I have been at goal for a few months so I experiment with new foods. Well i'm addicted to crunchy peanutbutter. I have at least two tablespoons a day and usually with a apple. I count it with my calories and I stay within my limit but I can't stop eating it whether it be for breakfast, or lunch or snack. It's a good fat and source of protein, high in calories but it feels like a treat for me esp if I throw a tablespoon of ff cool whip on it.

yummy I usually have golden delicious..will try Fuji! -
I totally agree with ya Mis however they are not allowing her to do so. I was simply throwing the suggestion of fmla out there. She also stated drs appt wasn't sure if that was for a fill or follow up. Yvonne best of luck with your situation and I hope you have a good visit whenever you can get there !!
-
Follow up drs appts for in which the condition you applied for fmla are covered. I actually fill out this paperwork all the time in my doctors office. No different that having knee replacement and following up with an appt when ur back to work. It says on paperwork will patient require future visits and how often. If the papers are filled out correct shld be no problem.
-
You certainly don't sound like one who abuses the system. You can apply for fmla for drs appts other family members etc. I would keep your appt and and ask for fmla papers. You certainly don't have to explain your medical issues to anyone u don't want to. Good Luck
-
Did u apply for fmla when u had sx? Even if u didn't u can still apply and take the day off for drs appts if the paperwork u fill out includes taking off for appts. Fmla protects your job and you don't need to explain anything other than ur using a fmla day.

Lean Cuisines and Frozen Meals
bethcav replied to LipGlossedDespot's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I eat lean cuisine probably twice a week when I don't feel like cooking. My favorite is macaroni and beef 250 calories and stuffed cabbage 210 calories. I myself don't count carbs so they make a low calorie dinner choice for me on occasion. -
Your welcome..believe me when I say I'm right with ya..I know how u feel..hate getting hair cuts, hate walking in front of people because my hair thin in crown area also, but my manager said the other day my hair seemed to be growing back in and that made my day. I know I ll never have that thick hair but I've learned to style accordingly and take biotin faithfully. Would I do it all over again knowing my hair would get thinner? You betcha sweet ass I would lol. Hang in there and relax
-
I would make an appt with your pcp and ask for a tsh level to check your thyroid. I have hypothyroidism which caused my hair to thin ten years ago. But after banding it got worse so I def can sympathize with you. But I can honestly say it seems to havr slowed. Dr also recommended skin.hair and nail vit but they are huge pills and are to be takin 3x daily.
-
I completely understand what your going through!! I was banded May and by July I noticed a difference I in my hair becoming thinner. Always had thin hair but it has become more noticeable. I part my hair to the side to cover the scalp in the middle. I can say I see that its slowing down now six months later. I did lose very fast and my Dr thinks that could be why. I take biotin 10,000 mcg daily how much are u taking ? I also wash my hair every other day instead of daily. It does slow down u just have to wait it out, take vits and make sure u keep protein intake high..hang in there!!

I also have experienced hair loss. My hair had already been thin due to hypothyroidism. I have always been so embarrassed to get even a haircut and when I started to lose weight I really noticed a difference! I spoke with my surgeon and he said since I lost weight at a rapid pace that can happen and try biotin which I've started abt five months ago and I can see a small difference. I take 10,000 mcg daily. My nails are growing fast if only my hair would!! I comb it on the side to cover up the baldness in the front, I've thought abt extensions, etc. But I will just continue to take biotin and keep protein intake up because if this is the only side effect from the band i ll live with it. Been banded since May of this year lost 107 lbs hit goal last month and I love my new bff. Hang in there it will get better..I also by fat hair shampoo by Sammy and some of his hair care products at walgreens

I was banded May of this year lost 105 lbs at my goal which is 164.. I have been on 1200 calories daily exercising 4 x week (30 min treadmill). Nutrionist says can bump up calorie intake to 1500. I'm not convinced thats what I shld do for fear of gaining weight, yet if I follow 1200 do I continue to lose? Any advice ? Love the forums been sitting back n reading them for the past year but yet to participate!!

You can try turkey slices, cheese sticks, bananna or apple with peanutbutter (my fav),today I had cottage cheese n sugar free peaches, yogurt..I personally haven't had protein shakes since post op I rather eat my calories lol, when I get fills I do use liquid protein for a day or two mixed with sugar free cranberry juice.
-
Autumn since you just had ur surgery I wld follow up with ur surgeon with the leg pain to b sure u don't have blood clot ..simple test is to make sure ur legs not red or warm and pull ur foot towards urself if there is pain in calf you shld see Dr...if just cramping then drink some gatorade,oj,bananna..u can incorporate into protein shakes..
