One-on-one holiday exercise challenge, anyone?
DeLarla replied to Zoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
FINE! I tredged through frozen sleet and hail the size of golfballs ploughing through 6 foot snow drifts... walked to the park then did TWO laps around (nice walking trail around my park.) I nearly died of frostbite JUST FOR YOU PEOPLE. Well, there really wasn't any snow or hail, but I think I saw some fog on the windshields. So now Greg is wearing a sports bra with his g-string? -

My wound closed up one day, so I didn't exercise. But it opened again so I walked Friday. But I didn't get up of lazy butt this morning. I guess I'll just always have an open wound and no port, but things could be a lot worse! -

Let me modify my excuse: I love the cold, and I love the rain. But I'm NOT allowed to walk without my dogs (they won't stand for that.) And they'd be soaking wet when we got home and would stink up my house and furniture worse than it already is. If that excuse doesn't work, then I'll go with old-fashioned laziness. Off to a bad start on this challenge, plus I'm going on another road-trip to California Wednesday. How am I gonna drive 10 hours without all the good junk food munching? -

Oops, was today the day we were supposed to start something? Hmm, I looked outside at the rain and made a cup of xtra sweet cappucino. How does that convert to calories burned? I did get angry at husband's clothes all over the house so that's gotta burn something (prolly brain cells with my luck.) -
I lost almost all my "fluff weight" (Michelle's definition of the 6 pounds I gained on vacation) but I'm still up a pound. If I don't get on the ball, I may have no loss by my next weigh in.

Let's make sure I read this right: Greg will be posting a nude picture of himself instead of one in the Speedo. So where's the attachment? Greg, will that be from behind or the Full Monty? Vegas got smacked with this crazy winter storm. Yesterday we ran around in long-sleeve t-shirts, but by last night the wind kicked up and it got down to 42 degrees and pouring rain (for you mountain folk, 42 is ice cold to us desert rats.) I hope it drops to 30 and I wake up to snow! That would be a dream come true, and YES, I will walk to the park in it. Bring it on! -

That's too much work for me, but I'll exercise for the sake of the challenge since we all get to see Greg in a Speedo. That's how I interprested this thread. When will he be posting it? (Funny how quiet he got.) -
I snuck to Mexico alone. Only my husband knew. It took 6 months to tell people. Now I have the t-shirt, bumper sticker, flag, pins, (well, not really but I tell complete strangers now.)

I have always said that I feel my restriction in my throat first. My food often gets stuck in my throat, even when I'm hungry. Sometimes it can be painful, so I wait it out. But I just had an Upper G.I., and the results were normal. Can anyone explain why we have the tightness in our throat? I imagine the band is so tight that air is trapped in our esophagus or something? Alexandra, you out there?

Boy, this thread/challenge got really complicated. Can someone summarize it? -

I got up and did a double walk this morning plus a little upper body then rode my motorcycle to work for an extra boost of adrenaline. And I'm great about drinking water during the day, but I don't drink any thing at night because I hate having to get up and pee! I don't think it matters whether we drink it during the day or night, does it? Lauri, try adding a few splashes of cranberry juice to your water. Makes it look pretty and gives it just a hint of flavor to make it go down easier. -

I'm willing to pay $50.00 to see Greg in a Speedo. And I'm a self pay (aka credit card) of TWO surgeries and still need a third! -
Inflation. Thoughts are 2 cents now.

Greg, too much information (hee hee, but I'm glad you shared.) Brilliant minds....
-
Ryan, something's gotta be wrong with you because that sounded way too easy. Then again, maybe just traveling to a different country put more stress on me than needed. When I finally got home from crossing the border, airport security, flying, etc., all I wanted to do was lay around! Good for you. Lucky man, lucky wife.

Let's see how my disgusting wound looks on Monday. If I'm ready to join, I suggest we all send $50 bucks to a treasurer and do it for money, the Vegas way. Bring it on... joo wanna some-a dis? -

Too late, it just split open as my Adkin's protein shake shot out my nose. Thanks for the visual, Greg. -

Did she call ME old? Old is as old does. I'm the one that rode a quad topless through Mexico last week. Top that one! Or should I say, untop that one! I ain't old! (Notice how I'm avoiding the challenge?) -

Sorry, Lauri, but I figured I'd change the subject so noboby would notice I'm not exercising. I met my personal challenge of 3 times a week till now. I only did one day this week, but I'm giving up exercising for a week or two to see if I can get my wound to heal. I can't stand it any more, it's been leaking 6 months. Disgust and depression are setting in. It seems to dry up, but any physical activity opens it again. And getting it wet opens it. It's dry for the moment, so I'm not moving. I'm not bathing. I'm not even riding my motorcycle or wearing a bra or jeans - just baggy sweats and moo-moos for a week or two. I'll see you guys on this challenge thread in a couple weeks. I'm not even showering today. It's going to be a stinky week, but at least I have a bidette! Peee-Uuuuuuu! -

Maybe if you wear them riding a bike I won't feel so damn silly wearing them on my motorcycle. I said I "bought" them... I didn't say I'll wear them! I feel goofy! -

Laughlin has a big river run every year, and there's a gas station there that sells cheap leather. We passed thru on our way home from Mexico and I got chaps for $24.00. Very decent for the price. Okay, back to your regularly scheduled programming. -

Damn it. You know I can't turn down a challenge. But I just posted on the other thread that I'm suffering band-burn out. Let me sleep on it. I'm 42, 6 months banded, and have 90 pounds to lose. @#$%$@@%!$%^@@#%&**!! -
Zoe said it first! I can't even believe you got banded, you don't look big at all.
