I've been doing great. I have had one fill and go in on Thursday for my 2nd. I feel like i am understanding my band better. I haven't weighed myself for a couple weeks but i did fit into a size 14 yesterday. I haven't fit in a 14 for years i started this journey in a size 20.

My Dr. doesn't use it. But it's nice to see other people from Washington on here

I just had my first fill yesterday. My Dr. said nothing to eat or drink 4 hours prior.

You can do it. I did 4 weeks of liquids post op. You're healing and if your Dr said to wait, then waiting is what you should do. Hang in there

If it is the taste you love, my surgeon did say that you could have Diet soda if you left it out long enough for it to go flat. No carbonation left in it = no problem. However, i think flat pop is gross so its not worth it to me, but everyone is different.

I had the same thing happen to me. I gained about 60 lbs in 4 months while they figured our it was my thyroid. I was just banded 2/22 so i hope to see such a great change in myself. You look great and are a great inspiration.

Love your post! I'm two weeks post op and completely understand all that you're talking about.
About the commercials, i am not even hungry and i want what they are showing. I've had to change the channel quite a few times to avoid the evil Pasta and pizza commercials.
And all the noises coming from me now are quite entertaining for my kids but no one else seems to appreciate them

My surgeon told me it would take the longest because that is where all of the biggest instruments are inserted during surgery. So there is more scar tissue there too that can burn or be sore as it breaks up during the healing process. No worries, I'm sure it will feel better soon.

Great job on the weight loss. I love reading others success stories. We have almost the same starting weight. When i started my 6 month with a nutritionist i was 258 lbs. I was 248 the morning of my surgery on 2/22 and I am now 239 lbs.

Best wishes! The surgery will be over before you even knew it started. Then off to the start of your new banded life

I told my family initially. I was going to have the surgery in December but i broke my ankle (long story) so i postponed being banded. After i cancelled it so many of my family members were relieved and started telling me how glad they were that i didn't go thru with it. My sister even said she was glad because she wasn't losing her diet buddy and she didnt want to be the only "fat sister". So recently I was banded on Feb. 22. Only my husband knew and i told my parents a few days before because we needed help with the kids. They were still a little skeptical but figured i was doing it either way. Now my family has all found out because we all know how well secrets are kept amongst family members It seems as tho they have realized it would have been better to be supportive from the get go because they felt awful that i had gone into surgery without their support or even their knowledge of it. They are coming around and asking more questions than ever.
Do what you know will improve you, others will learn to deal with it sooner or later.

My insurance only covered the first fill. Now they are $250 each time.
