How are all the aug. Peeps out there. Ive been missing u all. I'm finally getting to where i can exercise Some..I'm down 86#!! I can't wait to reach that 100 mark.

Wow u look great!! U sure ur only down 84# I'm down 82# n i was in a size 24/26 and I'm now in a size 20.
I wish i was in a size 12

Im so happy for you!!! I can't wait to reach onederland!! My HW 321 n SD Aug 6th was 314 I am now 248!!! It stil don't seem real. And if my back didn't hurt so bad I would feel so much better. But i'm determined to get better with the Lords help. ) this is a brand new year in the Lord n I will rejoice in it!! )))

1 st year anniversary wt 279
Current wt 242
226lbs gone fitting in 1x on top 2x on the bottom (from7-8xl)
My goals pre op were to be able to chase my grandson- check
Walk up stairs without holding the rail- half a check can do a few up and check for down unless I am really tired.
Be able to walk a mile- check! Did it easily when I had to get my car out of the shop. Surprised me that I was able to do it( glad my neighbors weren't home to give me a ride)
Go on a mission trip to Africa - not yet but I think I am going to go google that right now! Maybe this summer.
I am working full time nights, able to wear skinny jeans comfortably, buy stuff at a thrift store easily, and swim for over an hour and then do physical therapy in the alpine pool for another ten min. I have a tiny waist and can feel the bones in my shoulders and hips. In fact when I sit on the potty it hurts a bit cuz my poor butt has lost a lot of it insulation.
I tolerate most food but small portions are key. Half a sandwich, 1/4 -1/2 of a restaurant portion entree, and stay away from loads of sugars (under 9 grams at any one time) which means I don't deny myself a special treat but I only have a tiny piece or one small candy. The holidays meant a load of cooking but for me at least not a load of eating. Side benefit saving money on food big time.
All in all this journey has been what I had envisioned and I see my end goals coming up fast.
Under 200 lbs and being ABLE!

I will be 64 in a couple weeks. Had the RNY at age 53. Ive had a bunch of "normal" problems in the years post op such as kidney stones, severe osteoporosis, low blood Calcium and other things. Yes, I lost weight and kept it off, in fact, I became VERY think for several years. Dangerously thin. Now Im normal weight. I have had doubts about whether I should have done this radical surgery. But I was morbidly obese (292 lbs at 5'4") and doubt a lesser surgery would have worked. By the way, I followed dietary rules and took proper supplements since having the surgery. My surgeon no longer practices and no other surgeon will see a patient he/she didn't do the surgery on so Ive been on my own for years. Most medical doctors know doodlysquat about WLS. Im an RN of many years and trust me, I do know. Why write here? I know I risk scaring newbies but I too need support. Im looking for similar people, old timers who have had some problems. I need to know how they manage, cope, survive and thrive. Thanks.
PS I just noticed...I originally joined this forum when I WAS super thin! I now weigh 126!!!
