  1. my doctor actually said i was starving myself and i had stopped my metabolism. also i have not been excirsing, how about you? maybe if you write down what you are eating you'll establish a better info to make changes to help you drop the weight. i forgot about the weight, because i was almost going to start buying size 22 (2x) and now i fit into size 16 (L) comfortably. sometimes weight is not all that, have you notice any changes in your clothing size? just saying, don't get discouraged
  2. okay, to start off, i'm happy!!!! i went to my "1st fill appointment" yesterday. found out i have an AP-lapband. found out my lapband takes a total of 14cc or 14ml. found out my surgeon actually had filled my band with a wapping 5, i'm telling 5cc on the day of surgery!!! the P.A. who checked my fill states all 5cc were there and that she would be adding 1cc making it a total of 6cc (i know you guys know math, i'm just so freaking excited). she told me that i am down one pound from my f/u visit 2 weeks ago but looking at what i have been eating, she said i have stopped my metabolism because i am starving myself. she says i need to eat more!!!! OMG big time!!!! she says i really do need to start my exersicing though, to burn fatty abdy (lol) so i have lost like 7in on my abdomen, 1in on my neck, and 3in on my hips!!! she said that even though i only lost 1lb in 2 weeks according to the goal they placed for me, since the very first visit on Aug 17th, 2012, that i am down 43% of fat weight toward my goal weight!!! so so exciting! okay, why did i say mislead? my doctor had adviced that he usually doesn't fill on the day of surgery...so here i was thinking it was all me, hahaha whatever, right? i think he is sneaky or something, anyways i am glad. all this new info puts to rest much of my wrongful thinking. like no wonder my head was not hungry but my stomache was rumbling, okay so i should eat more. i don't know if this makes sense to anyone out there, but needless to say... VERY VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP YOU APPOINTMENTS!! this is the way i see it, if i lost 9lbs the first 2 weeks and 1lb the next 2 weeks-(again i know you know your math) that's 10lbs in one month, and the best thing is that those 10lbs will never be gain back!!!! i mean if i slack off, and not follow the recommendations sure the pounds are just there waiting for a chance to jump back on my belly, but i'm determined. hope everyone has a happy banded thanksgiving! remember we can eat everything in the menu, just a smaller bite
  3. i guess then i'm in the same zone. thank you for shareing evryone. i was about to stsrt s similsr topic but...we are all in this together! going through the same. we have done good, we follow directions and soon success will follow. take care and the only thing we need to loose here is our weight! rock on oct bandsters!!!

  5. i am totally in the red... for the past three days i have not been feeling so so hungry and have be eating alot , i might have een starving myself the past weeks or something. i will get back on because that's all i can really do. that's all i wanted to post. of course i am disappointed but i don't really know what happened. i will be having an appointment with my doctor on the 19th of nov. hopefully i get my first fill to help me.
  6. hi welcome aboard! it's going to be fun and lots of hard work though, but everything well woryh it!!! good to here from a fellow texan
  7. you know what, my mind wanted to play tricks with me about the risks. but i played back...no you will not die. i have a 5 year old son who i explained about the surgery and mind you he does not know much about dieing, but i expaining that i was going to have a booboo on my tummy but that the doctor was going to help me get better soon. to this he answered mommy so your tummy will get smaller and smaller and you can play with me and you won't have a hard time getting up from the floor? this booboo story might not apply to your 13 yr old son but, i think if you mention the pros to your son he will bettter understand and will look forward to when you come home for recovery. i found that boys can be nuturing to their mommies too. now adays, surgeries are not what they used to be...starting with the huge inscions now they are so small. this soon will pass. stay strong and i will keep you in my prayers. hope to see you on the other side- post op
  8. thank you very much for your words. i will try wally world for the spray cause we don't have a walgreens here in del rio. have a great week!!!
  9. i know right, weird. but no discouragement here. let's keep on keeping on and soon we will see our new us!!! have a great week
  10. i was banded on the 19th. first week was so incredible! post surgery was a bit smooth not what i had expected. second week something different....the week started out at me at 194lb, everyday a pound was added out of nowhere!!!! yikes well today i am 194lbs again. just saying kinda wierd. just wanted to know if anyone else went through this too. i am not panicing or anything just weird. p.s. my belly itches like crazy, i thought itching was when skin stretched. lots of lotion on my belly now just a weird week good luck everyone
  11. congrats jessica, and also i am glad you are good and safe from sandy. so happy to hear from you!!
  12. i agree totally, second opinions are good.

  14. that's good to know, that the result was normal and you are feeling well.
  15. yes you will, i am 13days post op, and am feeling a bit normal, well maybe even too normal. personally i'd rather feel weird or special though! lol
  16. that's awesome!!!
  17. i haven't thought about it-rewarding myself for developing good habits...but pre op i did just that all i mean all the time. not now, crazy right? i don't know if a light bulb went off in my brain but i am so glad it did. i didn't have a hard time last night with all the goodies around either. i was walking around with a very large watered down iced tea and lots of very shaved ice yummy none the less congratulations for not giving in, it takes work at what we are doing...life changing
  18. sorry i just responded, oh and yes it comes in pills or stripes and there is also a brand called bean-o works the same. i just mentioned gas-x because that's the one that i used and it worked great! i hope you day went better than you expected
  19. they are little stripes that disolve on your tongue, like listerine strips or breathe freshners. you can find them at walmart, walgreens, ect over the counter. they help with getting rid of gas
  20. i hope you have your gas-x with you. yes this will be over. especially since you are up and about. walking around will help you get rid of the excess gas. sending you a big hug and praying super natural strength for you.
  21. that's so awsome, i am very excited to hear from you. you have a true determination. getting rid of your scale is a great thing. you are right a number is not what should define us anyway. i hope to keep in touch. happy trails!!!
  22. oh no dont give up!! i get like this at times and then i remember that i didnt gain all this weight in a week or two...soooo, be patient. it will pay off sooner than you think
  23. thank you for shareing. i guess we all have a little of what you just shared. my husband supports me in this process, but even he has said that no one would understand unless they have gone through it. soooo, here i am!!! it truely is a great site and everyone i have come across is so encouraging.
  24. that's great, having support is the best and that what i have found. keep in touch and this will also continue to help you oh, everyone is different on the post op pain management. please don't e scared or disappointed if you have to take pain medication, remember the doctor gives it to us for a reason but like you hear alot of us it is minimal and very manageable. big big recomendation...walk walk walk to aide with the gas in the belly and/or shoulders. you will do great and we will hear (read) about your experience soon! good luck!!!!
  25. that's great. so glad they took you in quick.
