this is the reason why I havent told my dad or my brother.. and I belive my brother does have it peirced so he cant say anything about that... but what I would to is.. (do they still have Office depots???) go buy a 3x5 card binder ring of the biggest diameter possible and tell him this is the one they used to test fit before the surgery... and leave it on his desk.

I bet you that he goes and tries it on... lol.

I have started doing my liquid diet today... to get a head start... date is for the 29th of Nov. It sucks! Soup this morning, soup for lunch... got this Protein poweder.. Muscle Milk... yeah it sucks. The wife is being a Nazi... good for me though cause Im hungry... and she is a fighter. Trying to think how a 3000+ calorie diet to only 500 today with my normal bike rides and swimming laps is a good thing? LOL. This cant be healthy.

Can anyone suggest a good shake that actually taste like what the label says? I would like an invite to the FB page. Stowe63@gmailcom

I am going to start my liquid diet now, as I will "have" to cheat for a couple of days (reservations at a Gordon Ramsey rest. in Dubai etc... ).

Not sure how or what I am going to drink on this diet... bought a thermos for work. The wife is excited because she loves Soup and I hate it.

Do what I do at parties.. . I dont drink, but I will carry hald empty beer so people stop asking why I am not drinking.

My biggest reason, and my cardio doc asked me today... I am in the Middle East and am not 100% sure how many this doctor has done, or how many people he has killed while doing it. LOL.. just kidding... to a point.

I dont want my insides cut up, you dont know the future and what happens if you get sick and they need to remove that last part of your stomach... now you have a one way do not pass go from your mouth to your diapers.

Yes, I am having it here in Bahrain. The hospital is less than 10 miles from my flat and it is a pretty popular procedure here too. Worse comes to worse Dubai is only an hour flight and they have some of the best medical care in the world... and its a great place to visit.

I am not looking foward to this part... we have been looking for ideas... I have limited resources (aka: grocery stores) where I am at... so what are you doing?

Damn... my doc told me to stay home two weeks and I ride a bike to work and cant do that for 3 weeks he says... walking is going to suck - its still gets into the 90's here...

I did one a year ago.... they woke me up in the frst 3 minutes of going to sleep to put a CPAP on... took a while to get used to the mask. When I went to go pick everything up from the RX the guy there talked me into a nose only mask, these things sit on my nostrals... HATE IT. Trying to get a new mask now that I am using the machine again and they cost $400+ here where I am at and trying to get the RX to bill the insurance company is a real PIA. Good luck. My wife slept in the chair next to me... good times!

Doc told me two weeks... but if I want to start now... a none fat liver is where you want to be when you go into surgery. I am going to need all the luck I can get... I dont even like soup!! Urgh.

Not much to tell. I am waiting for my date with the doc; just got done jumping through some insurance hoops. Been trollin on this forum for a few days and like it so I decided to join up.

I am still waiting to see the cardiologist and anestiologist... totally spelt thouse wrong I am sure. Oh.. and the food person.. how to eat, when to eat and where to eat... lol.

41.1% BMI, even though the online calculators say 59% the doc says that I do have a lot of muscle mass - my response was duh. He says that I should be down to 265lbs by this time next year and that is a good safe weight for me.

Unfortunatly I am taking another risk and not having this done in the US, I am currently working and living in Bahrain (little island between Saudi Arabia and Iran), but this doctor seems to be very knowledable, or we read the same websites. lol. The other hospitals and doctors recommended him by name.
