  1. Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well. Here's my problem! Since my first appointment with my nutritionist, I have been walking 30 minutes a day. Now that I've had my surgery, I'm feeling like I should up my exercise, but I'm really dragging my feet on that. I'd love to hear ways that you guys motivate yourselves to get your heart rate up. I just feel a little overwhelmed when it comes to really exercising.

  2. Do you mind me asking how much you lost during the one week of pre op dieting? I only had to do clears for 3 days so I only lost a few lbs. My one week check up is this Wednesday. I'm not going to be anywhere near 40 lbs down! I Have been hoping to be down 15 lbs. at my one week check up. Congrats for you though! That's awesome!

I don't mind at all! I lost 19lbs on my week pre op liquid diet. I only had Atkins shakes, broth, Water, and Jello. It was brutal! I didn't expect to lose 40 either. Completely shocked!

  3. Hi Everyone! Today was my first follow up appointment with my Dr. My surgery was on Nov.16th and with the holiday, this was the first time my doctor was in my area. Y'all, I have lost 40lbs. This includes my 1 week of liquids pre-op. I am thrilled, and awed, and thankful! I was too excited not to share.

    Hope everyone is doing well!!

  4. Hi Sweetsam! I haven't had a fill yet - I'm newly banded. My doc did say though, that after each fill I'm to be on liquids for 3 days then work my way back to solids 3 days at a time like I did just after surgery. He said that it will take time for my stomach to adjust to the tighter band. Like I said...no experience with this yet...it's just what my doc said that I will do after my fills. Maybe it'll help you? Good Luck...and hope you feel better! :)

  5. Hi everyone! Well, I survived. I had surgery on Friday, 11/16. I ended up having to spend the night in the hospital because they removed my gallbladder at the same time. I came home yesterday, and am doing well. I do not have an appetite at all, I'm sure it's surgery related and not band related. I drank a Protein shake this morning (it took about 2 hours), so I was pretty proud of myself. Since then though, it's been sips of broth and Water. I am on a clear liquid diet minus the shake until Friday, when I'll be moved to full liquids. Aside from the gas pains, though, I've done well! Even went to wal-mart today with the hubby to walk.

Hope everyone is doing well! Talk again soon!

  6. Hello! I am so very excited that there is a site like this specifically for lap band patients. :) I will be having my surgery on Friday, 11/16 (eek!). That's just day after tomorrow...wow! I'm currently on the liquid diet, and it sucks a whole lot...but there's an end in sight.

I'm very much looking forward to sharing my story, fears, and success with all of you. I'm here to offer support for everyone as well!

    Have a great day!
