    Two week follow-up

I am also a 12/21 bandster.... I have been feeling great and have lost 15 lbs since my surgery. Total I have lost 35 lbs including preop diet. This is the best decision I have ever made. Great job everyone for your weight loss.
  2. Mara005, I watched all your recipes and they look delicious. I am 9 days post op and can't have solids yet but will certainly make pizza-fied chicken when I can! Adrianna - Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  3. Yesterday I was serving my kids orange juice and the carton slipped out of my hand.... I reacted quickly so none of it would spill out. I bent down not thinking twice about my port. After that I had some discomfort but today I woke up with no pain. I am 9 days post op, but today I noticed some reddish discharge coming from my port incision. Any advice? Does that mean infection? How do I make it stop? Adrianna - Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

ok, I'm almost 3 days post op

I am 8 days post op and went through this too. It will pass, you need to make sure to walk A LOT!!! Walking really helped. That was advice I got from here. Walk and use a heating pad. It will get better and congrats on being banded!

    port placement

Need advice! I was serving my kids juice today and dropped the juice carton.... I reacted without thinking and bent down quickly to pick it up. I didn't think twice about my port and I'm 8 days post op. I have a little discomfort now and some swelling. Will this go away or did I do some damage? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Adrianna

    Feel so GOOD......

I know how you feel! I am 6 days post op and went to my first check up! The doctor was so thrilled with my progress. I started this journey in May weighing 298 and now weigh 266. Day before surgery I was 279. I feel good besides a little port discomfort because I slept on it....???ž this is the best decision I ever made! Congrats to everyone!!!!!
  7. Happy Holidays! I was also banded December 21st and am just wondering about the sipping too. I do sip everything I drink but is this just because I'm newly banded? Will I eventually be able to take a gulp of something? Just curious.....

    christmas eve food

I am 3 days post op and was fighting a bit of a battle with everything looking so good! I did really good and my family is very supportive so my mom served me my broth and the dinner table. I had no problem helping my mother get all the food together! Just think next year we will be lbs lighter and able to eat. Congrats everyone!
  9. Good to know! I am off my pain meds so I am going to go ahead and drive. Thanks everyone for your help! Have happy holidays!
  10. I was banded 12/21 and have been feeling great. I have had very minimal gas or pain. I do walk A LOT so maybe that really helps. I was wondering when I can start driving again. My husband has to work tonight and I have to take the kids to both grandparents house..... Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  11. I'm 3 days post op and haven't had much except water, propel water and very little chicken broth. I'm supposed to be having only clear liquids. I'm scared because I'm not sure what else I can have and I'm worried about not getting enough protein in my body. I am taking all my vitamins though. Do you think I will be okay?
  12. Thanks so much. For your input. I have been feeling really good, minimal gas pas pains. The worst part of it all it the pain by my port and that's not to severe. I stay on top of the pain meds so that I don't feel the discomfort. How long before I don't feel that pain?
  13. I was banded on the 21st and have been feeling great. I lost 27lbs since I started this journey and can't wait to keep loosing. I am wondering what clear broths y'all had the first week? I have had nothing but water since I left the hospital and know I need to have something. Also, I've had some diarrhea, is that normal?

    The November 'band'wagon!

I've been with the broken ankle for 3 weeks now I have to do another 3. I cried and cried when the doctor told me. Today my blood pressure was the best it's been in 2 years. I felt like everything was going great. I'm really disappointed but I do know its for the best.

    The November 'band'wagon!

I'm so depressed! I was scheduled to be banned Friday but can't because I broke my ankle and the doc is worried about blood clots. I'm glad he's looking out for me but just disappointed.

    The November 'band'wagon!

I drink 2 bariatric advantage meal supplement shakes a day plus jello, broth and all no calorie sugar free drinks and 1 small meal in the evening. It was a little hard, by the 3rd day I was struggling but got through it.

    The November 'band'wagon!

2 more days!!!! Friday is my band day. I can't wait. I'm down 15lbs from pre op diet. It's been a bit of a struggle but I'm already starting to feel better. Keep up the good work everyone!

    Pre Op Diet

That does sound very good! I'm going to try that for sure.

    Pre Op Diet

I do the same thing. Redi whip makes a world of difference. Can you suggest some broths? The ones I have been using are horrible.

    The November 'band'wagon!

Nov 2nd for me! I'm in week 2 of pre op. I have lost 14 lbs from pre op and can't wait till Friday. It's been hard but I have an awesome support system.

    Pre Op Diet

You can put some sugar free redi whip on your jello so you don't get bored with it. It tastes so much better. I start my 2nd week of pre op tomorrow. My surgery is Friday!!!
