  1. Should also add that I RAN a 3.5 mile race last week too!! This will be the BEST decision you ever made for yourself!
  2. Funny as I just posted progress pics earlier this evening ... I am 6 months out and 1/2 way there but this is the 6 month mark for me. Make sure you take pics monthly so you can see the difference and enjoy the journey
  3. Glad I take pictures along the way for the rough days December 3rd preop start date Yesterday
  4. Also look at the UP by jawbone. I like it because you wear as a bracelet. The fitbit was too small for me, I'd lose it
  5. Good luck. I couldn't run 1 minute downhill on march 28th and ran a 3.5 mile race last Wednesday
  6. Life changing!!! If you haven't tried it. Try it!!
  7. Not every band gets fills, I have been very fortunate that although I don't feel restriction as of right now the band is enough. And yes running would have NEVER been possible. I started running downhill only on 3/28 and literally lasted a minute. Bought the couch to 5k app for my phone and it changed my life!! Thanks for all the encouragement!!!!
  8. Had my 6 month check up today and down 68lbs since preop began on 12/3! And that included a few really bad weeks of work and personal travel where I gained about 7lbs, but lost them again . Even RAN a 3.5 mile race last week in NY. Wasn't fast or necessarily pretty but I did it!!!! This is the best decision I have ever made for myself!
  9. Thanks everyone. Glad to see I am not the only one! And thankfully the vacation was great!
  10. 8lb gain in 6 days!!! Was on a cruise logged every calorie and even worked out. God willing most of this is water retention or something as I was actually eating healthy!! So disappointed right now!!
  11. Lol. It's actually I shouldn't type while in the car
  12. Bad English above but you get the gist
  13. My parents are friends with his parents and shared they shared my success to date with them this morning. Pretty cool
  14. Thanks I honestly feel fine and it was the equivalent of three drops of blood so I am not overly panicked. The dr will call me in the am and hopefully it is nothing just wanted to see if it happened to anyone else
  15. The dr isn't in and I am home with a 3 yr old so there is no way I can do anything until tomorrow. Just seems weird and I will call in the am
  16. Been banded since 12/14- to date I have no fills but occasionally get stuck just by having the band. My dr confirms that this happens, just not often. In the last 3 days I have gotten stuck twice (most recent time being a few minutes ago). Both times on the last slime there were small (very, very small) speckles of blood. Has anyone else had this? I know I need to call the dr in the am, but was just curious. Any help you can lend would be greatly appreciated. )
  17. Oops typo. 60lbs. Fingers are still chubby for iPhone typing
  18. Since preop started December 4th. Surgery the 14th, no fills yet and down 69lbs as of today!! Life changing!!! Riding my bike again and signed up for a 5k on June. Still have 80-90 to go but well on my way!!
  19. I actually have yet to get a fill. My band is empty, perhaps it may be time for my first fill
  20. I was banded on 12/14 and have done very well. 54lbs since preop started on 12/3. Got the stomach flu on Easter and didn't eat for 3 days. And then come Wednesday when I could eat I went to town and made a lot of bad decisions! Ate nothing but crap for two days and was almost in a constant state if grazing. I am determined to wake up tomorrow and be back on track and thankfully even though I dropped 5 lbs when I was sick, net net I was down .8 for the week. So I am thankful this didn't completely backfire on me! I guess this is all part of the journey but I need to get myself back on track and NOW!!!
  21. I am an extremist and weigh myself twice every day. Once in the am and once in the evening. This also helps me gauge how I handle certain foods as I track all my food too! Had I been this diligent all along I would have never been 300+ lbs. you have to do what works for you and when it works for you. Had a done this on other diets the slightest fluctuation would have sent me on a downward spiral. But now that it's a lifestyle change I am more just curious how much I fluctuate on a given day and what my food choices were on that day. Good luck to you
  22. Thanks everyone. Still have 85-90 to go, but this helps. I think everyone should take monthly pics to get them trough the rough patches!!!
