    What do you tell people?

I just told everyone the truth and i started at the beginning so now it's like everyone is rallying around me and excited about my journey. I'm lucky to work with an amazing group of wonderful people. It's just regular course of business now it also makes it easier when I bring my lunch to meetings and stuff. I don't have to be sneaky about why I'm not eating what was catered in ...everyone just understands. To top it off...I'm completely responsible for what I eat and quite a few people have started dieting and discussing recipes with me now. I understand not everyone works in a "family" environment like I do but the truth will set you free

    Where is everyone from?

Nice! Mine didn't have that either. When I was reading their details is sounded like they did and they required support group visits before hand for a while.

    Where is everyone from?

They were my other choice through my insurance but where I'm going now is way closer to my home. I have heard excellent things about them. Do they require a 6 month diet?

    trouble in paradise

I'm kind of a hard a$$ so I would say "get on board this train or get run over by it...those are the 2 choices" don't let his indecision and insecurities mess with you. You need to be sure of what you are doing and who you are doing it for.

    Fmla...question

I just filled out my short term medical and fmla stuff and u can send it directly to the company that handles it and so can ur dr. Nobody has to know what ur doing. That's how mine works. The hr ladies knows because she was helping me fill out paper work but other than that, nobody has to know. It's ur private issue.

    Got my Surgery Date!

My boss was on me about choosing dates that would require the least amount of work on her behalf. She doesn't want to have to do any of the things I have to do that require actual work. She told me it would be "devastating" if I was gone during month end. I said she was being dramatic.

    March Madness!

    Yeessss!!! A March buddy
  18. Hey everyone I'm a newbie here and I've been approved by my insurance for surgery but I don't have a date yet. Most likely March from what my drs have said and I should find out this week what the actual date is. But my friend is getting married in August and I'm in her wedding. Yesterday her bridal consultant said we should order by end of April to get the dress in time...how can u order a dress for August when I may only be 1 month post op!? They said as long as I'm not more than 2 dress sizes smaller than what I order, they can make it fit me. Has anyone had to deal with this? Fortunately my friend is super laid back and very supportive and she doesn't care if I have to order separate and the color isn't the exact same die batch...she just wants me there (love her!!) how in the world do I order a dress when I have not a clue what I will weight or how i'll be shaped??? The consultant asked me if I knew where the weight was going to come off...I told her ideally my boobs would stay big but the rest of me would shrink. Lol is she serious!? Lol!!! But seriously....what do you do?? I know I will need at least 2 months lead time at the absolute latest. My thoughts are order my size at the time of order if I order at 2 months prior...that will put me 3 months post op...

    Bridesmaid in August

Thank you! This is what I was wondering...I was debating about going down a size in ordering and then adjusting from there...the top is rouched and then it has an empire waist with a sash and then A line from there... :-) this is great info and will help me give them information if I have to order from a store. When the lady asked where I was going to lose it from...I just looked at her and was thinking...where am I not going to lose it might be a better question....lol

    Bridesmaid in August

The dress that the other bridesmaid and I choose is rouched and is A line so it's very forgiving but we r all wearing the same dress. The good thing is I found the dress online at an online store so I don't have to order the same time as the other bridesmaids....

    If One More Person!

I completely understand!!!!! I have friends that when I tell them that the goal is to lose 150 lbs and they say either 1) do u even have 150 lb to lose or 2) well I hope you aren't too boney and skinny after because u look good now and carry your weight well. To which I say "my body and joints feel every single lb that I carry and this isn't about vanity, it's about living a more healthy life." I think people immediately jump to the vanity and superficial benefits of losing weight and not the health benefits. They just need to be reminded and have their focus readjusted. I've had good luck with this response and have gotten a lot of support.

    Debating on surgery

You have to live with your decision and with your body. If you aren't sure about making the change then don't do it. If you are committed to it, then go for it. But you have to be on board with your decision more than anyone else.
