Here for my EGD

Ive been so excited about my new journey date approaching (march 22) . Ive had 2 goals for quite a long time. 1. I do not want to be fat at my sons graduation (dec 2013) and I want to be fab at 50. (LOL) I will be banded March 22, that's 4 days after my 49 birthday. I must admit Im excited and scared. The excitement of course is self explaining. Scared because I am reading so much about how people crash emotionally post op. Please, I like my doctor and his staff but I haven't really been explained much. Please everyone share your experience and knowledge with me. Thanks in advance!! This site is GREAT !!!

With a low BMI but having diabetes should qualify you. Do you have any arthritis, acid reflux or sleep apnea?

After years of being fat, a million of failed diets, 6 months of trying, 4 denials its seeming surreal, my life is changing. Feb 28 EGD and the official date of a new life is March 22. To all of you who are wanting to give up....Please don't. Dreams do come true. Fight for what you believe. Although I am certainly no pro, I will help any one who is struggling with approvals. I personally have Tricare. God bless all of you and thanks for the encouragement.

I have in my hand my official approval letter!!! After 4 denials I have it!!! I was ready to give up but you guys encouraged me not to!! EGD on the 28th.

my program fee includes 1 pre and 1 post op nutrition meeting and 30 dollars per visit afterwards. once a month support group and facebook chat. fills are totally seperate

is it typical to be charged a program fee ? dr 1 charges one $400 plus $100 for food. Dr 2 does not charge one.

I forgot the most important part in my plea above. I am now being told that dr 1 no longer does plication due to paperwork and it could be months before he does again, if ever. During the initial consult I was basically told lapband alone was not enough, but now suddenly it is ?????
