  1. That's what I bought but I had milk this weekend and I was fine. It's only when I have these protein shakes.
  2. Good for you!! I'm so happy for you and happy I get to share in this moment with you! Embrace it! You deserve it!!
  3. Does anyone get a stomach ache after having their protein shake? Or did you when you first started drinking them? I've noticed that when I have mine my stomach feels off... I read online that you may just need to adjust to the high co contested protein, so I'm curious to know if any of you ha this reaction.
  4. Thank you! I'm keeping my fingers crossed... My union is the stickler right now
  5. Are you banded? I'm just curious to know if you're banded why you're not there. I'm pre op so I'm trying to get everyone's opinions and stories if they don't mind sharing.
  6. Congratulations!! How exciting!! I'm sure you're even more motivated now! Way to go!
  7. I want to thank you for posting this! I am pre op and this is one of my biggest concerns! Good for you for stopping when u knew you should have and thanks again for posing this!!
  8. Ok- just spoke with my doctors office and we set a tentative surgery date for February 6th pending approval from my instance an local u ion
  9. Oh boy! I'm so sorry for your struggles! I hope that you are doing better now that you got your band opened up. Thank you everyone for your advice and stories. I think I am losing sight because someone I knew just got the sleeve done and lost 32 lbs the first month... I think I got caught up in that awesome weight loss. I think I'm going to stick with the band.. I truly don't like the thought of my stomach being cut off forever.. and gastric bypass scares me. I know two people who have had terrible complications from it. Thank you all for your shoulders and ears
  10. I am now torn between the two also. I am scheduling my surgery date tomorrow hopefully but I am so scared I will fail on the band...
  11. I am going yo schedule my surgery date tomorrow but now I am contemplating between the band as the sleeve. I am so scared that I will fail on the band because if lack of willpower... I've failed on very other diet attempt, so how will this be any different? Is this a normal feeling? I'm torn and lost..
  12. So I found out that yes LBS is covered , however the doctor visits at my surgeons office are not. Very annoying. I don't understand how it works. But I guess that's sort of good news
  13. I have MagnaCare which is through my employer, however I am in a union. It's confusing
  14. There is nothing posted online. I do have a book from my union talking about my coverage and exclusions. That's how I found it...
  15. Ok, so I called my instance three times before I went to my seminar and 2 out of three people said that lap band was 100% covered. Now the doctors office is staying they're not sure because of how things are worded. My insurance says it covers "surgical bypass" for obesity.. Doesn't that mean only gastric bypass? I'm losing hope.
  16. Ok so I had my endoscopy on Monday ad everything was fine, however since then I've had a terrible stomach ache and a bit nauseous. I also just started new birth control pills and its%
  17. Ok so I had my endoscopy on Monday ad everything was fine, however since then I've had a terrible stomach ache and a bit nauseous. I also just started new birth control pills and its my TOM. I don't know whether this is due to the endoscopy or my TOM. Also, I started drinking the EAS carb control protein shakes. I called my doctor that did the endoscopy and he said it is possible it's still gas from the procedure. What do you all think? Have any of you had this reaction ether after your endoscopy or after using these drinks for the first time?
  18. thanks for the tip! I'll definitely utilize it!
  19. I'd love to hear some of your favorite we boated to god low carb recipes or ones you've come across on your own! I'm hoping to be banded soon so I want to be prepared. Thanks everyone!
  20. Thank you for all of your support and tips! So far so good! I actually don't know if I say it's a preop diet.. They just want me to get used to the diet and try protein shakes and shrink my liver if possible. I don't have to be on this for any amount of time, it's just me wanting to be more proactive. My insurance does not require a preop diet luckily!
  21. So I met with my doctor yesterday and I'm just waiting to set up a surgery date, but I'm attempting to follow my phase III diet of two protein shakes 1 small snack and 3 oz protein and veggies for dinner. I'm hungry but it's almost time for protein shake number 2! Eek
  22. Thank you all for your suggestions. I I'd like the eas carb control one. My doctor said no more than 110 calories, 3 grams of fat max, and 4 carbs max so that fits perfectly. I tried the strawberry cream one and it tasted like strawberry milk! It wasn't cold so I got a slight aftertaste but it was ok.
  23. I've been using Protein Shakes for years, but I'd love your recommendations! What are you all using and enjoying or used and enjoyed? I just bought the EAS one tonight in French vanilla and strawberry cream.
