I think my hormones take over on some days. I just want to eat but next day back to normal. I've started tracking hungry days as they don't quite relate to typical PMS days.

It depends on your insurance' date=' actually. Not all will cover it.
In fact, most won't cover a Tummy Tuck at all for any reason, only a panniculectomy (skin removal). A large number that will cover a panniculectomy will only cover it if the pannis hangs below the pubic line and/or there's a documented skin breakdown because of it. Some will cover it for massive weight loss, too.
But unfortunately, it's all dependent on your insurance company as well as your employer's stipulations on the policy.[/quote']
So I should start using rogaine to get my pubic line higher? Lol.

(As a point of reference - I've been banded almost nine months. I've had fills and if I'm not in the green zone, it's at least sea foam green. ???Š)
I did not have to do a pre surgery diet. That varies by doctor/insurance.
There are no foods that I cannot eat. I do not have carbonated drinks very often. I've had a beer at a couple of social events but drank them very slowly as I could feel the gas. I have gotten stuck before but if I chew, chew, chew I can eat anything. But there's a lot I don't eat as I count calories and get in the needed Protein. And I eat a cup or less of food per meal so that doesn't leave much room for a lot of things. I have had a cupcake at a birthday celebration or even some chocolate just because but I count the calories and usually a bite or two us enough to feel satisfies.
For me the band has not been about giving up foods. It's been about eating healthier and smaller amounts. Hope this helps you.

So I just got back from Kohls. That sucks so hard core! They had a huge selection of bras on sale but it's freak'n impossible to find 36DD! There were a ton of smaller sizes' date=' and even 40-42DD, but I was lucky to find one 36DD in each style.I tried on at least 8 different bras. Platex, Maidenform, Warner, Olga, Vanity Fair and Bali. The problem I'm having is the dang excess skin. I am finding if the bra cuts too deep between the girls, I just icky skin squishing up the middle. If they don't have good side support I have skin hanging over the bra. UGH!!
I did get one made by Bali with light padding, no underwire, but good lift. It's not the best in the world but it's still a lot better than what I was wearing.
I'm definitely going to keep trying others on this thread, too. Thank you ladies!! <3[/quote']
Just wondering how you are measuring yourself? A friend told me about leaning forward to measure my cup size. Lean forward so that you back is parallel to the floor and measure across the nipple. This made a real difference for me. I'm in a 38DD now with no excess anywhere. Maybe your cup size is a bigger than you think?

Call a friend or family member? Or if you're comfortable sharing your news here, there's prolly many people that can relate. Or go for a long walk and just let your mind wander.
For me - I scrub my bath tub and then take a hot long bath enjoying my hard work.
Wishing you peace...

Tara' date=' are you also exercising daily? What's your daily intake of Protein?[/quote']Protein is over 60g daily. And no I don't exercise daily. I do walk and ride a stationary bike, but not daily. I still have over 60 lbs to lose so I know eventually I'm going to have to commit to a real exercise program.
-
You might just increase by increments of 100 calories until it works for you. I stay at 900-1000 and lose consistently. At 1100-1200, I wouldn't always lose a pound a week. And get your Protein in. That also makes a difference for me.
Good luck.

Quite a few people use myfitnesspal or loseit app. You can search the site for ppl asking for friends on those apps to help with accountability.
Best of luck to you!!

It can be repaired during the Lapband surgery. I won't say it's common but a fair amount of people have them.

Well' date=' it will be 8 months on the 28th. Have hit a plteau at a loss of 55 lbs lost. I feel better but I've got another 55 to go before I start maintaining that weight. It's a little frustrating as I still have not hit the green zone but still count my calories. I am a slow loser, always have been. I'll know the band is working when I finally hit ONEderland lol, I'm trying my best and still believe the band is a great tool for weight loss.[/quote']I think you band is working. 55 lbs is great! And there's no reason why losing slow is bad. I still have quite a ways to go. I have given myself two years to get to goal.

How's everyone doing at 8 months post-op? Down 80 lbs and feeling well. Hasn't been super easy but it's been worth it.

Thanks for the encouragement ladies

Yay for you! And I completely understand. I have a pair of jeans and a dress that I've kept too.

Thanks Cheznoel. Some of info you have provided on this forum has been very helpful to me. Thanks for hanging around to help out the newbies.

I had surgery on Dec 19, 2012 and 8 months later I'm down 80 pounds! I reached onederland about a week ago. I've lost more than 50% of my excess weight. Overall it's been a great experience. Just wanted to share this with people that would understand. Very glad I found this forum.

I've always gotten random bruises. Just small ones on my thighs or arms that I just assumed I had bumped into something and didn't remember. Not many, but have had some through the years.
But lately this seems to happen more, the bruises are bigger, and some of them hurt. I have also noticed that I seem to get nicks and small scrapes on my hands when doing housework. These seem to take a long time to heal. I had blood work done at the end of June and was told my levels look good. Unfortunately I'm not quite sure which "levels" were checked. I take Vitamins everyday and get in enough Protein and have been steadily losing weight.
Does anyone have any ideas about the bruises? Am I lacking in some nutrient? I prefer not to have blood work done again so soon (scheduled for it in October) so if I had an idea I could call the dr and see if it was included in the June numbers.
Thanks!

I was self pay and used True Results. I ended up also having a hernia repaired. BCBS sent me info saying I MAY owe xx amount but 7 months later True Results has never sent me an additional bill. I think now days insurance companies deny claims first time they are submitted. I say don't worry and don't ask until you get an actual bill. And then ask them to resubmit the claim, use the services of your insurance rep (most companies that provide employees insurance have one but don't always makes that known), and if you must set up a payment plan. And don't agree to any amount that will stress your budget. Tell me what you can pay and be firm. Make them see they'll still get their money otherwise they get none.

A typical day:
B- egg beaters with cheese and turkey bacon
S- English tea with sugar free creamer
L- lean cuisine meal or tuna fish (I often work thru lunch so I need something quick and easy)
S- beef Jerky, almonds, cottage cheese, popcorn
D- whatever I'm in the mood for in small portion
I try to stay at 1000 calories/day and get in over 60g Protein everyday. I don't limit carbs as the required Protein and calorie level takes care of that. There are days that I have a Protein shake for Breakfast or dinner as I'm just not hungry.

You can order a variety pack. I ended up liking all of them but then bought the vanilla in the canister. For me, vanilla is the easiest to use as a "base" for all kinds of smoothies.< /p>

I have not told anyone at work and don't plan to. I took two weeks of vacation off and had surgery in Dec'12. I explained eating differently as a New Year's Resolution. I do suspect HR as to not keeping things confidential but no one has said anything directly to me. And if I was the talk of the office I would have heard it by now. They are my coworkers. I have concern for them but I don't want to know all the details of their lives, and I continue to hope they aren't interested in mine. And these are people I've worked with for over 10 years.

There are numerous reasons. You should have a check up with your PCP.
Best of luck.
