    Books?

I want in on this thread! I love to read. I am reading a book I found in the free kindle books on amazon called Wait For Me. Its really good!
  2. so i haven't used birth control for the last 7 years because we are hoping to ave one more beautiful baby to add to the bunch. but obviously my focus is on recovery and weight loss right now. i am 3 weeks out tomorrow and my obgyn said he would send me an rx to pick up at the pharmacy. my question is what does everyone prefer? it's been so long i'm not sure what's out there. i used the patch before and hated it. also used the nuva ring and could never get it to stay in (always came out during sex and about half way out during a bm- sorry if that is TMI). sounds like he is sending me a script for a pill. he said they are all basically the same so unless i requested a specific one he would just call in an everyday common one so it should be pretty text book!

    DELICIOUS protein shake!

yummy! i'm not a big creamsicle fan either but you get to a certain point with the shakes that anything new is better than just the taste out of the can!

Is peanut butter ok during full liquids stage?

i am just getting ready to place an order for it on amazon. wondering if you can just add the powder to shakes or if i have to mix the pb2 with Water first
  5. I read in prevention magazine a while ago that it is medically Provence that day 3 after a durgerynof any kind is typically worse than 1 or 2. Apparently you natural endorpbins are in high gear for the first two days ans thrrebis a huge drop on the third. So you are basically left with all of this pain all of a sudden. I really wasn't too bad with this surgery. More being unable to get comfortable than in pain. But I remember the 3rd day after my csections and ankle surgery. I thought I was gonna die!!! So hang in there. It will fer better. Oh and stay ahead of the pain. Take your pain mess as often as allowed even if you think you dont need them. Its much easier to control the pain from the start than it is to try to control it after it has gotten out of hand!
  6. She is gorgeous!!! I had a 36 weeker too. What an absolute blessing. We have suffered 3 miscarriages over the past 2 years and it has been difficult. We have 2 babies but have always felt in our hearts that our family is yet to be complete. Hoping after I shed some weight my chances st getting pregnant will improve. I also have pcos so I know how hard it is to try to get pregnant with having that illness. Enjoy your sweet beautiful girl. As far as the weight I don't have any suggestions except mayne just slowly start back up again with everything you.learner to do with your sleeve. You may just have to add some more calories dense(nut still healthy) foods since you are nursing. I know the energy that saps out of you but soliloquy worth it!
  7. I know exactly what you mean. I am 16 days out and for the first week I was miserable and wanted my old tummy back. It does get easier everyday. Some days are good and some arentnso good. Its like.a.funeral of sorts. In the past when I was sad or emotional I would eat myself silly. Now I cant so I have do deal with those emotions. For the first week and a.half I would laynin bed at.nightnand.just sob. My husband was beside himself worrying about me and I was so full of regret but too embarased to say so. Emotionally I have stabalized and are.feeling.better each day. Still have moments of what did I do???? But they are fewer and fewer as time goes on. Having people notice the weight loss already helps too. Hang in there. Allow yourself to cry when younneed to. Don't be afraid to call ur Dr if ur pain meed aren't helping. Best of luck to u! This is a great site with lots of supportive people so definitely take advantage of that!
  8. i have the same problem. i just got the clear today to go to pureed, came home and blended up 1 slice of peach from a can of sliced peaches in water and 1/2c 1%cottage cheese. i figured i could eat 1/2 of it. 2 small bites in and i am stuffed. i wonder if this gets better over time or if maybe my sleeve is too tight and i'll just have to live with it!
  9. Its nothing hair products can help. Its a direct result of rapid weight loss and/or lack of Protein. Just get your protein in take your vitaminz(save you money on the Biotin too) and ride it out. It stops once you weight loss smooths a bit and your body readjusted to the new eating patterns
  10. Do you have a nut?? I would def not try it with candy. Maybe even some full fat Greek yogurt everyday or add some heavier items to the meals your already eating (nuts avocado maybe 2% milk instead of skim)
  11. I was on a self activated morphine pump which I HATED!!!!! Gave me the worst of headaches, only lasted 8 minutes so every 8 minutes I was waking up uncomfortable, and the dumb pump was noisy! I didn't think it really did much for the pain. Just made me sleepy for 8 min. I finally said I did not want that anymore and they gave me toradol through my iv. That was my magic potion. That and benedryl. I itch like crazy from the anesthesia every time I've ever had it! I went home with Percocet tabs that I cut in half. I only took them for about 3 nights. And only at night soi could get a good rest. During the day I took an extra strength Tylenol cut in half. Didn't bother my belly but I did take it when I had a shake. Just remember that when you are in the hospital to speak up if a med is not working for you. There are many many they can try and you doc will typically have written orders for multiple rx in case u don't like one. My nurse said she never wanted me above a 3 on the pain scale when I was in bed or in the chair. Slows healing to be in pain.

