  1. Hello all I haven't posted in here in a min. I'm really doing great. I was banded on Jan 21 2013 and have since lost 38 pounds. I'm working out 5 days a week' date=' and I feel great. I also had two fills since being banded. My last fill was on tuesday. I will give it time to see if it helps. But all in all I'm happy. How is everyone else doing.[/quote']

    Congrats lady!!!! Way to go...

  2. Hey' date='

How is everyones post op going. Most of us are a month or more out. I am able to tolerate most foods. which is good, but I am only 28 pounds down. So that is fustrating. I was banded 1/10.[/quote']

I was banded on 1/21 and have lost 21, so your 28 is good! I'm doing good. Had my first fill last Friday. They put 2 1/2 cc's in. I really don't notice a difference. My Doctor said I probably wouldn't this time around.

  3. I gained a pound too... it's Water weight! You can fluctuate around 5lbs' date=' don't worry. Are you weighing yourself everyday? I know it's tempting, but can be destructive, at least that's what I've found. I can guarantee you're not consuming enough to gain 1.5 lbs...

Keep at it girl, you go this![/quote']

I also know I don't get enough Fluid in. I have tried, but just don't make it. I don't remember to drink until I'm thirsty. I hate that too

  4. Hello errrbody!

Finallly' date=' I'm postin on this thread. I was banded on 1/14/13 in Worcester, MA, at St. Vincent's Medical Center by Dr. Michael Potter (TMI?) hahaha and tomorrow marks 1 full month post op. So far I am down 30lbs!

I've had lots of struggles thus far and am not recooping like a lot of you folks (lucky duckies!), but I'm trying to remain strong! Congrats to all of you on your new journey!

Friend me so we can chitty chat!

    Much <3[/quote']

Hi there - I was banded 1/21 and I am now starting to struggle some. I wont have my first fill until 2/26. I have gained 1.5 and not sure why ugh!!!

  5. You are not alone. I'm struggling' date=' too. I have cheated with my portion sizes, etc. I'm sure there are more people out there struggling than actually speak up for support. Sometimes there can be an air of self-righteousness and judgment in these forums, but we're all on the same journey! I hope you figure out the abdominal pain and congrats on getting a fill so soon! I'm jealous![/quote']

I have been struggling myself. I feel so hungry all the time. I get my fiat fill on the 26th. I have not cheated, it isn't because I haven't thought about, it is more of a fear too. Hang in there everyone, we can do this one day at a time and together!

  6. I can finally post in the "POST OP" surgery section because I MADE IT!!! Just got home from surgery a couple hours ago!

I got to the hospital super early 6AM' date=' I couldn't have gotten there about 7:30 or 8, but irrelevant. I registered, got in my room, nurse came and gave my IV. I was able to watch TV and talk with my family for a while. About 9AM they rolled me down to pre-op. I met with my OR nurses, surgeon and CRNA. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I rolled into the OR about 9:45ish. The surgeon went and talked to my mom and said the procedure took about 43mins. CRAZY. I received some dilaudid in post-op and it SO helped with the pain. I didn't and still don't feel that gas feeling...Will it come later?! After I got to my recovery room, I had some juice, ice chips, went to the bathroom and then was ready to go home! I was out of there by 1:00PM! I am home now and resting comfy on my recliner. I have been drinking gatorade and ready to try some Soup. I was a lil nauseated in the hospital but that has gone away and I actually have kind of an appetite. I will be on a liquid diet for the next week and will do a follow-up next Tuesday!

I really psyched myself up for the WORST! Pain, nausea...all that. I really feel great and just sore. I am SO happy I have done this. Can't wait to heal and focus on my weight loss! LOVE YOU ALLL for being so supportive. I can't wait to share more with you as it comes! I hope sharing this part will help someone who has anxiety like I did!

Time to enjoy some shows, soup and this CRAZY warm, stormy Chicago weather!! :)[/quote']

Congrats! I am so glad things went well for you. I am 8 days post op and I feel great! Welcome to the other side.

  7. Keys to not getting stuck:

1- Buy tiny spoon n fork set for baby - always use carry with you - work restaurants everything (do this first year)

2- When you eat ONLY eat / don't watch tv or talk to people just eat. Of course SLOWLY / wait 45-60 seconds every two bites. (Do this first 6 months)

3- NEVER DRINK Water IF STUCK ... Drink vey little if all during eating.

4- GO especially slow in the morning. I usually drink a shake.< /p>

5- Learn the food that causes you problems - for me this is fibrous items - like shrimp - lobster etc..

Stuck or not stuck - your problems are "better"'than before... food coma and acid reflux and you are now on the path to FREEDOM!

Thank you so much for these helpful tips!!!!

  8. I got stuck for the first time today. They are right when they say DON'T drink to get it unstuck! I had to go throw it up. It hurt like hell!! I wasn't chewing right and I was eating to fast! I have got to slow down and chew chew chew! I'm still a work in progress

Did you know right away when you get stuck or is it a few minutes later?

  9. I was surprised to see 5 incisions on me. I think my port is left side 2" under my boob' date=' but I also have an incision just above my belly button, another on my right side, another between my boobs and the fifth and biggest one is slight left above belly button. How many does everyone else have?[/quote']

I have 5 too. I have two on my left side. I believe one is my port. I have one about 3 inches above my belly button and to the right of that and the bigger on kinda between my boobs too. That is the one that hurts the most on me. The others don't bother me at all really.

  10. Well I survived surgery. Was in at 630 home by 730pm. I never realized how much it hurts to crawl in and out of bed. Walked every hour at the hospital. Now I'm propped in bed' date=' heating pad on and took some hydrocodone and 2 gas x strips. Hopefully ill sleep like a baby! Please tell me it gets better each day?![/quote']

I'm 4 days out and it does get better each day. Make sure you drink plenty and walk. That really helps.

  11. Have felt pretty good day 4 postop, ended up with a Migraine. I was allowed to take my imitrix which really helped. I did get to start eating creamed Soup or yogurt. I ate a little Greek yogurt for Breakfast and tried a little cream soup for lunch, I'm sticking with the yogurt. Tasted better LOL. The gas pain is almost gone. The heating pad worked great. Good luck to everyone!
