    I gained 3lbs since yesterday

I have to break the weigh ever day thing. I am going to take the scale and put in out in the garage so I will only go it once every week or two. I fluctuate 2 pounds either way from day to day so get a little nervous. I belong to a 12 step program that deals with food and weight issues and we recommend on weighing once a month and I need to get back to that.
  2. I have had this issue. My port on the left side and my pain in rib cage on the back left and the pain goes almost to the spine. Had it for about 2 weeks or so after surgery and then it went away. Got back after fill and it went away after about 2 weeks, but still if I sit for too long, especially at the computer on lapband talk (lol) it will come back. Mowed the lawn today and it went away so exercise is important too I guess.

    Pain!! Help....

Had the same surgery and no pain with the hernia, but did use the little breathy thing till I got to around 3000. Have used those before due to asthma and copd. the gas will pass, but my pain went from about half way up my neck across the chest. could not lie down to sleep for 3 night, but that is normal for me due to insomnia so took it in stride and now sleep a little each night.

    Lettuce intolerance?

I buy bags of shredded lettuce that looks like what goes on tacos. then I take it home and cut it up some more and to date no problem.I have had one fill since surgery and have a total of 4cc so next week at get another 2 and then will try it again. You are not the first person to say they have had an issue with lettuce.

    Scared!!!

Applesauce and guacamole were my staples. I also steam a cauliflower and put it through the blender to look like mashed potatoes. Does not taste like MP but looks sort of the same and went down well.

    multivitamin

My doc said no flintstones as they are made for Kids and we need more Vitamins after surgery than there are in the flintstones.

    problem taking meds

I had small pills and no problem even with 2cc of saline in my band at surgery. Today after 4cc I still swallow pills. Most of my post op Vitamins are pill form. I can't stand the taste of the liquid vitamins.
  8. 2 cc at surgery and then 2 more at first fill.

    bubble guts and diareeah

I had just the opposite issue. I took a tablespoon of Milk of Magnesia every two days when I was on liquids. That protein mix just made mud in my system and I had to help getting it through.

Parents the start of over eating

You guys were lucky to be able to eat what was on your plate. My mother used to yell at me to slow down and not each so much. I seldom got dessert anyway as she told me fat people don't get to eat dessert.

A Penis Has A Rough Life

Ladies, I thought guys could get nasty and talk dirty. Very funny topic, but still don't see what it has to do with weight loss surgery.

woman has lapband removed so she can eat...

Very true what you say here. Could not imagine why she wanted to weigh what she does, but binge eating and compulsive (both of which I have the joy of dealing with) can be an issue and you got to have some mental change and working with a professional would have helped her. Sad story.

    CHICKENS HATE ME!!

I have meant others who have issues with chicken. I cut it up in such small pieces it looks like the chunky cat food I give my 8 pound cat. Eggs so far are ok, but I have a friend who has the Ruen Y and she has issues with eggs. Each of us is different. I have only had one fill after surgery so I have about 4 cc all total and I wonder if some of these foods will become an issue after more fills.

    eating disorders

Years before binge eating was classified as an eating disorder my therapist said I was a "non purging bulimic." I have been a binger from day one I am sure. For nearly 28 years I have been an active member of Overeaters Anonymous and this has helped some. I did the band because I could not release the weight in a way I felt comfortable. I have only been banded about 2 months but have lost around 35 pounds. With the support and structure of OA and the band and the support groups I go to at my bariatric clinic I am getting a lot more support. I must admit last night was not a good one. I bought something at the store that is sugar free, but it still became a binge food. Gave it to my roommate and I hope he enjoys. If not it goes in the garbage. I have used some therapy as well to help with the eating disorder. Wish you the best with your band and keep up the good work.

    Using the restroom

Had the same issue. I finally toward the end of the day after surgery I was able to give them enough it made the nurses happy. The night after surgery I had an ulta sound and the nurse said she might have to use a cath. As a guy tht is not something you want done without anesthesia. Never had one put in while awake, but have been told it is not pleasant. Removing when one is awake is an eye crosser for sure.

    Hands and feet freezing

OOPS should read "thick" socks not think socks. Fingers were cold, brain was too.l

    Hands and feet freezing

I have same issue and at home my house is 69 and my roommate is dying in the heat and I am wearing think socks and gloves and wrapped in a blanket. My MD and my surgeon say it is normal and will go away. I ask, "when?" but I get no answer.

Mike: We will be waiting to hear of your progress. Have you been through all the testing and set a surgery date?

    18 and 400 pounds

Mike you are on the right path. I too have had weight issues all my life. Now, at 66 I had the lap band. I knew was nearing 300 pounds and really wanted to live another 10 to 20 years. Go to support groups for surgeries. Lap band or any other gastric surgery you can find. I would also suggest a a 12 step program called Overeaters Anonymous. You will find that the surgery is not the end of it. You have to deal with life on life's terms and just having the surgery won't get the weight off until you deal with other things in your life. Over the years I have done it all from fad diets to weigh and pays, and OA has helped me the most. I did lose weight in OA but I needed the structure that the lap band is giving me. I have been banded since 2 19 13 and have lost about 35 pounds. Good luck on your journey which may at times seem like a roller coaster ride, but those too can be fun.
  22. I found a lap band group in Silverdale on the 2nd Tues of each month 6pm at Harrison Silverdale.
  23. I did find a lap band group in Silverdale Washington at the Harrison Hospital Silverdale. 2nd Tuesday at 6pm in the Iris Room. Have not attended but will put on my schedule for next month.
  24. yes, manboob. We guys get them after these types of surgeries. I am 7 weeks post op and mine are beginning to form. Or great more surgery to follow!
  25. There are support groups at the Naval Hospital in Bremerton. I don't go but a friend of mine does and if you don't have a military pass you have to make friends with someone who does and they and drive inside the gate. I go to the support groups in Seattle. Twice a month I take the ferry over it is worth the trip. There is a bariatric unit at Harrison hospital and they may know of support groups in Bremerton. I guess I should call too. Banded 2 19 and have lost 32.5 pounds.
