Glad I am not alone on the weight loss stopping. Was going to get discouraged. Go for my first fill on the 8th. Counting calories and hoping he says I can start working out. Down 24 lbs and it feels amazing.I'm down 24 as well, and I have been stuck for about 2 weeks now. I have an appt. On the 10th , but she said she didn't know if we would do a fill then! Ugh! I'm just now to the point of where I don't hurt doing anything.. guess its time for the gym?!

I am very hungry now. The liquids are not doing anything for me. Is ice the only thing on the menu day 2 post op lol?You can get through it! Dont worry!!

Hey all...I'm wrapping up my pre-op diet and will be banded on 12/31. I stumbled across this forum when I was doing my research - thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences so I've got some idea of what I'm in for after surgery.Just remember everyone is different, and if this is your first surgery, everything will be new and scary! Lol

I would also call the Dr. But I know the feeling. I just now started to be able to eat and I was banded on the 3rd, with zero fills so far.
-
I too was December 4th. yesterday i made my way to the dr on my own. it was fine considering its 45 minutes from my house and then 45 back. the liquids are alot and i have to get 85 protien' date=',,any suggestions????????[/quote']Are u doing pureed food? The majority of what I've been doing is chicken breast, tuna, and Optifast shakes. If u puree chix breast and use Greek yogurt instead of mayo-- that's a ton of Protein. 1 package of tuna is like 18 grams protein.

I was banded on the 3rd of December, And I'm down 24 pounds!!! Still in some pain if I move just right, or if I forget and roll over on my side at night! But its going good!!

This may be odd to say, but I swear I don't even miss food! Lol. I have still been cooking meals for.my family. I can even be in the car with them, as they all order food from the drive through... that's called focus. Lol! Or maybe the lack of food is making me a little crazy, either way- its working.

Anyone else have or had issues with being really sore where their port was placed 1 week post-op?? gah! Its so annoying! I can't bend over the wrong way, or sleep on my side!
-
I feel dumb for asking this, but then again... this is a place to find ppl that are going through the same thing, right? Lol anyways, 5 days out from being banded, and I am having such an issue with NOT being able to burp... and if I try, it fricken hurts!! Someone please tell me this is normal.....

And leave tons of sagging skin, which u will need to pay to have removed because it is then a cosmetic thing, not a medical issue! I would most definitely go to a band seminar, they discuss all 3 options, band, bypass, and sleve. They show you statistics and really leave u informed of all 3

Then I would assume yes, only because hypothyroid is the only condition I have.. other than being obese, obviously. Lol
-
Hey! Banded this past Monday. First 2 days a complete blur. Never slept so much in my life! Its painful to move, but its important to reduce the risk of blood clots. I would suggest not even trying to sleep in bed, u will need a recliner or sitting on the couch... trust me! No pain from the gas for me, thank goodness. Yesterday and today best days of the week so far. Just keep in mind, its all going to be worth it... you can do this.
-
Hmm that's a tough one. I had a bmi of 40, plus hypothyroid .. and my BCBS still required me to do 6 consecutive months of weight loss documentation... they told me the band is approved down to a bmi of even 30, but u really need one of those other conditions.... I know, not really helpful. Lol

Hi! I was just banded on Monday. And trust me, thus far, I've had no choice but to adhere to the food restrictions! Lol. The pre-op liquid diet helps reduce the inter abdominal fat, and shrink ur liver so there is better room for the procedure to be done. (Plus I lost 13lb during this time) now I'm on my full liquid diet, and can't wait for the pureed food! Haha. But I feel ya, when it comes to eating normal again, I hope I can tolerate all the good food I'm supposed to have.

OK. So I KNOW alcohol is an empty calorie intake... but I have drank some wine from time to time since new years (banded on 12/3) an the last 2 times I've drank a certain amount I've had excruciating pain in my upper abdominal area for like 5-10 minutes. What is that all about?!
