My periods have been so crazy since my surgery in November. Our bodies are going through so many changes. Hang in there, and be thankful Mother Nature skipped you this month. She'll make up for it!

Oops, I thought my first post didn't go through! sorry for the double (now triple) post.

I have a friend who had bypass in 2005, & she has beautiful thick hair. I was complaining that my hair has become so thin due to Hair loss & asked her if she went through it. She said her hair got very thin, & her hairdresser recommended Nioxin Shampoo, & she said it worked wonders for her. She said she had to order it online as it's not a Walmart supply. I'm ordering it today!!! I want my thick hair back!

I also have the mirena, & everything was fine. It was after my surgery that things got crazy. I hadn't had a period in four years, but I'm having them now ... With spotting between periods. I've also seen posts on here regarding effectiveness of iud's after surgery... Some women have gotten pregnant ;(

Before my sleeve surgery, I hadn't had a period in 3 years due to my IUD. Since my surgery, I've had monthly periods with spotting between periods. I understand that estrogen is stored in our fat cells, and as we lose weight, estrogen is released. Will I be enduring crazy periods & spotting until I hit goal & start maintaining??? I'm tired of the "surprises." Anyone relate to this?? Also, I'm nervous about the effectiveness of my IUD.... Do I talk to my gyno or my surgeon?

Surgery was 11/5/12 & have lost 72lbs. Still have 60lbs to hit my goal

Thank you for your posts.... Makes sense w the gall bladder... I had mine removed over 10 years ago...I will keep track & see if there is a pattern! Thanks!

Every once in awhile, I eat something, and it's out of my system in less than an hour by diarrhea. Yesterday, it was a shrimp ceviche (no crackers & it wasn't that citric) that did it to me. I wonder how many calories are absorbed when that happens? Anyone have similar experiences or know???

This makes me nervous! I have an IUD as well, & certainly don't want to be pregnant since I'm a single lady! How long have you had the IUD?
Congrats on the baby... And the surgery!

I had my surgery on a Monday and I drove (all the way across las vegas) to my post op appt on that Friday. I even went to Walmart after my appt. I was tired but had no problem.

Those with Dr Atkinson:How soon after your consult did you get your surgery date? Jessie said ill meet with a surgery coordinator after my appt but I'm trying to work around the timeline of everything. Especially since I'm paying cash...
I think mine was about 2 weeks. I payed in cash as well, & it seemed like process was very quick. I started seriously pursuing the process in September & had surgery early November. BEST thing I've ever done!

I'm in Boulder City...dr. Atkinson did my surgery on 11/5... Love it!

I have dumping if I eat anything too rich. I was at a Christmas party & tried a tablespoon of the artichoke dip. It stayed w me for about 15 minutes & all of a sudden I Had to get to a bathroom ASAP! This sleeve is a very good behavior modification tool...

When I first started my journey, I was nervous that I'd be the only person to fail at this. My fears are gone & I'm thankful everyday that I had my surgery. If you have fears, it's ok. It's ok to question everything, but it's more important to believe in yourself. With that belief, you will accomplish!
