Is This Normal Or Should I Call The Doctor?
I was banded 11/7, and yes all of that is normal. You are probably breathing through your mouth at night because of the tube put down your throat during surgery. Drink lots of Water, and swish it around your mouth. Lol I also brushed my teeth a lot because it gave me a different taste. As for restriction, you don't have any yet... Your band should be wide open, and your stomach is just getting used to having it there. BUT it is important to stick to your 1/4 cup portions. It will be easier for when there is restriction! I get my first fill 12/21 and am excited to see how it will fill. Walk around a lot to get that air out of your body! It will help so much! Good luck!

Full Liquid Ideas
Somehow they want me to try to get 80g of Protein... As of right now, there's no way. Lol. I live out in the middle of nowhere so the fancy yogurt is nowhere to be found. I have been having the FF Activia yogurt, it's really good and 1/4 cup so it's easy, but I think it's only 7g? It also serves both purposes. I think I can probably stand to have a shake, not that I really want one, but just because I'm getting desperate for something. Just went for a 45 min walk though, so I need something!

Bye Bye 200S

It is unflavored, but there's just something about it that is gross. I guess I need to find a different kind, but then again, I don't want up go broke trying different kinds that I don't like.- Full Liquid Ideas
I'm 9 days post op, and in the full liquid stage! Struggling getting enough Protein in, and trying not to eat anything normal. (I've had a few bites of things and its gone down fine, but I really want to stick to the rules) I have Protein powder, but it tastes so nasty! Any ideas?!- To Own A Scale, Or Not...
I want to get one, but I couldn't stand to look at it everyday and possibly gain weight. It just takes me back to when I initially gained all my weight. Although, if I'm consistently loosing weight it would be incentive to keep going.- To Own A Scale, Or Not...
Why do you all think about owning a scale to weigh everyday? Or is it better to wait month to month to see how much you've lost and be surprised? I'm contemplating buying one, but thought this might be a good conversation.- Lapband Op 14/11/12
I was banded a week ago 11/7, and believe me, it will get better! That pain in your chest and shoulder will go away, but walk as much as you can! We have a ranch and I walked from the house to the gate (about 100 yards or so) and I would do that 2 or 3 times a day. Jello, broth and diluted fruit juice, and Water of course. Good luck!- Why Is Mfp Not A Good Tool For Some Ppl?
1200 Calories! I'm on full liquids, and I only had 350 today.- Pain At Port Site?
Well I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I notice it more at night, and when I try to roll on my side when sleeping. I'm starting to feel the actual port though, it's kind of hard... I guess I didn't really know what to expect. I'm getting my first fill on Dec 22st, I'm a little nervous with it being right before Christmas, and I'll be on solid foods by then. I wonder what it feels like after getting a fill, or how much they fill on the first one... I guess we'll see! Anyone have any good recipes for full liquids? With lots of Protein? Hope everyone is doing good with their loss!- Pain At Port Site?
I'm a week out of surgery, and healing fine. The last couple days I have had really sharp pains under the largest incision (which is that the port?). Has anyone else had pain like this? What can I do? How long does it last?- 16 Days Post Op, Down 20 Lbs
I had surgery last Wednesday, so 6 days post op, and at my appt yesterday, I had only lost 3 lbs. it was kind of discouraging because I've had nothing but broth, Jello and Water... How can you not lose more? I'm excited to get to full liquids tomorrow, and start adding Protein back into my diet. I hope it helps with a more rapid loss. Anyone have any good options for full liquids?- Butterfinger Protein Shake
My dietitian said that the full liquid diet after surgery is to let your digestive tract heal. The band is foreign to your body, so if you did eat normal food it would really mess up your insides and get stuck places and you would get really sick. I'm 5 days post op and still on Clear Liquids, will move to full liquids on Wednesday! Can not wait!- LizAndrews
