    Should I Be Worried?

Ok, UPDATE!!!! I woke up to go to the potty (potty??? guess you can tell I still have babies at home with me) and one of my steri strips has fallen off. I know that yyou guys said not to worry, but I'm kinda paranoid that there is nothing covering the incision! I don't want irritation and then infection to settle in from having a bare incision site. On Friday, I had the iBand (Band with imbrication/plication) and hernia repair, so I have a total of five scars; four of which are on the left side. The one that fell off is the lowest one on the left side. Also, I have broken out into some sort of rash on my sides. The bumps are small and resemble "goose bumps" and the itch. I know that the possibility of everything going perfectly is a dream, but when I do notice things and changes, I feel this forum is a lifesaver so that I can good great advice! Please put my mind at ease! Thanks in Advance, Banditiff
  3. So, I had surgery on Friday around 12:30 and I was home by 4:30. By the time I made it home all I wanted to do was take a dose of my meds and then go to sleep. Saturday when I woke up my appetite still had not picked up, so I just kind of sipped on chicken broth throughout the day. My real problem came on Sunday. . . I knew that my doctor wanted me to start having 2 to 3 protein shakes a day, but that was virtually impossible. When I made an 8oz. shake, I could only take in about 2 oz. Same with today. . .I don't know what to do!!! It's not that the shakes are intolerable, because they are really good (Syntrax Nectars Double Stuffed Cookie. . . www.mybariatricpantry.com), it is just that I am really FULL after about 3 or 4 sips!?! What would you Lapband Guru's suggest?
  4. Thanks, Cheznoel! I knew you would come through for me!!

    Burrito Bowls

This sounds so good, but I'm only 3 days post! I will definitely be keeping this in my notes for future use! Thanks!!!
  7. I was on a liquid diet for five days before my surgery and a week post (where I am now). 2nd week post I can move to mushies, which means I can have anything that is the consistency of baby food. 3rd week post I will move onto soft foods such as scrambled eggs, chicken salad (who would have thunk it. . . but it's on my list) and things of that nature. 4th week is my try and see period. I am not restricted as far as what I can eat; but it will be a trial and error time where I see what my body will now tolerate! The funny thing is craving something, when you aren't even hungry! It makes me feel like a super woman. . .I crave things, but I can pass them by because being healthy is much more rewarding! BTW, I've been craving the Neiman Marcus Cobb Salad. . . guess it'll have to wait until December 21st when I hit 4 weeks! I'm surprised my cravings aren't fried catfish and fries! That actually sounds gross to me and I'm only 3 days out. I think that the mental preparation that I did pre-op has really helped with my willpower!

  10. I am currently 2 days post-op (I had surgery Friday) and I have the driest mouth! When I wake up in the morning, my mouth is so super dry that it is had to swallow my own spit (tmi, I know). When I touch my tongue with the tip of my finger it feels as if a shell has formed on my tongue. . . that is how dry I am; my throat as well. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that I feel that I have absolutley NO restriction. I am still on the liquid phase of my diet, but when I drink water or Crystal Light, I can actually take large gulps with no problems. It's crazy, because I can feel the water going down mt throat, through the band and then into my tummy. . . it feels so good when the cold fluid reaches my tummy. Is all of this normal, or is it cause to call the doctor?? Please help me!!THANKS IN ADVANCE, Banditiff

    The November 'band'wagon!

Yeah, Gas-X hasn't done anyhing for me! I can't get to the arrow on the breathing thingie, either! Ladies, yesterday was REALLY bad for me. . . I had SO much trapped gas that I thought I as gonna die. I didn't think that gas could hurt so much! Walking, heating pad and the liquid hydro are helping alot! Today is MUCH better! I put a mug of White grape-peach 100% juice in the microwave and steeped a bag of decaf Tazo Chai Tea in it! It was delicious and I didn't have to add sweetner. . . I think it helped with the gas a bit and really soothed my tummy!
