Ugh even tho I haven't had anything but water for 3 hours I suddenly feel stuck. What's going on? I ate a scrambled egg around lunch time. I took tiny tiny bites and ate it with a shrimp fork. But would it suddenly make me feel stuck 3 hours later?

I did the same. It tasted so so so good too! lol granted anything would have after 11 days without food.

I was thinking refried beans or a scrambled egg. Get some Protein too. I also have mashed potatoes on hand and I'm salivating thinking of them tho! lol -
I miss food!

My doctor said I could start on some soft food this weekend even tho I'm not technically 2 weeks out yet. He said some women sometimes need that and he also knew I may need it going back to work. However I have been way too scared to try! As much trouble as I had with some liquid in the beginning, eating seems terrifying. Even a few days ago I had leftover soup come up (stayed down the first time I don't know why it didn't the second time) and still forget and drink too much too fast and it comes right back. -

I got this from a nurse in the hospital!!! "Aren't you kind of small to be having this surgery?"
-
One of my friends asked why I didn't just do diet and exercise instead of have the surgery. I. Hate. People.

kristlynngirl replied to miklavic's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Another Pittsburgh girl here. I'm just south of the city tho. Had my surgery on the 6th of this month at West Penn. -
I had initially planned on a week but then realized I was in no shape to go back. So, it'll be 12 days post op for me. Today I'm 9 days and finally feeling like myself but just in slow motion.

I'm planning on going back Tuesday and I feel like I'm going to need to take a stadium cooler with me! lol

I feel like I'm constantly feeding - or more like watering - my pouch. Like non stop between tea, water, shakes, broth, Popsicles....I almost feel like I'm putting in too much but I'm only managing like 40-50g of protein and 70ish oz fluid. I feel like I have time to do nothing but drink drink drink.

Seems we're all feeling good today so far!!! Keep it up!!! I cannot believe I'm 9 days out and down 14.6 lbs!!! My doctor didn't lie when he said I'd lose 1-2 lbs a day for the first few months!!!

how did u decide bypass ?
kristlynngirl replied to mom24kiddos's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wanted the best chance at long term success with the lowest risk of another surgery down the road. The sleeve did not appeal to me because its so "new" and there's no long term info on it. I originally thought I wanted a band until my surgeon staff showed me the difference in percentage of excess weight lost between the band and the bypass. -
I finally slept all night! I feel like a new woman!

I had the worlds tiniest BM a few days ago. Today it finally really woke up. I'm day 8. But I'm full liquids so I have been putting protein and calories in.
-
I think everyone goes thru it. But now being on the other side I can say I worried more than I should have. I'm not saying this has been easy. It isn't easy at all! But a lot of the things I worried about never happened.
-
Well my intestines finally woke up! Yeah. Liquids in, liquids out. Ugh. Sorry for the TMI.

I found I'm able to take larger sips which has me really excited because my mouth felt dry almost taking baby sips. Is this normal? It's maybe like a half of a mouthful and only two or three at a time. But it's easier than baby sipping for an hour to drink a bottle of water.

I'm whooped too. I can only tackle about ten minutes of housework at a time. It's like my apartment exploded around me and I'll never get it back in order.

I didn't have one. My surgeon said he rarely places them unless the patient is "different inside" lol
