    Started nightshift....

I've worked nights for almost 8 years now...I do 8hr and some 12hr shifts 11p-7a/ 7p-7a. I get anywhere from 5-6 hours of sleep during the day...if I'm lucky. My husband works 2nd shift, so he's with the kids while I sleep, then I get up for him to go to work. As far as exercise goes, I try to get on the treadmill whenever I can. I have a desk job, so sometimes I'll pull up chair exercises on youtube and do that while I'm working.

    Cheated

We all do it! (don't even ask me about the peanut butter cookies I baked a few weeks ago...OY!!) The best thing to do is to not get down on yourself, and just keep moving forward.

    how do others treat you??

People treat me different now, for sure! I get a lot of attention now, whether it's someone complimenting me on my weightloss, or I see a guy do a double take, or my family making some kind smartass remark. Lately, every time I go into work I become the talk of the room..."You look great! Doesn't she look great? How are you doing it?"....blah blah blah. I'm not going to lie, I'm struggling with all of it...the good and the bad! I think I'm just so used to being the fat girl that hid in the corner, hoping I wouldn't be noticed, that I wasn't prepared for this part of losing weight. I had no idea it would be like this. I think I'd handle it all better if I could see the physical changes in myself...I mean, I see it some days, but others I still see my fat, unhappy self. Luckily my husband is my biggest fan, and has been nothing but supportive from the beginning! I don't think I could do this without him by my side.

    kink in band

I'm assuming it's the port that's kinked (or is the the band itself?) They discovered my port was kinked, and I had to have a port revision in early June. All fixed, and working as it should now! Good luck, and feel free to msg me if you have any specific questions!

    Not losing

Remember, you're still healing! I went 3 weeks without losing a single pound right after surgery. Sounds like you're doing everything right, so just keep doing what you're doing and the weight will start coming off!
  7. I have a daily calorie 'budget' of 1200. Sometimes I eat less than that, but most days I stay close to 1200. I also focus on getting a minimum of 60g of protein, and drinking at least 64oz of water. I feel like I eat real, not diet...I haven't totally eliminated any of my favorite foods, and going out to eat remains part of my routine. I just make sure everything I eat stays within my daily calorie budget (I call it a budget, because it helps me to think of it as money in the bank...can't spend it if you don't have it)
  8. I try to eat a minimum of 1000 calories a day, and allow myself up to 1200 on days that I exercise (which isn't that often...need to start working on that!). I've lost over 60lbs since my surgery in February, so it's working for me.
  9. I'm probably going to need one, way too much fluid in my band and the dr can't get it out! Since fluid goes in, but doesn't come out (and there's no leak in the band) he'll need to revise the port. If you've had one, was it a pretty easy procedure? How about recovery? I appreciate any info from your experiences! Thanks!
  10. Thanks so much everyone!

when can I get back to work

I have a desk job, and I took 2 weeks as recommended by my surgeon. I'm so glad I did, because I had a lot of discomfort at the port incision for a while after surgery. I was also pretty tired. Of course, as others have said, everyone is different.
  12. You'll be just fine! The fill itself is super easy, and usually it takes a few fills before you get any real restriction. As long as you follow the rules (like chew chew chew ), you'll do great!

    Coffee (not decaf)??

I have a cup, sometimes two, everyday! I feel sorry for anyone who comes near me before I've had my morning coffee! haha

    Last case of Diet pepsi

Good luck! You can do it!! I was a total diet coke junkie, and gave it up the day before I started my pre op diet. It was hard the first couple days, but it's been 4 months now! I honestly don't even miss it anymore!

feel like a slave to the scale

Put the scale away for a while if it's making you discouraged. Try to focus on those non scale victories!! I weigh myself everyday, but for me I just use it to keep myself accountable. I can go days and days and days without a loss. I actually have a pair of jeans that I purposely bought a few sizes too small. I try them on once a week and each week I get closer and closer to wearing them! It's pretty amazing how the body changes! You've come so far already...keep up the great work!

    Stuck

Congrats on your loss so far! 15lbs in 3 weeks is pretty amazing! I know it's tough when the scale doesn't move, but you're still healing. If you're following all the rules, don't worry! The weight WILL come off!! Maybe put the scale away for a while if it's making you frustrated.