    Broke Into the 100's!

You can do it! Keep truckin' along girl!
  13. Weighed in at 197!!!!! can't tell you how excited i am. haven't been out of the 200's in 8 or 9 years! i guess that's the positive to not being able to tolerate any food at 13 DPO!?!?
  14. Thinking of ordering one of the nectar fruit shakes just to have something not so heavy and creamy like the injury. Just for a change! I wanted to order the sample pack with all the flavors but they've been on back order for months. Did anyone try a fruity flavor they loved? And is it really more like a juice than a milky shake?
  15. So i am on my full liquids phase (13 DPO) and thinned grits is on my paper from the Nut. i just found a packet of cheddar cheese flavored instant grits in my pantry. do you think this is okay???? i haven't been able to eat anything since last friday except a total of 1c tomato soup diluted with water and apple juice diluted with water. i am sooooo sick of the protein chicken broth and i've developed a bad lactose intolerance so the milk protein shakes are not happening! i know it's not a good thing but i've basically just stopped eating. tired of trying things and having it come back up.this packet of grits sounds super yummy but not sure if it is okay!

    Scared has helll

You will not be hungry at all! But the desire to eat yummy food will still be there. It's often referred to as head hunger. Especially since the majority of us are emotional eaters! That has been the hardest part for me. But knowing I could kill myself if I eat something I'm not supposed to takes care of that for me. But I'll say that I am not the nicest person to be around right now. Grumpy and irritable!
  17. first time that happened. i had it in my mouth for about 5 minutes and blahhhhh. any recommendations for non-barfing chewable vitamins

    vitamin issues

my nut gave me a printed out comparison of about 10 different vitamins. many of them being vitamins specific to bariatric patients. flintstone vitamins everything that the bariatric vitamins have. her advice was why spend the extra money when you can share with your kids! the only other thing she said to take was 30 mg of ferrous fumerate (iron) but you can't take it with your multi. any a citrical petite if you can't do dairy.

    watee makes me feel yucky?!

how far out are you??? i have been the same way up until yesterday. i think for me it's been like when you have the flu or when i get motion sick. my nurse in the hospital told me it has something to do with your body chemistry and water lacking any sodium or sugar content. have you tried any juice in your water? my secret concoction has been to fill a glass to the very top with crushed ice, add water to about 2/3 full and then top it off with either apple or cranberry juice. just stay away from any citrus juices. i found a 100% cranberry/ blueberry. also apple/white grape is nice and easy on the tummy! i tried walmarts brand of crystal light grape and fruit punch and they were just gross to me. i have never liked any artificial sugar subs but if you can handle them maybe try those as is or diluted. good luck. this journey is soooo crazy hard but i know one day i will appreciate my new belly.

    Grits?

thanks for the feedback. i am just so paranoid of little pieces of food getting stuck in my staple line. i know i am going to hear it from my nut when i go on wed!!! she is pretty hardcore about getting your protein in an i am getting under 10g a day if even that.
  23. I had my gallbladder out a few years ago and the pain was identical. Hurt the first day and then just sore and hard to get comfortable. The worst part for me was being so tired for about 4 days. Just couldnt stay awake. Congrats to you and prayers for a smooth surgery.
