they want, but still not all that much. For dinner last night I had 2 thin slices of pork tenderloin (maybe 2" across and 1/4" thick), half a small red potato, and maybe 8-10 green Beans and I was VERY full. I'm down exactly 10lbs since surgery 16 days ago. I'm thrilled with this as I hadn't expected to drop much, if any. And I was afraid that what I HAD lost, I'd regain after moving to soft diet. But, so far so good! I'm down about 15lbs total if you include my preop diet, and 31+ pounds from when I started WW in Sept. I'm just floored that I've lost over 30 pounds and that I'm not going to gain it back. Every morning when I step on the scale and the number isn't higher, I am just thrilled. When it's lower, I just don't know what to do with myself. Why didn't I do this 3 years ago??? :blushing:
  11. What about chicken broths and stuff? Really just said splenda drinks and Popsicles??

Thanks for the update, Mr LJM!
  13. At the original seminar I went to, they REALLY pushed bypass over the band, and strongly suggested it for the sweet eaters so that you'd have the dumping syndrome as a deterrent. Why would I want to have the surgery that makes me SICK if I eat something I love, instead of the surgery that allows me to indulge on a little of what I love? Telling me I'd never be able to eat sweets again talked me right out of what they were selling!! Having said all that, bypass can be done laproscopically just like the band, do they only do it open?

Does anyone else have the restaurant card?

Wow, a GUY just hairflipped. Nice.

UHC didn't deny me, IT WAS MY EMPLOYER!!!

It's cheaper for the company to get the insurance for it's employees if they get the WLS exclusion. It's not so much that they are "denying" you as it is that they got the cheaper insurance package. Sorry you're having to go through all this crap!

    LBT Official Cookbook?

Maybe a couple dozen so far, but there's no such thing as too many so bring em on!! At this point I'm leaning toward just making it a PDF file and then emailing it to whomever wants it. Then you can just print it off / have it printed and let your local printer put a plastic binder on it. Saves on shipping cost, and less work for me. The bigger the better!

How are my Feb Double Vs doing?

Lori, that's my goal, too! More specifically, I want to be in the 100s when we go on our vacation in late July.

Does anyone else have the restaurant card?

Ok, that makes sense. Now I understand their reluctance to let you share. Was this fact communicated at the time they refused to let you "share"?

    Ok, Train me!

This is not a "gym" so much as the rec center. But they have all the stuff. No staff trainers, though. But ok ok I'll just start walking. Can do that at home on old dusty treadmill. :blushing:

Does anyone else have the restaurant card?

And for those with the Olive Garden issues, here: Olive Garden Italian Restaurant - Company - Contact Us Tell them you'd like them to issue a statement regarding the "every person has to order their own entree". Then carry that statement with you the next time you go. Bet ya $1 you won't have that problem again.

Does anyone else have the restaurant card?

I'm really not all this big on causing a scene. They can bring me Water, I don't have to drink it. I can order soup. If we go to the buffet place, we're going there because the kids like it and I'm fine paying my extra $2 for an adult. If a restaurant ever wants to give me a hard time about not ordering my own entree, that's fine. I just won't go there again. I may not be running up as big of a bill as the next 2 people to occupy that table will. But if I never come back, I won't be running up any bill at all. Their choice, not mine. Plenty of restaurants around. I have no desire to make a point about anything. I can't change other people, only how I react to them.

Fill 'er Up my first fill

Wow, that was fast! My doctor won't do them until it's been at least 4 weeks (I scheduled mine 4 weeks to the day...). LOL
