Grampa bought a rubber. Sorry, thought we could use some comical relief. It's getting deep in here! Wacka wacka boom boom.

Now that I have my first fill, is it normal to cough like something needs to cough out of my throat? Does anybody have homeopathic remedies for gallbladder cleansing? I think it's honey, lime, cayenne pepper... isn't that what I've heard, or is that an anti-fertility remedy?

What's a vacation? Is that another medical term?
-
I'm not using Kotex - too thick. I've changed my 3x3 gauze bandage 3 times today - not totally soaked, but still more red color than yellow. If it doens't stop I'll call Kuri. Penni, you rock.

I don't think it's a good idea to take any over-the-counter pain medicine every day. You should talk to your doctor. I know a guy who blames Tylenol for his dad's death - then again his dad was an alcholic, so somehow taking Tylenol every day caused liver problems and he died sooner than he would have from the alcohol alone. Take it with a grain of salt, baby, cuz I'm just sayin' what I heard! But sill let your doc know you take something every night.

Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine and is used in Benedryl. It's the "PM" ingredient in most over-the-counter pain/sleep pills. It's also the ingredient in Dramamine (sea sick pills.) It's in Tylenol PM, Pamprin PM, Excedrin PM, etc. If you're only taking that pill for sleep, that means you're needlessly taking pain medication every night for no reason. You can take straight Benedryl for plain diphenhydramine (or get the store's generic and just look at the packaging to see if the miligrams of Diphenhydramine are the same so you get the same dose). However, I don't know if Benedryl is okay for band patients. That part I can't answer.

No, Donali, Kuri didn't use the word KOTEX. He used the word "what do the women call the thick things they use during the month....." and I jumped in and yelled "KOTEX?" and he said, "YES, that's it!" Penni, yes, maybe my Sarcoidosis is making me a slow healer. Now about that leaking. My liquid isn't clear (yet?) I was hoping once the bloody liquid passed it would turn clear. But it's thick-red-not-quite-clotty-blood-but-still-thick-like-the-normal-liquid. I have hard scar tissue all around the incision. I noticed when I press the scar tissue, this clotty-thick red liquid comes out, so there's a lot of blood in the liquid. Penni, and I dying... AGAIN? Oh, and I'm not even worried about the rashes any more. I put lots of 30,000 I.U. Vitamin E on it and that's much better. But please help... why thick bloody liquid?

Hung chow is the funniest thing I've heard on these boards yet. I think that's exactly what it was! I had my port removed last Thursday, but I was filled first and had good restriction. I think I had Hung Chow Antibiotic juice coagulating in my throat. It's much better now. Hung chow - that kills me!

Thanks, Penni. I had my current doc on the phone last night but had so many questions that I decided to leave this one till next time. I heard that people with autoimmune diseases have problems fighting infection. I wonder if Sarcoid is the same. They found masses on my lungs. My lung specialists said they don't treat it since it's laying dormant, but I heard that getting banded could actually wake up the disease. That would be the end of the line for me since the only treatment is Prednisone, which would bloat me up bigger than the Incredible Hulk. Thanks again.

OMG Donali, you reminded me of "my cat bought $10,000 worth of cat toys, and you can't return them because they have spit all over them... gimme that, gimme that! Don't you HATE when they get stuck under the couch?" CRACKING UP HERE!

Sleepy? HAH.... DeLarla's been asleep way too long.. we've only just begun!

Dr. Kuri let her out! He makes me feel so good! I have a major leak, much worse than before, but he called like we're old buddies and made me feel awesome! It's a whole 'nother world when you have a doc who cares. I joined that fancy SmartBandsters board last night, Donali. WOOF. Beware! But this place is so much warmer and fuzzier. This board is like coming home.

Donali, I told Louie you were looking for him. Why, do you need someone punched out? His motto is "brute force and ignorance." Glad you understand us!
-
Things are looking up. My new doctor returns my calls! And right away!
-
I'm really bored. Who is this Dan guy? I need some fun. Lemme post a thing or two! Game on!
-
I don't have a list, but HI Birdie!
-
Oh Vera, Vera, Vera... thank you for that! That was an old Steve Martin line. Right in the middle of his stand up he'd sing out, "grampa, bought a rubber." I'd crack up... that was back in the 80s when all that stupid junk busted a gut!

I'm in a state of shock because my doctor KURI (rah rah rah) just called after only 2 hours! Not 2 weeks or 2 months, just 2 hours. He said I have super sensitive skin, and the wound does not need to be re-sewn, and I do not have to spend money on fancy bandages. I need to squeeze the Fluid out, take a shower and slap on a Kotex with some x-tra sensitive fabric tape. I HEART KURI : )
-
Agreed, Penni, but I wasn't myself after my surgery. Heck, DeLarla wasn't even around. Musta been dumb Louie who took those pills.
-
Michelle, your book report is due in 2 weeks, 1000 words, typed, and double-spaced. Hurry, I want to know it all! Thanks.

Okay, call me lame, but I have to throw this out there. We all know who Al Rouker is, right? He's the host of one of those morning shows who had a gastric bypass (or some similar procedure.) I read or heard or saw somewhere that his stomach before the operation looked like a deflated football. Now I realize our stomachs stretch and shrink, but is there any truth to a stomach stretching out then being all flabby inside our belly with all that skin? If our outside skin does it, is that the same with the stomach? So even when we lose weight, the lower stomach shrinks small but still looks all flappy?

Is it me, or did they forget to mention "dropping stuff" on the list of side effects with band/port surgery? Has anyone noticed the need for bending over to pick up dropped stuff has increased tenfold since surgery? Where is that Murphy?
-
Penni, you show off! I've had infected, bleeding, oozing, deformed, protruding, hurting, tearing port issues for so long that I'll probably be driving with my feet if it doesn't heal soon.
-
Is that a big feet joke? Speaking of toes, Babs gave me a 2 hour pedicure yesterday, just to be nice. Can you believe that woman? Now I have to post a picture of my toes, sheesh, so much to do, such little time!
-
That seems like a small fill to me, but then again I don't know much! Did he do it under fluoroscopy?
